Chapter 214: Walking Into the Trap

“Lord Jiang, this is all the medals. A total of 6326!”
The maidens from the Water Moon Observatory that collected the medals came running from the distance with a few sacks. Jiang Yi didn’t hold back and kept all the medals into the Fire Spirit Pearl. After adding up the medals that he already had, he now had around seven or eight thousand pieces; and the number of points that he obtained should be at the top.
“Let’s go. Yun Fei, help me to scout out Xia Tian and Zhangsun Wuji’s whereabouts. As long as we eliminate their group and some others, we will secure the first rank for this Kingdom War.”
Jiang Yi waved his hand while their group headed out of the Ghost Woods quickly. With Yun Fei s.h.i.+fting the trees, this Ghost Woods no longer had the capability to trap people. In just a short moment, everyone got out of the Ghost Woods.
After they got out of the Ghost Woods, Jiang Yi asked everyone to leave first while he took out a bottle of good wine from the Fire Spirit Pearl and poured it outside of the woods. He took out the spirit beast talisman and buried it in a pit before looking at the woods solemnly.
“Let’s depart!”
Zhan Wushuang walked over and patted on Jiang Yi’s shoulder. “A spirit beast dying in battle is a very common occurrence. However, this Silver-Moon Demon Wolf was very rare; and it is really a pity.”
“Sigh!”
Jiang Yi let out a deep sigh and sprinted along with the rest of the group. This demon wolf was just a spirit beast in Zhan Wushuang’s eyes, but it was like a partner to Jiang Yi which accompanied him for months and rescued him numerous times.
…
After Shui Youlan projected her image, there was an uproar in the Crystal Stone Plains. No one heard what Shui Youlan was talking about, and no matter how bewildered these people were, they didn’t know what exactly was happening.
Zhangsun Wuji and Xia Tian were rather excited; the appearance of Shui Youlan meant Shui Qianrou met with danger. The two of them knew that Shui Qianrou and Yun He went to surround and kill Jiang Yi; no matter what happened, Jiang Yi was definitely dead. It might just be an image, but it was projected by the no.1 martial expert—something Jiang Yi couldn’t go resist.
Zhangsun Wuji waited for Shui Youlan’s image to disappear before he asked someone to control the Spirit Vulture to scout around the Ghost Woods. Without making sure that Jiang Yi was truly dead, his heart wasn’t able to rest.
“Report!”
One day later, the Spirit Vulture returned and provided alarming news to Zhangsun Wuji, “Young Clan Head, we found Jiang Yi with the information provided by the Spirit Vulture. Jiang Yi has been tied up by the Water Moon Observatory’s people and is moving along with the martial artists from the Heaven Mystics Kingdom. Their headcount is only around a few dozens, and Yun He is nowhere to be seen.”
“What’s the situation?”
Zhangsun Wuji and Xia Tian exchanged looks while both of them looked confused. The Spirit Vulture had considerable spirit wisdom, but it wasn’t on the same level as human intelligence which could judge many situations. Moreover, where did Yun He’s few-thousand-strong army go? Why was it only left with a few dozens of individuals?
“Scout again!”
After thinking for a moment, the two of them still couldn’t figure it out; but they didn’t dare to move out recklessly, too. Hence, they made the Spirit Vulture continue scouting.
Half a day later, the Spirit Vulture came back; and the scouted situation was the same as what was reported earlier. There were only a few dozen martial artists, and Jiang Yi was obviously being restrained with ropes. Shui Qianrou was sleeping in the arms of one of the maidens from the Water Moon Observatory, and it seemed like there were two others who were restrained, too. The Spirit Vulture had never seen them before so it couldn’t identify them.
“Wuji, shall we go over and have a look?”
Xia Tian was tempted and gloomy because he was previously surpa.s.sed by Yun He; hence, he didn’t want to give up this great opportunity.
“There is no need to hurry!”
Zhangsun Wuji muttered for a moment before giving his proposal: “Let the Spirit Vulture scout Jiang Yi’s surrounding hundred-meter radius and see if Yun He’s army is lying in ambush.”
Xia Tian nodded and thought it was good to be extra cautious. If he was duped by Yun He, their group might just be wiped out for good. The two of them weren’t suspicious of Jiang Yi as Shui Youlan had appeared and thought it was already a miracle that Jiang Yi wasn’t dead yet.
Soon enough, the information came back again. There wasn’t any army nearby, except for a small group that had a few dozen men a few kilometers to the south.
“Let’s go!”
Zhangsun Wuji didn’t have any doubt in the Spirit Vulture’s scouting ability. The Water Moon Observatory’s maidens were now traversing through a wilderness, which might have many small trees around; but it should definitely be not enough to hide an army which numbered in thousands.
Zhangsun Wuji immediately gave the order to approach Jiang Yi. He and Xia Tian brought over a hundred men, and among them were around seventy Soul Travel Realm experts. They had nothing to fear even if they had to fight with the people of the Water Moon Observatory, and they even had the Ice Dragon which they could use to escape at any moment.
Of course, they didn’t go over to start a battle. Zhangsun Wuji just wanted an opportunity to take out Jiang Yi for good while Xia Tian was looking for an opportunity to woo Shui Qianrou.
…
Two days later…
Within the wilderness, about a hundred individuals were moving at a high speed. Jiang Yi, Yun Fei, and Zhan Wushuang were tied up. Yun Fei’s body was glowing with yellow light as she had been sensing the surrounding forestry within the 50-kilometer radius. At this moment, she suddenly opened her eyes and smiled. “Zhangsun Wuji has been hooked and is now rus.h.i.+ng over to this side. They will probably encounter us in another half a day.”
“Okay!”
Jiang Yi twitched his body. He had been tied up and putting on a display to show his weakness and waiting for Zhangsun Wuji to be baited. He knew that after Shui Youlan appeared, Zhangsun Wuji would surely send the Spirit Vulture to scout him out, which he indeed saw as a black spot in the faraway skies. He decided to beat Zhangsun Wuji at his own game and let him walk right into his trap.
The Water Moon Observatory had more than forty women, Gu Te and the others added up to more than twenty… while Zhang Wushuang and Yun Fei had over eighty subordinates. They naturally had sufficient manpower to deal with Zhangsun Wuji and Xia Tian. These women from the Water Moon Observatory were extremely ferocious; and if Jiang Yi didn’t make use of so many free fighters, he would be an idiot.
“Yun Fei, continue to scout and wait for a moment before asking yours and Zhan Wushuang’s men to come over. We will do a front-and-back pincer attack.”
After Jiang Yi gave his instructions, he leaned on a small tree to rest. Zhan Wushuang and the other Soul Travel Realm experts also rested up and waited for Zhangsun Wuji and his men to appear.
“Roar!”
Half a day later, there was a loud dragon’s roar that echoed from the east side of the skies before a giant Ice Dragon came flying over. Jiang Yi, Zhan Wushuang, and Yun Fei pretended to have fainted—while Gu Te and the leader of the maidens, Shui Zhonghua, stood up according to Jiang Yi’s instruction, acting like they were about to fight the oncoming enemy.
“Swis.h.!.+”
The Water Moon Observatory and Gu Te and Huo Shu’s men quickly scattered and had essence force s.h.i.+ning in their hands, pretending like they were getting ready for a battle.
“Swis.h.!.+ Swis.h.!.+”
A group of people came from the east with the speed of the wind while Zhangsun Wuji and Xia Tian stood on the Ice Dragon and shouted from a distance, “Young Lady Qianrou, it’s us! Don’t attack!”
Shui Qianrou was still asleep and naturally couldn’t reply. Shui Zhonghua took a few steps forward and shouted coldly, “Who are you people? Back off immediately, or don’t blame us for being impolite.”
When Zhangsun Wuji and Xia Tian saw Jiang Yi, Yun Fei, and Zhan Wushuang who had ‘fainted’ and left ‘bloodstained’, they revealed a smile on the edge of their mouths while the last trace suspicion had vanished.
Zhangsun Wuji took a glance at Xia Tian while the latter walked forward and cupped his hand. “I am the Third Prince, Xia Tian, of the Divine Martial Kingdom and also a friend of Young Lady Qianrou. You… what happened? Is Qianrou injured? Who injured her?”
“Oh, so this is Your Third Highness. Young Lady mentioned you to me!”
The tension in Shui Zhonghua’s face alleviated as she lifted her hand for the Water Moon Observatory’s maidens to back down before she explained: “Young Lady had fainted after suffering injuries. I shall not explain to you the details. Please go back first, and I will report to Young Lady as soon as she awakes.”
Xia Tian and Zhangsun Wuji looked at each other in the eyes, which had traces of cold intent. Why would the two of them give up such a good opportunity?
Zhangsun Wuji gave an eye signal, to which Xia Tian immediately let out a laugh. “It’s no matter. We will wait here for Qianrou to wake up. En… that’s right, who are these three sinners? Are they the one who harmed Young Lady Qianrou? Why not kill the three of them? If you are fearful, this Prince shall claim the merit for you! Hurhur, who dares to hurt Young Lady Qianrou must die even if they are the G.o.ds!”
