Chapter 1131 - A Weird Fool
A month later, Alex and Firia came out of the room. They had been training this whole time in that refining room and returned to their original room only to rest.
"It"s finally time." Alex smirked.
"Indeed. Let"s go. We need to line up to sign up for the compet.i.tion." Firia smiled and pulled him to the elevator door.
"Eh? You haven"t signed us up?" Alex widened his eyes in surprise.
"Ah, now that I think about it, I haven"t filled you with anything. I will tell you about it on the way. Let"s go."
Alex nodded and followed her as quickly as possible. William also followed them without fail while looking around, checking the Spiritual Energy around the area.
They went down to the ninetieth floor and saw so many people lining up. However, Firia dragged him to another place.
"We"re supposed to—" Alex opened his mouth, only to be stopped by Firia.
"Nope. That"s for normal people. Since we have the most expensive room, we have our own line. You can say it"s a benefit as well." She smirked. "Did I not say it? For a normal person, the benefit isn"t really worth the price. But for people like us, it"s good since we can stay until the last minute."
"I see." Alex nodded and remembered two days ago when someone brought the money to their room. From the three pills, they surprisingly got a whopping forty billion Spirit Crystals, so three hundred million were just a mere pocket change.
"Haha, I thought you were a spendthrift." Alex joked, teasing Firia.
Firia only pouted and shrugged. "I am not. I won"t suggest you something so foolish unless I really don"t know about it. Since I have understood most features of this tower, I suggest it for you."
"Haha, sorry sorry." Alex smiled and followed her, pa.s.sing all the people who lined up.
Suddenly, they entered another hall where they could see the end of the first line. Meanwhile, he could see a few other counters that seemed to have little to no people. That must be for the wealthy people.
Firia brought him to a counter that had no one other than the staff in it.
"I would like to register. There are still a few hours left, right?"
"Yes. I need your name and Alchemy Ranking." The staff nodded and politely handed a paper for her to fill.
Firia nodded and wrote her name as the Alchemist and Alex"s name as the supporter. Their influence was the same and there were no other details needed other than her rank.
After presenting the badge, the staff nodded her head and took out an orb. "For the requirement, we need to confirm your age since this compet.i.tion is only for those under one thousand years old."
Both Alex and Firia placed their hands on the orb, showing their real age according to their bone.
The staff seemed to know nothing about them and proceeded to the next step. "I have confirmed everything. This is the token for partic.i.p.ation. Congratulations, you are one of the seeded pairs in this tournament."
She presented a blue token before registering their name.
"Thank you." Alex took the token and threw it into the Inventory.
However, the moment they turned around, a red-haired young man walked toward them. Next to him was a Rank 5 G.o.d young woman and Rank 3 G.o.d middle-aged man.
"Well, well, to think I can meet the genius Firia Merona. It"s an honor to meet you, Milady." The red-haired young man kneeled in front of her and was about to kiss her hand.
However, Firia slapped that hand away and frowned. It was like a custom back in the Acacia Kingdom in a n.o.ble gathering, but when she had entered Eulja and became Alex"s wife, she felt nothing but disgust when someone tried to take advantage like this.
"Please respect yourself. If not, you should prepare for the consequences." She released a bit of her killing intent.
The middle-aged man behind him walked forward only to be stopped by a sword. He turned around and saw William, a Rank 2 G.o.d, stopped him with a smug smile. "You should stop. I don"t like to spill blood here."
Alex frowned and asked, "Who is he?"
"Someone who uses Pure Fire. His name is Roy Lindao."
"So, he doesn"t know your status." Alex narrowed his eyes when he activated his Spirit Eyes. He found that his cultivation was only a Rank 4 G.o.d like him, but he found someone"s energy inside him. The fire was as intense as his G.o.dly Pure Fire, but from a different type, making him wonder where he got such a fire.
However, he didn"t want to make a move just yet. He needed to investigate this person before everything else. "Xingzhi. Can you investigate his background? I don"t know why but this type of energy feels like it can counter my Pure Fire."
[On it. Do you think he has a connection with the Phoenix?]
"I can"t answer that question. I will try to rile him up a bit while you prepare our army to set off."
[I understand. I will prepare for it.]
"Sure."
Meanwhile, Firia only shrugged, which showed the answer.
As expected, Alex turned around and saw him fuming when Firia talked to him. He pointed his forefinger at him and shouted. "Who are you?! What is your relations.h.i.+p with her?"
"Ah, I know I have grasped everything about him." Alex facepalmed, put his hand on Firia"s shoulder and pulled her closer. "Let"s not waste our time here. I am tired of conflict."
"Sure." Firia shrugged and followed him.
"You!"
"What you? I just want to warn you that everything you do will affect your world"s survival. You should know what it means to touch someone from Eulja." Alex narrowed his eyes and released the full amount of his killing intent, alarming every single person on that floor. "You don"t even do proper research and talk big. Huft."
Alex then looked at Firia. "I feel like your status has been spread around, right? Although not many are present, it"s enough to be spread around."
"Yes. Unfortunately, Pure Fire seems to be too big of a deal." Firia nodded and let out a long sigh. "Well, maybe you should destroy another few planets so everyone, even the most clueless person, will know you."
"Who cares. I have too many things going on. Don"t have time to handle a simple thing like that." Alex shrugged and shouted. "William, we"re going."
Hearing that order, William looked at the middle-aged man for a while before sheathing his sword. He then followed them without saying anything. When he saw that the young man tried to reach Alex"s shoulder in anger, William grabbed that same hand and pointed his sword at the young man.
Of course, as his bodyguard, the middle-aged man couldn"t handle it anymore and pointed his own sword toward William.
William ignored it and asked, "What are you trying to do? I won"t let you disrespect him anymore."
"You b.a.s.t.a.r.d! I will remember your face. I will destroy you in this compet.i.tion."
Alex ignored him and continued walking to another place, not wanting to deal with this type of person.
"Say, is there a rule for not killing other partic.i.p.ants?" Alex sighed.
"The tower has that rule."
"Haiz. Whatever. This is the first time we"ve met trouble, so I guess no one wins the bet, right?" Alex chuckled.
"You still remember it…" Firia rolled her eyes.
"Of course. Anyway, tell me about the rules of this compet.i.tion."
"There is nothing to be said to be honest. Because of the hype of this compet.i.tion, many are partic.i.p.ating. Hence, those people will try to reduce the number in one go. I don"t know about their method though."
Alex contemplated for a second before asking, "What were the trials back when you partic.i.p.ated in this compet.i.tion?"
"Refining. They made us do simple refining to eliminate half of the people. Then another refining to eliminate almost all of us, leaving only around ten of us. Then, we need to showcase our strength, refining the best thing we can do within one hour. After that, it"s the real refining without a time limit."
"I see. You have confidence in all of them, right? I mean, I am worse than Alicia, you know."
"You are worse than her? That"s the most ridiculous joke I"ve heard today." She chuckled. "Your Array Mastery was already far too impressive. Even Alicia acknowledged that the moment she saw your quick draw. Anyway, I think you don"t need to show your skill for the moment and, if possible, help me by using a bit of your Pure Fire. I don"t think it will suppress them since my fire is the main. I just need the "Pure" attribute from your fire to refine the pills. It will increase our speed and quality."
"That"s not breaking a rule?"
"Yep. Don"t worry about it." Firia nodded with a smile.
"So, where should we go now?" Alex asked.
"The floor below us. It"s where the compet.i.tion will be held. I wonder what will happen when they recognize you are the Spirit G.o.d. I mean, some of them should recognize you, right?"
"Yeah. We don"t need multiple days to complete the compet.i.tion, right? In that case, I don"t need to hide my ident.i.ty."
"Just prepare for the outburst."
"Haha. For what? Are they going to scrutinize me like I don"t have the right to partic.i.p.ate? I"m still a Rank 4 G.o.d, not a G.o.d King. What? My G.o.dly Pure Fire? I don"t even partic.i.p.ate as the alchemist. If they still try to provoke me, they are simply too foolish. Do you think I don"t dare to kill them in this place? Oops, not this place. s.p.a.ce World is another place after all." Alex made an evil smile.
"Haha. No one will complain about it, but your reputation will become even worse."
"I don"t care. If they know me as a petty man, they won"t bother you since they know I will kill them with just the slightest grievance." Alex shrugged. "This is my obligation and the burden I need to shoulder."
"Thank you." Firia smiled. "I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart."
"No need. I do it because I want to." Alex smiled. "Well, we should go to the venue instead of talking about this."
"Sure. This way." She led him to the venue. It was a grand venue capable of holding more than two thousand people. There was even a big arena in the middle of the venus where the people competed with each other.
Because this was one of the biggest compet.i.tions the pill tower had, the venue was packed up, so Firia showed him the room where the partic.i.p.ants waited for him.
As one would expect, there were already around fifty people inside and a few hundred outside. He estimated that there would be five hundred people competing at once, so he wondered how it would turn out.
