After talking to the guards, Naga decided to go outside the hotel for a walk. This city is big. He went down south, a place for the commoners according to the guards. There are houses and small business stalls here. He is looking at the alleys too while walking. There are children playing in the streets and people are talking about random things. This place is lively. A residential area for commoners indeed. He walked until he reached a church. The guards mentioned that this church is special. He doesn"t know anything about religion in this world but he knows that churches can control the people too. Their authority is not something you want to mess with.
He looked at the church. The white gate is simple, no guards too. There"s a huge tree in the middle with stone chairs circling it. The presence of this tree is strong and unmoving. It"s like the guardian of this place. The church is pretty normal. It doesn"t have any gold or silver. It"s made of stone bricks and hard woods. He went inside and sit in a nearby row of long wooden chair.
There"s a statue of a smiling middle-aged man holding a bread. The statue is bended like he is giving the bread to someone who is lying or kneeling in the ground. It is simple yet grand.
He looked at it for a long time. He doesn"t know why but he is admiring the middle-aged man. He thought that the sculptor might be a famous artist to be able to create this masterpiece.
"Sir Pierre of Naris. Patron of the poor. People here are truly respecting him. This church is devoted to him. A true servant of G.o.d." A young woman approached Naga and smiled.
This young woman is beautiful even with just a simple white commoner"s dress. Her presence is warm and elegant.
Naga stood up and smiled too. "Seems to be a good man." He looked at the statue again.
"Yes. A previous knight. An excellent leader but yet betrayed by his kingdom. He gave all of his remaining wealth to the people and devoted himself to the teachings of G.o.d. He died contented but poor." the young woman looked at the statue as well.
Naga was surprised. "What a good man he is. He might be better than me. He serves the people until his death even without his previous power or authority."
He looks at the statue again full of respect. But suddenly, Naga decided to leave.
"What"s your name? Are you new here?" the young woman asked.
"Naga. Yes, see you around." He glanced and smiled at the young woman before walking again.
"I am Lillie. See you around." She smiled at the leaving Naga.
"That kid. He is..." An old man wearing a priest robe approached Lillie. His eyes are clear and powerful. He looked thoroughly at the leaving Naga.
"He said that he is new here." Lillie said to the old man and smiled.
Naga went back to the Hotel and was told that that his young lord arrived an hour ago. He was scolded by the manager. He only smiled and apologized. He can still remeber the chill he felt before leaving the church. He can"t describe it. He acted cool but the reason why he hurriedly left is because he did notice someone watching him.
Naga opened the door. "What"s up?" He smiled at the group. He noticed the resting Old Drun in the sofa. He looks drunk. Well, he"s drunk.
"Good afternoon, My Lord." Bill greeted him.
"Naga, where did you go?" Old Samuel asked.
"You missed the chance of seeing the City Lord. She"s a real beauty, you know? Hahaha!" Nicholas is really happy.
"It"s good that you are here now. We can plan it much better." Oscar said.
"Kid, we will open a shop. We found a manor too. We will move there in two days. They are renovating it." The drunk Old Drun seems to be awake.
"We might stay here for a long time." Bill said.
"That"s fine." Naga actually wanted to stay for a bit more so this is a good news for him.
"I went down south. I am planning to do some fun activities." Naga smiled.
"Naga, we will help this city. We can change this place." Old Samuel said. He"s telling Naga not to do something bad.
Naga frowned. He didn"t expect it. What changed?
"Of course. I am not a villain, you know?" He chuckled.
"Hahaha!" Old Samuel just laughed and didn"t actually reply.
"By the way, your clothes are inside that paper bag." Old Samuel pointed the bag. Naga picked it and started checking the clothes.
"Thanks! Looks nice." Naga is satisfied.
"Your reserve improved?" Old Samuel asked. Dilan also focus his eyes and checked Naga
Both of them were surprised.
"Yeah. I"m an Arcane Expert now." Naga said this while checking the clothes.
Dilan is full of expectation. He"s looking forward to Naga"s improvement.
"Congratulations, My Lord!" Bill is cheerful right now.
Naga stopped checking the clothes and looked at them then smiled. "Thanks."
They discussed about things the group learned today. They talked about their plan for the shop. Naga listened carefully to them and was satisfied. These men are really reliable.
They are going to be busy moving forward. Naga decided to rest for now. He planned to do more things tomorrow.
