Probably, because it is the final test for all, the pa.s.sing time felt as slow as mola.s.ses.Slowly, one by one, the students finished their test and handed over the answer sheet and left the room.
The ones remaining in their seats, they all could hear the rustling whispers of the ones that completed the exam and having a blast outside the cla.s.sroom. It appeared taunting for the rest that continues to face the Math.
...
Anna was the first one to leave the room after completing the test. She finished it faster than anyone. While waiting outside, her eyes never left Lillian Grey and kept rooting for her to do well.
Soon after Anna followed the school topper, Derek Shuvell; the guy who"s knowledge is unparalleled. The nerd and the smarty pant is also part of the school"s chess club. He goes out to partic.i.p.ate in all the compet.i.tions across the country and wins them.
There is not a single soul that doesn"t know Derek in the school. As much as the fame he received as the cla.s.s topper, Derek is a wallflower. He has a handful of friends he trusts and hangs out with them. Aside from that, Derek never pays attention to others and has a moral att.i.tude. All he does is to focus on what he wants and only that. Out of his zone, he never crossed the line and did rebellious things like how the usual teenagers do and act.
The only reason why Derek was not the first to finish the test is; he likes to evaluate his answer sheet before submitting it. Not only for Math, but he has done it for all. Students usually, after completing the test would return it, but not in case of this topper, he remains to a.s.sess his test by himself and only when he thinks it is ready to score the full marks, does he submit it.
When Derek came out following Anna, they both exchanged a look, greeting each other with a slight simper. Soon, he left the place without wasting a second.
Anna continued to wait out and prayed for her friend.
…
With only a few students remaining in the cla.s.sroom, Lillian Grey took a glimpse and saw that Diego just stood up from his seat to submit his sheet.
"He finished already!" – She gaped.
Following Diego, her gaze hunted for the next target, Giselle.
Lillian knew it in her heart that Anna would be the first one to ace the test. Now that Diego also left, only Giselle and herself, are left behind.
She then returned to her test, paying Giselle one final glance.
Lillian had a few more questions left to solve. Taking a deep breath, she focused intensely.

The last few minutes before the time is up, Anna, Diego, and Giselle waited outside, eagerly looking at the silent Lillian Grey still inside the room. She appeared to wear a blank face. Unable to read her mind, the three remained hush next to each other.
"Do you think she did well?" Diego asked.
"I have no freaking clue, look at her," Anna hissed softly.
Giselle did not reply yet one can say she looked just as worried as the other two.
Frankly, she is even more concerned about Lillian than Anna or Diego because this time, she helped Lillian privately.
"Lord, please let her do well." – Giselle chanted inside.
…
The time is up, and the staff is no more waiting for the student to submit. Instead, she went around collecting the answer sheet by herself.
Lillian sat in the farthest seat, still fixed on her paper.
Finally, when it came to her turn, the staff approached her and took the sheet. Intruded by her entrance, Lillian Grey appeared lost.
Leaving the cla.s.sroom, she saw her friends, waiting outside anxiously.
"What happened?"
"How did you do?"
"Was it okay?"
"You will pa.s.s, right?"
Anna and Diego consecutively kept bombarding questions at Lillian Grey.
Bothered by the two, Lillian stood clueless as to how to respond to their enthusiasm.
She naturally landed her gaze on Giselle, who is already staring profoundly.
"Are they this concerned about me?" – Lillian thought, cunningly smirking to herself.
Silently enjoying them worried about her, Lillian Grey retained her mystified grimace.
Anna and Diego kept tossing questions at her, occasionally getting lost; the two started quarreling with each other as into whose question Lillian should respond.
Giselle tried to negotiate and stop their unnecessary arguments.
Her efforts collapsed when Lillian suddenly dragged Giselle away from the spot. The two reached a secluded s.p.a.ce without anyone able to overhear them.
"Why are we here?" Giselle panted from the unexpected rush.
Lillian Grey smiled, "to thank you," she replied.
"Thank me." - Giselle thought.
"Did you do well then?" Giselle roared in joy, jumping onto Lillian, holding onto her arms.
Lillian nodded, revealing the most expensive and proud smirk, she bragged how easy the test was and the chance of her getting the highest score.
Giselle felt proud and satisfied.
"I"m glad," she replied softly.
The secluded s.p.a.ce helped Lillian pick up the sweet voice.
"I should be the one to feel glad," Lillian thanked.
Giselle beamed in rejoice. She couldn"t contain her happiness.
Both kept cheering and huddling together, celebrating the end to the final exam.
"Alright," Lillian voiced.
"Do you know about it?" she asked Giselle.
Giselle appeared clueless.
"Ah, about this year Prom," Lillian explained.
Giselle"s face dropped from hearing it.
Of course, she heard about the prom. However, Giselle pondered whether to attend or not.
...
Everyone at school knows about her secret. Also, her confession to Lillian Grey failed, and they are only friends now. Even though the once locked up feelings got released without her consent and is now tormenting Giselle heavily, the girl had no desire to attend her high school prom.
"Tell me, did you know?" Lillian asked once again.
Giselle nodded her head. Though Lillian heard her response, she noticed how pale Giselle looked.
"What happened?"
"You are not interested in going to Prom?" Lillian asked politely.
Ever since hearing the word "Prom" Giselle released her grip from Lillian. She stood firm, maintaining a distance from Lillian.
She heard Lillian very well but didn"t reply to her.
Lillian Grey watched Giselle frown in silence. Understanding her position, she did not pursue the topic.
"What am I doing?"
"I only called you to thank," Lillian changed the topic.
Bowing to Giselle sincerely, she thanked her one last time for helping though Math.
"Let"s go now. If not, the two would kill each other soon," Lillian announced as she led the way.
Giselle stood frozen for a few seconds before following Lillian.
***
By the time the two returned to the spot where they left Anna and Diego, only one was present.
Anna went missing. – It is what Lillian thought at first.
"Where the h.e.l.l did you two go?" Diego"s voice screeched after noticing the two together.
Startled, Lillian Grey gave a lame excuse, trying to escape. Her try failed as Diego glared at the two like a hawk.
Getting caught in a trance, Lillian felt once again the need to divert the topic.
"Where"s Anna?" she asked.
Diego pointed the directed while keeping his firm stare at Giselle.
Giselle felt being tortured by his piercing gaze.
"Woah, Woah, Woah," Lillian grumbled from the sight.
Anna stood facing a guy called, Anthony Maze, one of the top good-looking, handsome guys. He takes the second spot, following Josh;
A football player and a model. He got scouted by the modeling agency at a very young age.
He often does modeling and is known to have great potential to succeed in the field. Anthony enjoys it and takes it slow for now. He planned on going full force into Modeling after graduating high school. That was the deal he made with his parents.
Seeing such type of a guy with Anna, Lillian pretty much guessed it.
...
The three waited patiently until Anthony finally left Anna with a smile.
Anna returned.
"Do you accept his proposal?" Lillian asked casually.
Anna admitted.
"Wow, Anthony and Anna, double A"s-" Lillian sneered.
"What"s wrong in it?" Anna exclaimed.
"Nothing, dark house angel," Lillian dared.

Everyone knows the blond Bridgette is considered to be the beauty queen, but underneath that, Anna is nothing less of a beautiful lady herself. Like Bridgette, she never boasted her features openly.
"Who"s the dark house?" Anna whacked Lillian.
The two joked and ridiculed each other while Diego appeared to be pre-occupied.
Giselle only relaxed after Diego dropped his gawking gaze. She smiled, watching Anna and Lillian bicker.
All went smooth for them until Diego"s voice suddenly appeared like a flash of lightning.
"Lillian Grey," he summoned his friend.
Anna and Lillian stopped with their silliness. Both looked at Diego curiously.
It became silent at once with all the three girls staring at Diego.
He felt his breath go wild, mind going blank and heart-thumping so hard that it might explode any moment.
Holding onto every ounce of guts inside of him, Diego spoke.
"Will you go to the prom with me?"
