Lia woke up the next morning, a little late to her usual time. She came out after noticing the broad daylight brightening her little room.Ethan was spending his leisure time watching television, some American daytime drama for entertainment. He overheard the light footsteps coming from behind. He turned and found his sweet daughter amble out of the room while rubbing her eyes.
"Morning, cupcake! Did you sleep well?" Ethan attended to the little one.
"Hmm..." Lia sounded to flex her adorable puffy cheeks.
Ethan pinched it playfully as the first thing to do is to tease his child.
Lia squirmed and wriggled from her father"s routine drive. Soon, Ethan stopped, and Lia woke up completely.
The young girl looked around in search of her mother.
"Your mother isn"t here, dear," Ethan answered to cease her quest.
Lia"s face shifted in worry, and Ethan explained it to the girl.
Jayce"s book getting a movie adaptation, received a warm welcome by KeyLine publications. Hence, the company decided to throw a celebratory party for the Author as well as the film production team. Giselle, being Jayce"s editor, led the way in planning for this late-evening party at a star hotel. Ethan woke up early to prepare breakfast for Giselle and send her off to party planning while he agreed to care for Lia.
Giselle left only a few minutes before Lia woke up.
"It"s alright, right? You still have your father, or is it that you don"t want to spend your Sat.u.r.day with me?"
Ethan"s wanly worried brows appeared like two caterpillars racing to reach the sky together. His sad gaze pierced the young offspring and made her feel hurtful.
"No, No, papa, I"m so happy to spend the day with you," the child roared until Ethan"s caterpillars dropped their little race.
"Why don"t you go get ready, and I"ll make you breakfast!" Ethan said.
Lia agreed and left with a gentle morning kiss.

Lia bounced to the bathroom and brushed till her white teeth sparkled crystal clean and stripped her little night pajamas to take a bath.
Out came Lia after cleaning herself and playing with the lather from the soap. She took her time in patting her skin to dry and wore a new dress to spend her day with her father.
Lia loves taking care of herself and does a little routine that Giselle taught her religiously.
Lia has her own baby lotion and the baby powder that she still uses every day. Her designed comb that she uses to groom her hair and tie it to a plain pony. Lia"s latest plan involves learning how to put a decent braid. She practices it at rare times and is hoping to accomplish it sooner. Once all is done, and she took a glance at herself in the mirror, Lia smiled, impressed at her skill. She then left the room to meet and eat her father"s delicious breakfast.
Lia came out and heard her father praise her looks. She tip-toed over to the counter to see what her father made and smiled immediately at notice.
A traditional English breakfast with fried eggs, sausages, beans, crispy bacon, tomatoes, and black pudding.
Ethan signaled Lia to sit down as he served her the full plate of the feast.
"Oh, I expected your mother to have mushrooms, but she didn"t, and I couldn"t find fried bread, but I got this black pudding from the nearby bakery."
Lia became emotional from this hard work.
"You went to the bakery. Father, when did you leave?" Lia asked, curious to know.
Ethan explained his early morning exercise to take a walk around the street. He shared his dawn adventures with his daughter as she ate and appreciated her father"s cooking. Ethan then placed a gla.s.s of milk next to her plate, which Lia took a sip from its arrival. She inquired if her father ate his breakfast already, and Ethan nodded.
Lia returned him a smile and scooped the beans with the black pudding and ate it heartedly.
"I heard you two were in a cold fight!" Ethan said, adding another sound to Lia"s delicate chewing.
Lia appeared stunned from facts thrown suddenly at her. She panicked and worked over her anxiety, thinking if her mother filed a complaint already.
"Did mama tell you?" Lia asked in haste.
Ethan lifted his brows to the returned question instead of an answer yet, he continued. He agreed to Giselle"s confidence in their wordless struggle. Lia sulked upon hearing and felt disappointed. She had hoped that her mother would keep the fight, a secret, but, seeing the position she is in at the moment, faced by her father, Lia felt displeased in herself that caused this confrontation.

Ethan saw his daughter look depressed.
"Mama said that Lia misses her father very much, and that father should visit her soon!"
Only after hearing Ethan say such did Lia lift her sulking gaze.
"Did mother tell you that?"
"Yes," Ethan confirmed.
Lia relaxed, but Ethan continued.
"Mama also said that you met her!"
Lia got startled from knowing that she got caught at last. She appeared dazed at first from the vague reference and later retrieved the picture of Giselle with Lillian Grey. She naturally flinched from recalling that image and shivered slightly while sweat form on her forehead.
"Did you meet that person?" Ethan asked, demanding an answer.
Lia nodded, slow as her action and a worry surfacing her face, reflecting the form of the depressed child Ethan met first when the door opened, and he beheld Lia upon his return.
