Chapter 637: Newlywed Chefs (1)
Ara Cho, Min-joon’s sister, was as perturbed as her parents.
“… I didn’t know brother Min-joon was going to get married.”
“Why don’t you know? You’ve seen him getting on very well with Kaya for a long time,” her mother said.
“But I didn’t know that he would get married to her!” she said with mixed feelings.
Since her brother got married like this, she felt as if she got old all of a sudden. She felt especially so because there was no big age gap between them.
‘I felt somewhat bitter when Anderson got married.’
In fact, almost everybody knew that she liked Anderson a lot because her eyes sparkled whenever they talked about Anderson. So she was really disturbed when he got married to Janet.
It was Joseph who officiated their wedding. Next to him was Taehoon Lee, the chef of Rajumak, who served as the interpreter and moderator for their wedding ceremony. There were quite a few guests from Korea, so their wedding ceremony couldn’t proceed in English alone. This was one blind spot of international marriage. Of course, there were not many who cared about Joseph’s officiating.
“Groom, come on in!”
When the emcee announced it, all the guests stopped chatting and turned their heads to the entrance of the wedding hall, the main store. With the sound of a fanfare, the door opened and Min-joon began to walk in calmly. He was holding up his head, pretending to be dignified and confident, but he seemed rather tense because of that.
‘You’re getting married after all.’
While looking at him, Chloe smiled faintly. She suffered from having a crush on him for a long time, but she did not resent him because of that because she thought she became more mature thanks to him.
At least at this moment, she couldn’t help but think he was so cool. He was obviously shrouded in the atmosphere that only a successful man could enjoy when he walked among the great guests in this great restaurant.
It wasn’t just Chloe who thought so. The guests thought he was cool even when he looked awkward and uneasy. Even though he looked better in a chef suit, not a formal suit, he was fine today. He was today’s hero. Everybody turned their eyes toward him, and his shy smile looked as bright to the guests as the sunlight.
Shortly afterward, the bride entered the hall. Wearing a wedding dress, holding a bouquet in her hand, she was coming in, with her veil lowered, dragging the hem of the dress on the floor. She was s.h.i.+ning more dazzlingly than anyone else in this place.
It was Bruce who was holding her hand. Even though she grew up without a father as a child, she was now walking toward the groom step by step, holding her father’s hand.
At that moment, some guests instinctively looked at Min-joon. They wondered how he reacted to his bride’s looks. They saw his face twitching out of happiness while he was feeling awkward and shy. That was love. When love was imprinted on a person’s face, that face was supposed to twitch like that.
At least for now, no tragedy in the world had touched them. The happy atmosphere of their wedding made even the guests smile sweetly as if they were in a flower garden.
It was a successful wedding.
Perhaps formal expressions like ‘a successful wedding’ would not be appropriate for them. A beautiful wedding would be too cliché.
Then, what kind of wedding was this?
What could capture their shyness, happiness, and love?
n.o.body here knew it. Everyone in the hall couldn’t feel anything other than their eyes sparkling pa.s.sionately toward each other.
In that respect, it might be more appropriate to describe it as a wedding ceremony for the bridegroom and groom only.
For they were today’s heroes.
It was like their happy-ending wedding because the guests only saw their happiness on their faces.
Shortly afterward, Teresa Page, a world-famous singer, sang to celebrate their wedding. In a solemn voice, Joseph asked them if they swore eternal love to each other, and they said yes.
The guests watched them put their hands together. Min-joon and Kaya adorably look at each other and then kissed. The guests let out a huge cheer with clapping. The two finally became a couple.
Kaya and Min-joon did not go on their honeymoon. To be honest, honeymoon travel didn’t feel so romantic for the two because they already traveled all over the world.
Rather, they needed a cozy rest rather than going to gorgeous places. They wanted to quietly take a break from the hectic days of their wedding and their work for the Grand Chef compet.i.tion. So they decided to take a 15-day break.
“Keep in mind. For the next two weeks, we will just play without thinking about our restaurant or our future,” Kaya said.
“You mean doing nothing?”
“Yup. Nothing. Don’t even think about the recipe.”
“Um… I can write down any recipe that comes to my mind, right?”
“Well, still, isn’t it enough to write down what comes to mind?” he asked, checking her feelings. She could notice how strong his pa.s.sion for recipes was in his hesitant att.i.tude. Watching him with a disgruntled expression for a moment, she giggled at him and said after kissing his cheek, “Yeah, I can give that a pa.s.s.”
“Then what shall we do now?”
“Just relax!”
“Aren’t we too calm now for our grandiose wedding?”
“Well, we stand out as a rule, so we need to keep a low profile like this sometimes.”
He burst into laughter at her philosophical statement. He understood her point.
They were ordinary like others. But they earned too much fame. At first, they liked it very much, but they became more and more convinced that being famous did not necessarily make them happy.
It wasn’t just because of those who hated the two. In fact, the couple didn’t care about such people. No matter how much they criticized the couple, it would not do any harm to their reputation. Even if there were people down there with dirt in their hands, who would be afraid of them if he or she was on the top of the rampart?
What made the couple uncomfortable was those outside the rampart. Sometimes the fact that they were successful made someone had some expectations of them. That was not good, of course. Maybe people didn’t expect any return after they helped the poor. Even if they received it, they would expect something trifling, which really didn’t have much monetary value.
But what would they think if they helped someone ranked as one of the richest men in the world? Even if they didn’t help much, they would tend to expect a lot. They might keep thinking of the reward from the rich man, and they would most likely blame him for being stingy, criticizing that his reward was not as huge as they think.
In some respects, Min-joon and Kaya were in a situation similar to the rich man’s. People expected something big from the couple and sulked when this famous chef couple didn’t meet their expectations. But the two could not figure out how they could deal with such people properly.
More precisely, it was Min-joon who could not deal with them properly. When people had expectations of him, smiling at him, he really could not betray their expectations.
But Kaya just did what she wanted to do like before.
‘If we become more famous and more powerful than now, I think they will try to appease us.’
But he could not be sure of that. Perhaps even after they become the greatest chefs in the world, they might still find themselves trying to check how people look at them, wondering if they might be hated or regarded as idiots who got carried away with their success.
‘Well, I don’t have to worry about it now.’
He just got married to her. She clearly told him not to think about work. He could not afford to waste time agonizing over unnecessary worries.
He kissed her neck. Kaya twisted her body and hugged him into her arms.
These young newlyweds began to make hot love on the first night of their wedding.

“I am sorry you lost him.”
Giggling at Chloe, Teresa looked at her. Of course, Chloe knew well why she was smiling so much.
“Hey, don’t misunderstand me. I’m not sad because of Min-joon’s wedding.”
“Are you kidding me? Even though you deny it, I noticed you were in love with him in the past.”
“Nope!”
“Alright, let me trust you. Why are you shouting at me like that?”
Teresa smiled mischievously at her, watching her screaming with her face blus.h.i.+ng. In fact, Teresa had been acting like that since she heard that Min-joon was getting married. Perhaps that was how she comforted Chloe. But Chloe didn’t like it at all.
In the meantime, Teresa had no intention of comforting her. It was not in her element to comfort Chloe because she just had a secret crush on him without ever dating him at all. Rather she wanted to tease Chloe a lot.
“Can you introduce someone, Chloe?”
“I’m not interested.”
“Are you going to end up a spinster?”
“Who said that? I just don’t want to date a man.”
“You might miss the golden time to date.”
“Who cares?” Chloe said, pouting her lips.
