Chapter 669: Although No One Else Could Understand What They Were Saying, Luosang Did
“It’s good for you to go back.” She was either waiting for him at the company or in front of the hotel. Luosang used to wait for Yi Jingxi beneath Yi Group as well. Waiting for someone was a long, tiresome affair. Luosang couldn’t bear to watch Yan Su like this. She regretted asking her along on this trip.
“I think I’ll focus on my alb.u.m… maybe if I don’t make it, I won’t even qualify to meet him again.” Yan Su was worn out. She had never felt this exhausted in her life before as she slowly closed her eyes. Luosang pulled the duvet covers over her, looking worried.
…
In the afternoon, after having lunch with Yan Su, she took her to the train station. At the train station, she said, “Su, call me when you reach Xia City safely.”
“Alright, don’t take me further. Go back to Fanyu, don’t be late!” Yan Su said as she boarded the train.
Luosang watched her disappear before heading back to the company. When she entered the studio, she didn’t leave until six o’clock in the evening for dinner. A voice actor’s dinner is simple, three dishes and rice. That day she had boiled tofu, boiled pork ribs, and winter melon.
After a while, s.h.i.+ Xiang’s Korean a.s.sistant walked in with a large j.a.panese bento box. When he walked out of the studio, his a.s.sistant uncovered the box to reveal foie gras, teriyaki unagi, b.u.t.terfly prawns, tempura, and sas.h.i.+mi.
Tang Cheng whispered to her on the side, “F*ck, look at what he’s eating. Superstars get treated so differently from us. Even his dinner is ten times better than ours.”
“Are you sure it’s only ten times?” Luosang laughed and shook her head. “Look at his bento. It’s from the most famous j.a.panese restaurant in Beijing. The minimum spending there is three thousand dollars.”
Tang Cheng glanced at his own food and said through gritted teeth, “He’s just good looking and has a couple of good songs. His voice acting is garbage. This industry is so unfair. Voice actors don’t get much at all. It’s so different in j.a.pan. Voice actors over there are practically celebrities on their own.”
“There are many things that could be improved in our country’s media industry. Forget about it.” Luosang sighed.
Tang Cheng pouted and continued, “You haven’t heard, have you? s.h.i.+ Xiang only walked into the studio at five o’clock today. You’re going to have to stay ’til past midnight with him again. Don’t say yes anymore. He’s going to earn millions for just a few hours of his time, but you will be teaching him the skills for nothing at all.”
Luosang didn’t want to say anything. They had made an agreement that they would start at three. Forget yesterday, how could he be late again today?
s.h.i.+ Xiang walked out of the studio, and his a.s.sistant handed over the bento box. He walked over to Luosang and said, “Let’s eat together. There’s so much food, I can’t finish it all.”
“It’s alright, I’m nearly done,” Luosang smiled and quickened her pace.
s.h.i.+ Xiang looked at her silently before picking out a few pieces of sus.h.i.+ and prawns and putting them into her bowl. He also proceeded to share his food with Tang Cheng. Tang Cheng’s expression softened. The Korean a.s.sistant walked over and spoke to s.h.i.+ Xiang in Korean while maintaining a smile on her face. s.h.i.+ Xiang replied to her in Korean.
Although no one else could understand what they were saying, Luosang did. She always had an exceptional gift with languages. The a.s.sistant was asking him why he bothered sharing his food with them when they were just ordinary voice actors. She was telling him that he didn’t need to lower his own standards to befriend them. s.h.i.+ Xiang told her that he needed Luosang to teach him voice acting that night.
