Chapter 807: Nian Xi’s Mind Was a Gutter
After ten minutes, the meeting began.
The venue was filled with more than a hundred attendees. They were all people from the film and investment industry.
Entrepreneurs of social media platforms and creators of video websites took to the stage to deliver their speeches, followed by a directors and producers from the film industry. The final speech was to be delivered by Mo Liuxi. Though young, his presence on stage ignited a flurry of discussion in the audience.
Behind him, Nian Junting overheard a few senior lady CEOs talking about Mo Liuxi, “The lad’s quite handsome. What a pity he didn’t go into acting, he might have had quite a contract.”
“You’re thinking too much. His mother owns a film studio, and they’re wealthy. Furthermore, he’s a director. Why don’t you bring him over to your company to write a film? I’m sure it’ll sell well.”
“…”
Nian Junting started chuckling in amus.e.m.e.nt.
A bunch of naïve aunties, he thought to himself. When he was at that age, he was so good-looking that he made men and women salivate.
“h.e.l.lo everyone. My name is Mo Liuxi.”
His polite and pleasant, yet alienated voice resonated from all four corners of the hall. His voice betrayed a hint of hoa.r.s.eness which spoke of a boy who had just grown into a man. His attractiveness was almost magnetic.
Nian Junting was stunned.
The person sitting beside him asked, “What did he say his name was?”
“Mo.”
“…”
Nian Junting looked down at his phone and sent Nian Xi a text, ‘This lad on stage, he said his name was Liuxi?’
Nian Xi replied, ‘Yes, why? Are you thinking of searching for him?’
Nian Junting replied, ‘Shut up. This lad’s surname isn’t Liu, it’s Mo. Didn’t you check his ident.i.ty?’
Nian Xi replied, ‘He said he didn’t have it with him. He looked upright and das.h.i.+ng. Who was I to doubt him? I couldn’t have made him return home to get it. But why would he hide his ident.i.ty? Does he have a criminal past?’
Nian Junting mulled in deep thought. Yes, why hide his true ident.i.ty? Mo… was there something special about this surname?
Yes, Luosang’s mother’s surname was Mo as well, and Luosang also had a younger brother; he should be as old as Mo Liuxi.
Previously, Zeng Zhun had also mentioned something about his origins…
Could it be…
No, no, that was impossible. It must be a coincidence. Moreover, he had also offended Morrison earlier.
Nian Junting scrutinized Mo Liuxi’s face carefully. He had not noticed earlier, but after some time, he seemed to recognize a few similarities between his features and Luosang’s.
Especially his eyes.
It was a pity that he did not scrutinize Morrison’s face earlier.
To Nian Junting, apart from Luosang, all women could be categorized in three groups, the ugly, the average, and the beautiful. As for Morrison, he really could not recall her features. Now that he was sitting behind her, he could only see the back of her head.
Nian Junting snapped a picture of Mo Liuxi and sent it to Nian Xi. “Do you think he looks like your sister-in-law?”
Nian Xi replied, “Now that you mention it, he does indeed. My goodness. Brother, don’t tell me you’re feeling things after looking at his face.”
Nian Junting, “…”.
“After all, Luosang can’t satisfy you now. That’s why you’re letting your mind wander…”
Nian Junting’s face momentarily looked as if he had just stepped in dog feces.
Nian Xi’s mind was a gutter, he thought. He ignored her and turned his attention to Mo Liuxi’s speech.
Mo Liuxi was daring indeed. All the other speakers had scripts, but he stood on stage with empty hands. Moreover, his speech was filled with snide criticism and condemnation of the country’s television, movies, plays, directors and artists.
Nian Junting looked around at the faces of some of the directors in the audience. They looked extremely grouchy.
However, Mo Liuxi had many valid viewpoints.
