Chapter 898: A Scientist Who Was Addicted to Writing Love Letters
Nian Xi didn’t know what to say.
He was so serious, and she felt so nervous and stressed.
“Writing a love letter is even more difficult than writing scientific reports.” Jiang Yuning sounded annoyed and upset. “I’ve spent a long time on it but failed to come up with even a few lines.”
Nian Xi was touched and also amused.
Back in school, she had received some love letters, but at that time, she was all about Feng Ji Chuan.
Later on, she started working. The world was busy, and not many people had the ability and time to write love letters.
“Perhaps, it’s because you don’t like me enough,” she said.
“No. I like you.” Jiang Yuning strongly disagreed. He shook his head.
“Do you like me for who I am? Or because you want a girlfriend? After all, I’m the only female friend you have. You may want to think it through,” Nian Xi said. “Alright, let’s not talk about that. Currently, you need to figure out why those j.a.panese people know about your report.”
Jiang Yuning ignored the last part of her speech but continued focusing on the love letter.
Nian Xi didn’t believe him, so he had to give her the perfect love letter to make her change her mind.
Nian Xi found his reaction annoying and funny. He had become a scientist who was addicted to writing love letters.
…
The conference was over. Jiang Yuning prepared to leave, but people started to surround him.
The speech he gave tonight might not have been the best speech, but his on-spot performance and what Mr. Oda did, impressed people the most.
Cristine from the United States came over, along with Mr. Oda, and said to Jiang Yuning, smilingly, “Mr. Jiang, do you fancy afternoon tea in Mr. Wilson’s Manor? We are all devoted to physics and will be talking about the subject. To be frank, we are working for the benefit of mankind. Perhaps, you’ll find that what happened between you and Mr. Oda is a total misunderstanding when we sit down and talk. Don’t Chinese people always say that we should make friends instead of enemies?”
Nian Xi couldn’t dislike the two of them more. They stole someone else’s work and shamelessly called it a misunderstanding.
She turned to Jiang Yuning and found him as absentminded as ever. She couldn’t help but respond on behalf of him. “I’m afraid Chinese people see tea differently as you do. In our culture, tea is related to the state of mind. The people who know tea well are decent people. Tea is refres.h.i.+ng, elegant, long-lasting, like the fog from the highest mountain. So I think it’s inappropriate for us to have tea with you guys.”
Cristine and Oda’s expressions changed.
“Are all Chinese women so impolite and undereducated?” said Mr. Oda coldly.
Nian Xi was infuriated. Before she argued back, Jiang Yuning held her hand and said, “Let’s go. Don’t talk to incapable people.”
His words p.i.s.sed off Mr. Oda. “Boy, don’t be arrogant. You were still a baby when I became famous.”
“Yeah. I was better than you when I was a baby,” Jiang Yuning said. Jian Yuning left holding Nian Xi’s hand.
Mr. Oda looked at him angrily and said, “I didn’t know that he had the other draft.”
“I think we both underestimated him.” Cristine narrowed her eyes and said, “He’s very likely to win the next n.o.bel Prize in physics.”
“He is not qualified,” said Mr. Oda through clenched teeth.
Cristine glanced at him, then continued, “I’ve received a message saying that someone has been working on the ‘dark energy’ and has made progress.”
“You think it’s him…?” Mr. Oda was stunned.
