Chapter 1556: Nian Junting, Will You Shut Up?
“Yeah! Susu’s mother was taking care of her,” Luosang replied breezily. “It was really strange though. I didn’t expect Little Apple to like Yan Yan so much. He kept holding her hand, and he’d give her the first bite of whatever snack I bought for him. Whenever any other kid came close, he refused to budge.”
Nian Junting hummed knowingly. That was probably why people said blood was thicker than water.
Luosang continued, “Has Little Apple perhaps met his destined other half?”
Nian Junting fell completely silent.
“The relations.h.i.+p can be that of childhood sweethearts with absolute trust in each other. Although they’re still young, I think they’re quite well-suited. Moreover, Susu and I are close friends; it’ll be great if we could become in-laws in the future!” Luosang grew excited just thinking about it. “Furthermore, judging from Yan Yan’s features, I can tell she’ll certainly grow up to be very pretty. She’s already well-mannered and cute.”
“No.” Nian Junting rejected the idea immediately. That would be an incestuous union!
“Why?”
“They’re still young. Let him choose his partner. I don’t approve of parents arranging their children’s marriages. What era are we living in?” Nian Junting objected without any hesitation. “If you want a daughter that much, just have one with me.”
“Stop trying to get into my pants!” Luosang rolled her eyes at him before bending down to help her son into his clothes.
…
Over the next few days, Little Apple kept clamoring to play with his little sister. Luosang had no other choice but to approach Yan Su. She spent a long time persuading her before Yan Su finally agreed to bring Yan Yan and Yan Jin over for a play date. She felt a lot more rea.s.sured with Yan Jin by her side.
The first time Nian Junting laid his eyes on Yan Yan was when he came home carrying a bag of Kentucky Fried Chicken in his hand. Yan Yan had run to the door to pick up a ball, and when she saw him, confusion clouded her fair little face, and a look of timidity flashed across her eyes that resembled Luosang’s. Then, in a nasally and kiddy voice, she said, “Unger.” It sounded a little like the word “uncle.”
Nian Junting looked at Yan Yan for a while before crouching down to pick her up. “Good girl. Call me Daddy.”
Yan Yan’s eyes widened.
Luosang was walking over, and her footsteps slowed. She could keenly sense that her husband wanted a daughter very much.
“I’m your G.o.dmother’s husband. That makes me your G.o.dfather,” Nian Junting explained gently.
Bewilderment colored her features. It did not make sense to her; she already had a father!
“Enough. Stop scaring the kid,” Luosang admonished as she took Yan Yan from his arms. “She can’t even speak properly yet. How is she supposed to call you? Where’s the KFC Family Bucket I asked you to get?”
“It’s here,” Nian Junting replied as he reluctantly held out the bag of Kentucky Fried Chicken.
The children quickly swarmed around them. Nian Junting watched as each person took a chicken wing, and began to retrieve some pictures from his cell phone. “Eat up! Enjoy your KFC! But you have to understand how the animal you’re currently eating grew up. Come, look at this. Each of these chickens has a dozen wings growing out of them, and they reach maturity within a few days due to the number of hormones that are injected into them. Right! There was even news recently that a child found maggots while he was eating the chicken from KFC…”
Yan Jin, Little Apple, and Yan Yan all felt like throwing up upon seeing the pictures. They turned their eyes to the chicken wings in their hands, but no longer had the appet.i.te to take another bite.
The corners of Luosang’s lips quivered. Unable to endure it, she exclaimed, “Nian Junting, will you shut up?”
Nian Junting looked at her bitterly and said, “Luo, how can you shout at me like that? You asked me to buy the chicken from KFC, and I bought it! I’m just sharing news of current affairs with the children now, and now you’re p.i.s.sed off. What on earth do you want? Do you want to change your husband?”
