Chapter 871: She Said That She Doesn’t Like Me Following Her Around and Staring at Her
“…”
Did she look like such a h.o.r.n.y person?
Fang Qi nodded his head meaningfully. “I nearly turned gay when I saw him just now.”
“…”
No, her colleagues were too dirty.
“I’m done. You guys go ahead.” Nian Xi quickly stood up to leave.
She decided to check on Jiang Yuning in the bathroom. He was still gargling his mouth and splas.h.i.+ng his face with cold water.
Nian Xi walked over and he looked up at her. His lips were even redder from before, as if he was wearing lipstick, and his eyes were watery. He said weakly, “It’s really spicy, but I ate it since you fed it to me. I didn’t spit it out.”
Nian Xi’s heart softened at his innocent face.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have fed you that.” Nian Xi felt bad.
Jiang Yuning grinned. “Feed me something non-spicy next time then.”
Nian Xi’s face darkened. “I’m not going to feed you anymore. Feed yourself.”
Jiang Yuning lowered his head sadly.
Nian Xi didn’t know what to say. “In the future, don’t flirt with me in front of my colleagues. They might get the wrong idea about us; I don’t want that. I’m still looking for a boyfriend, so just treat me like another one of your bodyguards.”
“Flirt?” Jiang Yuning was stunned. He didn’t understand what she meant.
“Yeah, flirtatious. That’s when you treat a girl extremely nice. You were flirting with me when you followed behind me and when you kept staring at me.” Nian Xi thought that she sounded a little harsh but she had to make herself clear.
Jiang Yuning looked at her without blinking; he looked lost.
“Just watch it.” Nian Xi reminded him before walking away.
She turned to see Jiang Yuning staring into the basin. His fringe was wet, his lips were downturned and his eyes looked forlorn; he looked like a sad puppy.
Nian Xi quickly looked away. Her heart would melt into goo if she looked any longer.
Jiang Yuning looked at her sadly as she walked away. When Uncle Han saw him, he started walking towards him but watched him sadly walk to his own room.
He looked hurt. Uncle Han chased after him saying, “Mr. Jiang…”
Jiang Yuning laid down on his bed sadly and turned away from Uncle Han.
“What’s the matter, Mr. Jiang?”
“She said that she doesn’t like me following her around and staring at her,” Jiang Yuning said pitifully. He sounded like he was hurt by her words.
“Then you have to control yourself,” Uncle Han said.
Jiang Yuning paused to think before replying, “No, I can’t control myself.”
“…”
…
In the afternoon, Jiang Yuning didn’t emerge from his bedroom.
Nian Xi was bored and wandered around the laboratory by herself when she entered the back garden on accident. There were all sorts of trees and plants growing.
“These are planted by Mr. Jiang himself.” Uncle Han suddenly appeared behind her.
Nian Xi was surprised and nodded her head. “Impressive. I can’t plant anything.”
“Mr. Jiang’s favorite pastime is watching and tending to these plants when he’s not researching.” Uncle Han smiled. “He doesn’t have many friends, and his family is devoted to research as well. His life is dry and boring other than his work.”
Nian Xi felt bad when she heard that.
“The psychiatrist said the reason he doesn’t enjoy talking is because of the lack of company since he was young.” Uncle Han sighed. “He said that writing is not tiring and is a coping mechanism he uses to escape his loneliness. Officer Nian, I know his way of life disturbs you, but he just wants a friend.”
