Chapter 165: Shooting the MV
“Let’s take a photo together after I put my makeup on,” Yun Xiangxiang hugged Wei Shanshan back.
“I’ll take you to our studio for a look,” Wei Shanshan grabbed Yun Xiangxiang and went inside.
“Overseer of the Heavenly Destiny” was not a small investment. The heavenly palace had all the grandeur and beauty it should have. The Palace of the Heavenly Destiny went with a silver and ivory theme. It was holy, pure, and grand.
“We still need to film the show with a lot of China’s famous landmarks. This show will probably take more than six months to complete.”
Wei Shanshan introduced Yun Xiangxiang to the studio as they went. She would greet the crew who were familiar with her. She was well received here.
This was Song Meng and Li Xiangling’s first time coming into a filming venue. Both of them thought that everything was interesting. They were also familiar with Wei Shanshan. They couldn’t stop talking once they started.
Yun Xiangxiang only went to look for Xue Yu who was checking the preparations after Wei Shanshan went back to filming.
“The director of “Overseer of the Heavenly Destiny” actually asked me to do a guest appearance as Buddha. You know, if the Buddha is as das.h.i.+ng as I am, won’t all the ladies convert to Buddhism?” Xue Yu touched his smooth head narcissistically.
Yun Xiangxiang, who was applying her makeup, was trying hard not to laugh.
“Don’t go over to their crew too much. You might not be able to get away with it if Wei Shanshan comes to ask you about it,” Xue Yu reminded.
He chose the studio of “Overseer of the Heavenly Destiny” because he wanted to save some resources after all. As they say, ‘Gifts blind the eyes [1].’
Their MV would be aired before “Overseer.” If their MV becomes a big hit, naturally they could build the momentum up for “Overseer of the Heavenly Destiny.”
“Didn’t you promise them anything?” Yun Xiangxiang did not believe that the crew would lend the place to them for free after they had started filming.
“I’ll be singing the opening for them,” Xue Yu looked generous. “At a twenty percent discount!”
Xue Yu had never gotten involved with the filming of any dramas. However, he did compose, write, and sing for numerous dramas.
“Overseer of the Heavenly Destiny” was produced by Brilliant Entertainment. It was natural for them to spend big money on the production where the actor they strongly supported was the protagonist.
After Yun Xiangxiang was done with her makeup, changed into a light green gauze dress and had a lotus drawn between her eyes, a fairy like air radiated from her.
“Ao ao ao, I’ll take this pic and send it to the fans!” Song Meng immediately took out her phone to take the photo before she quickly posted on Weibo.

[Heavens! It’s the fairy herself! Ah…My Xiangxiang is a hundred times prettier in ancient attire than I thought]
[Upload a few more pictures, President! My Xiangxiang is finally playing in ancient attire. I’m so excited I could cry. So looking forward to this]
[Pretty pretty pretty]
The comments under the post were just praises about how beautiful she was, and the drooling emoji by Yun Xiangxiang’s fans.
The first scene of the MV was when the green lotus saw the monk who was meditating right after she opened her eyes when she turned into a human.
The cameraman gave Yun Xiangxiang a close-up. It took in her silky eyelashes clearly. As she slowly opened her eyes, a wave of light seemed to move beneath her eyes. It was clear, bright, and mesmerising.
The camera turned to Xue Yu in the direction of her sight. Donning a kasaya, his handsomeness could not be hidden, even though his brows were thin.
Xue Yu might be somewhat goofy, but he was serious in acting. He also knew how to look the part.
He sat there with his eyes closed. The image of an enlightened monk who had already separated from the world leaped out and took Yun Xiangxiang into the scene.
A great actor could absolutely create the story’s atmosphere by themselves and pull their co-actors into the scene.
They managed to finish shooting in three days, which was earlier than their planned five-day schedule. Every scene was at its utmost best.
Yun Xiangxiang and Xue Yu even changed their looks before they went to visit the composer after they had finished filming.
He Wei would place a normal car at the place where Xue Yu would go beforehand. Xue Yu would usually arrive in a luxury car, but would leave in a normal car.
With how strict the people beside him were, the reporters who were waiting for him missed him.
He was wearing a face mask and a baseball cap when he arrived at the hospital. On top of that, he was not wearing anything fancy. Even though his figure was decent, most people would just take him as a normal guy.
When they arrived at Dong Chen’s ward, they saw the woman who looked twenty-five with her head down, immersed in painting.
Her head was shaved. She was in a patient’s gown. Seriousness and concentration were written on her face.
“Chen Chen,” Xue Yu called kindly.
Dong Chen immediately raised her head. Starlight shone in her eyes as she looked at Xue Yu. The light shone brighter still when she saw Yun Xiangxiang.
“Where’s your mother?” Xue Yu placed the fruits on the table. Surprisingly, there was n.o.body else except them in the ward.
“Mom went to visit Xiao You in the ward next door,” Dong Chen’s gaze never left Yun Xiangxiang. “You’re prettier than you look in the photos.”
“Thank you,” Yun Xiangxiang smiled generously as she let Dong Chen size her up as she wanted.
“Chen Chen, my junior and I have finished shooting the MV. Here’s a copy for you.” That was the raw product that had little editing. It would take a while longer before the finished MV could be produced.
Dong Chen mumbled excitedly as she looked at it. She was elated. She even rewatched the MV numerous times after that. Yun Xiangxiang and Xue Yu were forgotten.
“She can be a bit of an airhead,” Xue Yu tried to defend Dong Chen after they left.
Xue Yu came into contact with Dong Chen a few times before. He understood what Dong Chen was like. She could easily become engrossed in something. Dong Chen was not neglecting them on purpose.
Yun Xiangxiang did not mind. She whispered, “Is her condition severe?”
“She couldn’t find a suitable bone marrow donor after all this time. Her cardiovascular function is slightly weaker. The doctor said that a transplant surgery is unsuitable for her,” Xue Yu sighed.
“Is there no other way?” Yun Xiangxiang would recall her previous life every time she heard about terminal illnesses.
The desperation and agony would be lost forever on those who never felt them.
“This hospital is already the best,” Xue Yu raised his head to look at the towering hospital behind him.
Yun Xiangxiang did not enquire any further. They come and go like the gentle breeze, unknown to anyone.
She could see that Xue Yu did not want anyone to disturb Dong Chen’s life because of him.
“You have something in your mind,” Song Mian gazed deeply into Yun Xiangxiang after she returned home.
Yun Xiangxiang arched her eyebrow. She thought she was already calm enough. Not even Li Xiangling and the others noticed.
“I went to visit a patient today,” Yun Xiangxiang was reluctant to introduce any patients to Song Mian after Percy’s case. Even so, she couldn’t lie to Song Mian when he had asked. She told him about the whole story.
“I just feel that life is really a fickle thing,” Yun Xiangxiang sighed after she had finished.
How insignificant is humanity in front of diseases?
“I’ll take some time off to see her,” said Song Mian.
Yun Xiangxiang wrapped her arms around Song Mian’s neck. “I don’t mean that. There are countless people contracting terminal illnesses every day. I can’t ask you to treat every single one of them.”
“I just happen to have research on treatment for leukemia. I need a specimen, if she doesn’t mind,” Song Mian wrapped his arms around Yun Xiangxiang’s slender waist.
“Is it really a coincidence?” Yun Xiangxiang looked at Song Mian quizzically.
“Absolutely not a lie,” Song Mian guaranteed. “This is a new direction. It eschews both chemotherapy and transplants. Instead, it is a double treatment involving both Western and Chinese medicine.
