Chapter 56: Forced Landing of Airplane

Qiao Guan was a gentlemanly looking guy. He wore a suit, tie, and a pair of gold rimmed gla.s.ses. It was obvious that he was an elite businessman at a glance.
Yun Xiangxiang was quite fond of him after they met. They said that he had a dual master degree in finance and law in a world cla.s.s higher education inst.i.tution.
“What do you expect from me?” Qiao Guan asked Yun Xiangxiang after he briefed her about his plans for her a.s.sets.
“I have two requests.” Yun Xiangxiang was a woman who could think for herself, “I know that you wealth planners would pre-plan the preparations and arrangements to manage the taxpayer’s investments, wealth planning, and other economic activities. This is done to fully utilize the benefits and preferential treatment provided in the tax laws in order to appropriately reduce or defer the paying of tax money.”
Qiao Guan nodded, “This is an imperative part in our responsibility and work.”
“I can accept not reducing the tax rate. However, I cannot accept any actions that may break the law.” Yun Xiangxiang’s gaze was firm.
Qiao Guan adjusted his gla.s.ses. He looked at Xue Yu and He Wei who was standing at the side. “Do you know that you would have to pay at least millions, if not tens of millions in taxes in a year in the future if you are going to follow through with what your agent has planned for you?”
“I believe that my income would be greater than the tax that I have to pay no matter when.”
Yun Xiangxiang laughed, “I film not because it’s lucrative. I actually like this career. I won’t be so fake as to say that I don’t like money. However, I won’t be a slave to it. It’s quite boring when numbers become so irrelevant, spending it doesn’t spark anything.”
Yun Xiangxiang didn’t have much of a desire to enjoy materialism. Private jets; private yacht; mansions that measured a few thousand square meters. All of it was insubstantial to her.
She was someone who found pleasure in the simpler things in life. Yun Zhibin was a teacher that taught students. He would feel hurt if he found out that his daughter broke the law. He wouldn’t even have the right to be anyone’s teacher anymore.
“Okay, I promise you. I’ll absolutely protect your reputation as a good citizen.” Qiao Guan nodded with a smile, “And the other request?”
“I want to build a foundation. I know I don’t have much in a.s.sets, but it will increase in the future.”
Yun Xiangxiang felt embarra.s.sed. It seemed to be a little too soon to talk about this. She still hoped that Qiao Guan could prepare it earlier though. “Transfer half of my net earnings from now on into this. I’ll leave it to you. I hope that the money can truly help those who are in need.”
She had a hundred million or two from her hard work during her previous life. She had someone to donate it all before she died. She was an orphan and died because of a disease. She hoped that the world would have less people who were as sorry as Hua Xiangrong.
Qiao Guan carefully judged Yun Xiangxiang for a while. He wanted to confirm that the young lady didn’t make this decision at the spur of the moment; nor did she do it because of fame and glory. He wanted to confirm that the decision was borne from the depths of her heart. He gazed at He Wei with a smile, “Where did you find this little angel?”
“An angel that is in debt but wanted to save humanity.” He Wei who was hardly sarcastic noted sardonically.
Yun Xiangxiang was feeling sheepish. Even if she earned a huge sum of endors.e.m.e.nt fees, she didn’t have twenty million yuan even when the money in her card was added to it.
She had to split her income in half and give it to the company due to her signing with them.
“You have such a sharp tongue. Be gentler to girls.” Qiao Guan chastised He Wei. He stood up and refilled Yun Xiangxiang’s gla.s.s of juice, “Your requests are noted. I will plan accordingly.”
“Thank you, Brother Qiao.” Yun Xiangxiang seize the opportunity to toast him.
After the meal, Yun Xiangxiang and Qiao Guan reached an agreement. After a busy day of settling procedural matters, Yun Xiangxiang booked tomorrow’s flight ticket to Hong Kong.
He Wei sent her himself. Yun Xiangxiang didn’t see Xue Yu after that.
The ticket was for a first cla.s.s cabin. It wasn’t because Yun Xiangxiang wanted to indulge. It was because of the fact that she was now a public figure. Sitting in the economic cabin could cause unnecessary trouble and stress to the flight crew.
By the time the broadcast announced that the plane was about to take flight and it already started taxiing, it suddenly slowed down and came to a halt.
There was no announcement from the broadcast. Yun Xiangxiang was perplexed. The broadcast quickly came in. It said that the plane malfunctioned during the checkup. The flight would be delayed by half an hour. The flight crew started calming down the pa.s.sengers.
Just when Yun Xiangxiang was believing the announcement, the flight captain stood in front of her with two other men. One of them wore neat army clothes; the other donned very cla.s.sy attire. He was a middle-aged man who looked quite energetic.
The middle-aged man was very polite, “Miss Yun Xiangxiang.”
“That would be me. Did anything happen?” Yun Xiangxiang looked at them with a confused expression.
“Miss Yun Xiangxiang. Actually, we have an important guest who lost a lot of blood and will arrive at the hospital by now. His blood type is special. We checked all the blood centres in the entire country. Your blood type matches with his, so we will need you to follow us.” He bowed slightly.
His att.i.tude was humble. There wasn’t any threat or coercion in his tone. However, Yun Xiangxiang could feel that his aura was suffocating her.
“You guys forced the plane to stop?” Yun Xiangxiang asked.
“Desperate times calls for desperate measures. We deeply regret this.” This man nodded to the other pa.s.sengers in the first cla.s.s cabin as a sign of apology.
The pa.s.sengers who were in the first cla.s.s cabin were basically wealthy people. It was obvious that these people felt this man’s aura too. They said they didn’t mind it.
Yun Xiangxiang didn’t ask any further questions. She stood up on her own, “Let’s go.”
It was obvious that the both of them had impressive backgrounds. Or else they wouldn’t be able to stop a plane that was already taking flight. The background of the man in a suit was unclear. However, the military rank on the army attire was clear for anyone to see. Since they were being so hospitable, she would do better to go with the flow.
“Can I make a call?” Yun Xiangxiang enquired after she got into the car.
“You are free to do that. This is your right.” said the man warmly.
“Thank you.” Yun Xiangxiang nodded politely before calling Lin Jialiang.
She told him that something happened on her side. It was highly probable that her return to the team would be delayed by a couple of days. She apologized for that. Lin Jialiang was a very accommodating person. He only asked about the event that happened out of concern. Yun Xiangxiang only said that it was a private matter.
She did enter a private hospital. However, it wasn’t a small private hospital, but a very cla.s.sy private hospital that resembled mansions.
The patient seemingly didn’t arrive yet. Yun Xiangxiang was dragged through a series of checkups. In her previous life, any one of those checkups’ results would have had her waiting for a day. It only took a few minutes here.
Their equipment was very advanced.
She was now curious about the status of this person. He was actually so important, the whole country’s blood centres were investigated before he even arrived.
On top of that, they locked on to her and found her at such a precise position at this speed. The authority involved in the process was beyond what Yun Xiangxiang could imagine.
She donated her blood with Yun Zhibin accompanying her last year when she turned sixteen. The hospital wouldn’t have accepted her blood were it not for Yun Zhibin being her guardian as well as his record of blood donation over ten odd years.
She seemed to be of O Type. It wasn’t even rare cases like RH negative or positive. Even if it was that kind of blood, it didn’t necessarily have to be her.
