*previously*Why is he behaving like this? I was just messing around when I rejected him earlier. Rejected him...rejection... that"s it. I bet he hasn"t been rejected before and you know what? I won"t apologize. He should learn how to be rejected more often. Jeez!
*Now**
Ben"s POV..
She rejected me. That"s something that had never happened before. Never with any of the women I"ve dated and it felt strange and hurtful. Even though we"re not dating, I still feel hurt by her rejection. It makes me remember the way I was rejected by my relations when— NO. I can"t think of that. Not now when Anna"s with me in the car. I can"t let her see how vulnerable I am when my mask is taken off. She sat quietly in the car staring at the window as I drove to the shopping mall. I feel like I"ve hurt her more than the way rejection hurts me now. We drove past the mall and she quickly turned to me give me a questioning glare and I know she"s mad at me but she doesn"t say a word as she brings her phone out and started chatting all the way.
I pulled up in a desolated place and she finally broke the silence. "So you brought me here to the woods so you"ll kill me and dump my body here or if possible leave me in the middle of nowhere and run away? Pretty clever." She said with a scoff. I ignored her sarcastic comment and kept on walking. She hesitated a bit but conceded as she followed me up the hill to my special spot. When we got there, the amazed look on her face did not escape me.
Anna"s POV...
So he decided to give me the silent treatment... Extremely clever. I was so wrapped up in anger towards him that it all died off when we were at the top of the cliff. It was so beautiful. Underneath the cliff was a large water body consisting of sea blue water just like my eyes. It was the most beautiful site I had ever seen. For a moment I forgot I was mad at him as I took in the amazing site. I sat at the edge of the cliff with my legs dangling in mid air which made me wonder what it would be like under the water. "It"s... it"s beautiful" I said as I glanced up at him. He smiled and took a seat beside me.

"I come here alot, you know? When I want to be alone...When I want to think..." he sighed deeply and I know he was fighting the urge to tell me something. "It"s exactly 12 years today since my parent"s death" his voice cracked at the end. I can feel he"s hurting and is fighting tears from spilling. "I was sixteen when they died in a plane crash. I was in school that day when Ms Williams came over and took permission to leave from the princ.i.p.al. I had the bad feeling something was amiss and my suspicions were correct when I saw my mother and my father lying there on the bed, lifeless, looking so pale and when I reached out to touch their faces, they were cold. It was the worse day of my life. I started weeping and crying and wailing and Ms Williams was the only one there to comfort me as well as my brother." he paused and took deep breath. He was finding it hard to tell me this sad part of his life and just want to reach out to comfort him and that"s what I did. I leaned closer and held his hand in mine giving it a small squeeze to a.s.sure him I"m by his side no matter what. "A few days after the funeral, we were finding it difficult to cope financially and otherwise so we went to our relatives to... to beg them for a.s.sistance but they all gave sick old excuses. They rejected us like we never meant a single s.h.i.t to them... like they never knew my father and all of the good he did for them. It was so frustrating. Two days later, my father"s lawyer came over to the house to read my father"s will and everything single one of my father and mother"s properties belonged to me, my little brother and Ms Williams as well. But since I was underage, Ms Williams had to take responsibility and manage everything till I graduated from college. Five years ago, I became legal owner of Walker Corp which is now known as Ben"s Corporation. While my brother owns the Jones Corp, sure you must have heard of it." he said and smiled a bit. "Rejection... nothing hurts alot as rejection from the people you love. It hurt when they rejected us years ago and when you did that few hours ago, it made me remember my past. It made me remember how painful it was trying to forget the most painful day of my life. The most painful day 12 years ago. He sniffled and cried silently on my shoulder.
"I"m.. I"m so sorry. I never meant to act like that. I didn"t know today was a delicate day to you. I"m really sorry about all of it". After a moment of silence, I looked down at him with a smile which he returned with a puzzled look "Tell me about them"
"What?!"
"Your parents.. tell me about them. It will help. Trust me". He smiled a little then took deep steady breathes.
"My mom... she was my everything. My dad was always busy but never too busy for his little boys. I"m older than Jones with five minutes..yeah I"m a twin. He was quite the rebel though. He caused my parents a lot of headaches but they loved him nonetheless. I took after my dad"s features but my hair and eyes are my mom"s. But Jones was everything about my mom; her appearance, hair colour, character, stubbornness... just name it. Except that she wasn"t a rebel like him. Here"s a picture of all of us".
He pulled out his phone and scrolled through his photos then gave it to me. I looked at the man in the photo that looked exactly like Ben except the hair colour and eye. His were green and blonde hair but Ben has brown eyes and brown hair. Speaking of–
"Why"s your eye brown? The first time I saw them, they were blue" and he laughed hard and I"m so glad that I made him laugh.
"Contact lens... sometimes I get tired of wearing my gla.s.ses so I wear contact instead" he said and I mouthed an "oh" then stared back at the woman in the picture.
"Wow she"s beautiful. And her eyes, they"re a big green and her hair was blonde. It"s so amazing."
"Yeah, I know right". I looked at the smaller version of Ben and he looks so adorable. I smiled at the picture before noticing another little boy who looks extremely familiar.
"Is this your brother?"
"Yup"
"He looks so familiar"
"He"s the CEO of Jones Corp, of course he"s familiar."
"No that"s not it" then it dawned on me how I knew him. "OMG! He"s dating my roomie, Emma"
****Sometimes I call her Emma but most of the time, it"s Ella****
...and I let out a loud laughter "My roomie"s dating your rebel of a brother. Wow this didn"t turn out as I"ve expected."
"My brother"s quite the catch though. So your bestfriend is literally my brother"s secretary and girlfriend. Wow! Wow! Wow! This is wonderful". he said laughing. The kind of laughter I love hearing. The one that makes his cheek rise and his perfectly white teeth in full display.
