After getting the keys he went inside and checked the room, and saw that it wasn"t too big and not too small, and had the bare necessities. A bedroom, kitchen, restroom. He wouldn"t be sleeping here anyways therefore he didn"t mind the room much. Although the bed was tempting for him, he would still sleep in the s.p.a.ce, so that he can meditate.
Now done with checking, he wanted to go to the library. Getting out of his room, he went to the reception desk, and it was empty, once again. Two minutes after standing there the same maid had come back to attend to him.
He apologized and stated his business "Sorry for the trouble, but I wanted to ask you where can I find the library?"
"No problem, it"s my job. The library is actually quite near our inn" She replied with the same smiling face clearly not bothered at the least, and she gave him the directions after.
"Thanks" he thanked her as he was getting outside.
The maid kept following him with her eyes until he left, before turning and heading into a room that was plain than even the one Ned was in.
There was an old man with a kind face sitting there, on a couch reading a book he was holding with his right hand. She bowed at the door before entering and asking, "Grandfather is there something interesting about that young man? You have told me to be extra special to him"
The old man was actually the owner of the inn, and grandfather of the girl, Lori, to which the inn was named after.
The old man put his book down and got up and stroked her cheeks, "My dear, everybody has their secrets, it is just that this young man has a couple more than normal". He said with a kind tone and a voice filled with love.
"Can you tell me abou- "
"I"m sorry my dear, but I wouldn"t be able to tell them to you. If he is hiding them than I have no right to speak about him" he interrupted her as he firmly denied her request.
"I know grandfather, I"m sorry for asking such a thing. I was just curious about him" She said with a sorry tone, as she had actually made a mistake and asked such a dishonorable thing from him.
"No need to my dear" he gently smiled at her as he pinched her nose" although she was big for such action, she didn"t mind at all, she giggled happily before excusing herself to her duties.
While the old man picked up the book with his right hand once again, and continued reading it. You would notice that book he was reading was named "Heroes of Askir" .
Ned oblivious to the fact that he had been seen through, was following the directions to reach the library. He was excited to know about this world in more details.
Soon he reached it, he was told to pay a fee of two gold, and if he wanted to rent a book he would need to pay an amount too.
He liked this rental thing but he first wanted to try something.
He asked the librarian of where the history books were placed, and went there.
Grabbing a book named Dark ages he whispered, "Emmy, scan this book please.
[Dark ages.
Would you like to make a copy?]
"huh?" he exclaimed in surprise, and quickly looked around, but it was fortunate that the library wasn"t a popular place.
When he used scan, he was actually hoping it would just tell him of what it contained inside, but this came as a pleasant surprise.
He said yes, and a similar book was suddenly in his inventory.
He also took a book named Heroes of Askir. And a couple other books. But one thing he noticed was, how there wasn"t any book about the other races.
He took the book he was holding and rented it, he wouldn"t want them to say he was just fooling in the library.
And went back to the inn.
Once he got inside he met a kind looking old man walking in his direction, Ned guessed that he was the inn"s owner and so he bowed his head a bit in greeting before heading to his room.
The old man watching his back said to himself "What a polite young man" before continuing his walk.
Upon reaching the room, Ned locked it and brought out the first book out of the inventory. And started reading.
It was in the beginning the same as he had already know about the first hero blessed by the G.o.ddess of magic. However in here it had detailed more about the G.o.ds looking over this world.
The G.o.ddess, responsible for the humans win, was named Circe, the G.o.ddess of magic. It was said that her beauty was like no other G.o.ddess, and he wanted to at the least see the statue they made of her, to see the said beauty.
The story then continued of how the children of the first hero, weren"t able to use their huge magical power, and so tried to think of ways to be able to use magic. The G.o.ds then introduced the current system, and his children then unified, what was at the time just 13 different city into the current kingdom named Yozzalera. It was actually the family name of the first hero. Killian Yozzalera.
His family had ruled the kingdom for the last 1000 year. It"s current king is named Randall Yozzalera. As he was uninterested in the kingdom rulers he skipped that part. But he was able to know that the humans weren"t as chaotic as he guessed they would be. They didn"t lead any wars for becoming kings themselves.
As he continued to read he also knew the answer to his question about discrimination. It had actually lessened to a greater degree, because of a prophecy or so was told by the races to the human king of that time as they made peace. It was only after the G.o.ddess Circe, sent an oracle to the humans of why the races did so, that the humans knew the prophecy was about them.
