Before he even thought to ask his master she had already raised her hands and said."I know what you want to ask."
Ned gave her a nod.
"First of all, there are not many who can use magic without a chant. Even among them, none can use it better than you. The reason why are they able to is how far they have reached in their paths. Once you reach rank 8, for example if you were a magician with a fire affinity, you would control it to a certain extent and be able to cast spells related to fire soundlessly. For me it is s.p.a.ce element and water/ice element." She said and gave him a minute to let him absorb the information.
Ned pondered, and from what he understood, it meant that only some among the rank 8th, could cast spells without a chant. And even so it would be limited to the element they have.
After taking that in, he gave her a nod to continue.
"Second, none, and I stress on the word none, can control a spell after it is released including me. Due to my teacher I learned this technique where you saw those magical circles surrounding my wrists. I would of course teach it you as you are my disciple. What you saw when that spell followed you was a spell itself. One designed to follow after an enemy." Eline said.
"Why? I already know how to control my spells after releasing them, and also if the magical circles don"t help you control the spells than what does it do?" Ned said perplexed.
"Idiot, of course I"ll teach you as first it have many uses and second you would have to teach it to your future disciple." She glared at him but then added, "Of it"s uses, you can like use a magical circle of fire that will release fireb.a.l.l.s as long as supplied mana. Do you understand?"
"I can already do that without any magical circle or chant?" Ned said.
"I know, but can you release a thousand one consecutively without loosing focus? Let me demonstrate for you." She said as she turned her body at the direction of a small hill.
Her right hand suddenly had the magical circle and she raised it and pointed it at the hill.
She turned her head and grinned at him. Before suddenly a barrage of ice spears bombarded the hill. While she simply directed mana to the circle.
He knew at that moment what she meant. And he also knew that he had to learn this spell.
"I see you have understood now? Well then I will teach it to you later. If you learn it, you would be able to engrave on the magical circle any spell you would need so that you can fire it easily." Eline said, still smirking at him.
Non bothering with he focused on her words. He already knew that every magical circle is composed of words in a magical language. So he knew he can add many spells in.
"Now you should go rest. Tomorrow we will repeat what we did today, understood?" She said.
"Yes, master" Ned gave her a firm nod even if he was tired.
He climbed his tree as usual when Eline was gone. Then he entered the s.p.a.ce, and practiced his magic.

He thought about Lori while training his magic and how much he missed her.
On this world where he knew no one, she had loved him and gave him her all. Of course he will miss her, she was a keeper and he vowed to never let her go. She had even said that he is allowed to go after other women if he liked to as long as he doesn"t forget about her.
not that he thought he would like another girl.
but It was only at that time that he knew this world accepted polygamy.
It was only the second day after he left but he already missed her. In a few days he told Emmy to remind him to visit her incase he forgot. He wouldn"t of course, but as Lori was important he made some precautions.
.........
The next day.
In a deeper part of the forest than Ned and Eline went yesterday, you would find him fighting against some beasts as his master advised him.
Ned was fighting a giant lizard similar in shape to a crocodile.
This was a challenge to him, as the lizard was a rank 7, and he was restricted to use only magic.
Plus this type of lizard called Lacerta was known for their armor like skin.
Any of his spells weren"t capable of penetrating it, even using crystal spears.
He was now using his magic manipulation to make a crystal hand big enough to hold the beast for a few seconds.
A few seconds that are enough for Ned to take advantage and release some crystal spears from the ground at the beasts joints.
It"s joints would be the softest place on it"s body.
And even after he did so the beast didn"t appear to be badly hurt as it still charged at him aggressively.
Staying calm, just like his master instructed him, he made plans on how to take the beast down. He didn"t take into account how st.u.r.dy a rank 7 would be. But the fight still excited him to no end.
After a few exchanges between them with no injuries on both parties, Ned saw fit to end this fight, as he still had many other fights for today.
The lesson his master wanted him to learn today was how can he release singular area effect spells in a precise way.
Which was what he was doing targeting the joints of the beast.
Once again, casting some fire chains to hold the beast he targeted them to hold his hurt joins so that it can give him a few seconds.
Controlling his hands to be wind, he made a small tornado that was big enough to surround the beast, then he quickly changed his hands into crystal and made a spear that was guaranteed to kill the beast.
Infusing how much mana he can, without letting himself be drained as he had other fights left, he released the spear in a particular place in the lizard that was tossing around in the tornado.
The spear penetrated it from it"s neck, which was one of it"s unarmored parts.
He had aimed for it and released it precisely at there.
It died without even knowing what happened. While his master who suddenly appeared gave a nod of approval and pointed at somewhere and then was gone.
Soon Ned moved on to the next beast following where his master pointed at.
