With him moving from the river to the inside of the trees, he met many beasts, that he killed. He was going to keep hunting them, and then from time to time make a short stop to the dwarfs and deposit them there. He considered them his friends. Even his master indicated that both the secrets hidden in this forest were not harmful, if not pushed to the edge. Therefore he knew they were worth the friendship. If the gifts they gave were anything to go by.
He was good to his friends. Such was his character. Of course he would help anybody he could too, but he didn"t have a hero complex.
A hero complex was one where a person sacrifice himself to save many others, but Ned wouldn"t do such a thing. He pretty much preferred to stay alive.
But helping the dwarfs with their food problem, since he had what they need and he wasn"t lacking money, was basic human decency. Not to mention they even gave him things in payment.
He thought, while walking, about what is the other secret of the forest that his master implied would not be dangerous too.
There was still time to meet Lori. After all they made planes to meet in the evening, and it was still early for that.
So he strolled the forest and fought the beast while thankful that his master has minimized her presence around him to only when necessary. Even if he felt a bit guilty at that.
He had plans to talk to Lori about this problem, and as well as what Lucy is doing by getting close to her.
.........
Soon the time had come, and he since he wasn"t going to leave without giving a notice to his master, flew in the sky in the direction of where he felt his to be.

"Master, I"m going to be visiting Lori right now" Ned said as soon as he gave her his greeting when he reached her.
Then he gave a bow after she nodded. Not seeing any reason to get back down, he teleported just from there.
Teleportation, or rather the one from his technique, had a limitation.
So long as he travelled alone, then it was amazing as he could reach anyplace he knew and been to before giving he had enough mana.
However if he tried to take another person it was many times taxing. Not on his mana, but on his physique.
Even with all his training of his body, he found out that when he is teleporting he feels his weight multiplied by a number he didn"t know. But he felt like he could barely move under the huge weight.
Therefore when he experimented, he found out that the maximum number of people he could take with him at the moment was but two.
Otherwise he would risk loosing their touch and then that would be catastrophic as he wouldn"t know where he sent them.
He had to touch or hold a persons hands/shoulders for them to be taken with him.
His master though had no such limitation as she was using her s.p.a.ce affinity. She had told him that she could lock the s.p.a.ce around a number of people and teleport that whole locked s.p.a.ce, successfully transporting the people too.
In but a second his view changed to that of the gate of the castle of his sword master.
Telepathically connecting with Lori he made sure she knew he was here.
He would be spending the night with her, and then take her tomorrow to shop or other things, before he got back to his master in the eve.
Soon she came bubbling at him and surrounded him in a warm much wanted hug that he reciprocated.
Letting his hands wander he squeezed her b.u.t.t a bit and inhaled her scent greedily.
She did much the same with her hands wandering around his back.
"Is that the only thing you miss about me?" She teased him with a smile and a pinkish hue on her face.
"Of course not." Ned shook his head like she had wronged him. Before he squeezed her chest with his left hand. "I missed these too"
And that made the pink hue spread from her neck to her ears.
"Not now, there is a time and a place for that." She slapped his hands and pouted at the teasing of Ned.
Ned laughed a bit before he shared with her a short kiss and held her hands and started walking inside to talk with her about what he had been up to, and she the same.
.........
Two sighs echoed in empty air in two different places by two different people witnessing the same thing.
One of course was Ned"s master of the sword, as he too had come to meet Ned only to see him kiss his granddaughter.
He didn"t mind that in anyway, and his sigh was merely due to being ignored.
The second sigh was from the sky, high above the castle from Ned"s master, Eline.
She had a responsibility to protect Ned. Therefore she had to follow him, but once she teleported after him, she too chanced upon the scene of the short kiss.
She too didn"t mind of course but the coincidence of the events that happened along with Ned"s confused feelings about her, caused her to sigh.
