"You went into Ash City...?"

Mano tried to control his voice when questioning his daughter, as she had just gotten back from being kidnapped; and he didn"t want to scare her.

Mika stared at her father, not knowing what to say. The story she finished telling him had nothing about her going to Ash City.

"..umm..."

"Why did you enter that forbidden place?"

"Umm..."

"How did you even get there?"

"Umm...."

"What possible reason could you have to go there?"

"Umm..."

Mika was trying to come up with an answer to tell Mano, but he was firing off questions too quickly for her to think of a response to one.

Saavi wanted to help, but she thought she might make things worst.

Mano knew he was being too forceful, yet he couldn"t stop himself. His emotions were all over the place.

All the messages he had received since she came to the Steppe replayed in his head. From her awakening to her almost dying, then the war, and just when he thought she was safe she was kidnapped!

How was he supposed to remain calm knowing she went to in such a dangerous place.

He was seriously contemplating locking Mika away in the Amara household for a long time due to the amount of danger she has faced since coming here.

"Mikaela Crystalmist Amara...answer me now! Why were you at Ash City!?"

With her father being this serious, she knew the only way to make him stop was to...

*Waaawaaa* *Waawaaa*

"Why...*cries* are...*cries* you.....*hiccup* yelling....*sniffle* at meeeeee!?" Mika let loose the waterworks. With snot hanging from her nose and cries so loud Mano was afraid she would burst his eardrums, Mika caused a scene.

Ailwin thought he would back Mika into a corner, then he would be able to find out what happened in Ash City between her and Braeden.

However, how was he to know this girl would start crying at the top of her lungs.

"...okay, Mika...calm down....no one"s yelling at you..."

"*sniffle* Yes....*hiccup* you *sniffle* are!" Mika continues to cries loudly making everyone ears and heads begin to hurt.

"Mika, I just want to know why you went into Ash City?" Mano was embarra.s.sed, he never saw Mika act this way.

He guessed it must be due to all the stress from everything that has happened the last couple of days; maybe he was being too hard on her.

"That"s it...*sniffle*?"

"Yes...that"s all..."

"You....*hiccup* won"t yell at me?"

"I won"t yell at you..." Mano chuckled. He forgot his daughter has only turned thirteen a week ago. She was still his baby girl.

"And you won"t....*sniffle* punish me?" Mika put on her best puppy eyes on for her father.

"Yes, yes, I won"t punish you."

*Sniffle* "You can"t take it back..."

"I won"t, I won"t, now tell me why, okay...?" Mano wiped the tears from Mika"s eyes as he coddles her.

"En..."

"Okay, so what happened? Why did you go to Ash City?"

"Well...what had happened was..."

"Yes." Everyone in the room hung on to every word that was coming out of Mika"s mouth.

"General Gilwenys dare me to go inside!"

"What!?"

Though Mano was the one that shouted, this time it was Ailwin who spilled tea all over himself.

"General Gilwenys dared you to go inside Ash City?" Mano turned to face Prince Ailwin with a penetrating look.

From the time he entered the room, he didn"t like this prince, who gave his daughter secret looks and called her by her name so casually.

Now, come to find out he"s General is the reason why his baby girl was in Ash city in the first place.

"Fifth prince, what is the meaning of this!?" Mano stood in front of Mika, blocking Ailwin"s view of her.

"Lord Mano, I think there is some kind of misunderstanding here...."

"Daddy, they bullied me the whole way here...." Look at Saavi and Jonas, she gave them both a sharp look to comply with her statement.

Saavi didn"t want to do it, but she couldn"t leave her young miss hanging, besides she could tell prince Ailwin was the one who started it.

"It"s true Lord Mano, everything young miss has said is true. That General called young miss names, saying she had no manners at all and that you didn"t do a good job of teaching her to respect her seniors...."

When Saavi finished, Mika looked at Jonas.

"Oh...ummm....he also tried to steal her food...." Jonas didn"t know what to say, the first thing he could think of was the night Braeden asked for stew.

"What!?...he even tried to steal food from her?"

Braeden who was outside standing guard was sneezing up a storm.

*achoo!* *achoo!* *achoo!*

"General, are you alright...?"

"I think so, maybe I"m just allergic to some here."

In the meeting hall, Ailwin was facing a raging clan leader and father.

"Prince Ailwin, I would like an explanation for your General"s actions. Is this how the Shadow Wolves army operates under your supervision? You say it"s a misunderstanding, but how it is three people are saying the same thing...?"

Ailwin looked to the left side on Mano"s body; Mika stuck out her tongue and raised her middle finger at him.

Why is she raising her finger at me? What is that suppose to mean? Ailwin was confused. He knew what sticking out one"s tongue meant, but the other gesture was lost on him.

Seeing that Ailwin wasn"t paying attention to him, but rather he was looking to the left of him. Mano followed Ailwin"s eyesight down to see Mika wiping her eyes and with her head hanging low.

Mika rearrange her facial expression when she caught sight of her father"s arm turning towards her.

She was lucky, a second later and Mano would have caught her f**k you expression to Ailwin.

"Why are you staring at my daughter? Are you trying to intimidate her into not talking...!"

Though the other side is a prince, he is the Amara clan"s leader. The Amara clan has always had a seat on the royal council. If Ailwin can"t give him some answers, Mano has no problem bring this matter up at the next hearing.

"...Lord Mano, I think Mikaela has-"

"It"s MISS AMARA...to you!"

Taken aback by Mano"s correction of his address of Mika, Ailwin stared at the furious father standing before him.

He never before witnessed a father stand up for his child, mostly due in part to his own father"s lack of care towards him.

Separated from his family since he was nine, Ailwin has long grown up without the coddling of a parent.

It was because of this miscalculation on his part that he is on the receiving end of an upset father now.
