Wyn led a group of Lord Kendel"s men to the Udava"s barracks, giving them clothes and armor of the house guards to disguise themselves.

Once changed, he took them towards Mika"s residence out in the open, without anyone being the wiser that the clan"s estate was already occupying the enemy.

At Mika"s residence, Kaze and Mika were resting in the general room after a vigorous sparring match, as Saavi was bust in the kitchen preparing their dinner.

"I let you win..." Kaze said, looking over at Mika"s smug face.

"Yeah, yeah...kept telling yourself that, it might come true." Mika rolled her eyes as she casually tossed his comment aside.

"I did let you win!... You don"t actually think you can beat me fair and square, do you?" Kaze didn"t believe that Mika would be able to win a sword match against him. He used to be the captain of the guards, for crying out loud!

Remembering back to their sparring match, Kaze grew even more annoyed.

At first, they were having a friendly shooting contest, but they quickly grew bored. Mika suggested they pick up their swords and have a sparring match. Thinking of repaying Mika back for the humiliation from before, pulling off his pants, Kaze readily agreed.

Taking out their personal swords, Mika with her double-ended blade sword and Kaze with his Deathstalker sword, they both faced each other. This was the first time their swords have ever gone against each other, and Kaze was planning to give Mika a good beating.

Going on the offense, Kaze attacked Mika relentlessly as he sought to intimidate her with his excellent sword techniques.

That was the case until he realized Mika was able to block all of his moves one by one as if they were nothing.

"Come on, is this it? I thought you wanted to get back at me for kicking your a.s.s last time...You have to do better than this if you want that to happen! Hahaha!" Mika mocked as she avoided another one of his blows.

Mika sent a silent thanks Drako way for all his nagging. If he didn"t force her to learn new sword techniques, Mika feared her a.s.s would have been whopped by now.

Highly frustrated by a little girl who can barely hold up her own sword ridiculing him, Kaze up his speed. Giving Mika a test of the techniques he used to train the Amara guards with back when he was still their captain.

Under a lot more pressure, Mika reined in her gloating and focused on every move Kaze sent her way.

"What"s wrong, not smiling anymore? I thought you could handle anything I sent your way...Hahahaha!" Kaze blows were strong and steady as they continually sent Mika retreating.

Sweat soaked her clothes and pasted to her back as she strived to paid attention to Kaze"s every move just to block his attacks in time. Being pushed back time and again, Mika felt the exertion on her newly awoken body.

Seeing victory within sight, Kaze lunge to attack Mika center, unfortunately, he didn"t see a rock with its pointy head sticking up from the ground.

Mika could read Kaze"s final attack, but she was too exhausted to lift her arms up any longer to block it. Thinking of what she could do to impede his win, Mika spotted where Kaze"s foot was about to land, and she smiled.

Right when his foot landed on top of the pointy rock, Kaze let out a sharp howl and lost his momentum and balance at the same time. Mika s.h.i.+fted her body and sent a roundhouse kick right to Kaze"s face.

*Pow*

Kaze was knocked down to the ground. Silent entered the little garden as Mika waited for Kaze to come around.

When he finally did, he looked at Mika in indignation.

"My win!" Mika said as she and Saavi went inside the house. Kaze threw nothing but hexes at that small back as he watched it walk away.

Which brings us to their present conversation...

Kaze huffed in displeasure, his face still held a bit of pain from her kick, and it even left a red shoe mark on his cheek.

"If I didn"t beat you, then what did?" Mika"s smirk did nothing to ease the irritation he felt at having to lose to her again in such an embarra.s.sing way.

How could he possibly lose to a rock! He was a captain of the guards at one point! Refusing to admit that a tiny rock had anything to do with his loss in the match, Kaze said no more.

It"s better to lose to a little girl than a tiny rock!

Sweaty and tired, Mika wanted to take a shower and then a nap before dinner. Making her way towards her room, Mika just touched the door mob when Kaze stood up and ran to the front door. Seeing his strange behavior made Mika pause.

"There are a group of people heading this way...." Kaze came back, reporting to Mika his findings.

"Is it Lord Tasar?" Mika thought Lord Tasar came to give them an update on the situation with Lady Vanya or the war.

"I don"t know, but I doubt it. The defense enchantment I laid around the residence can only give me the number of people and where they are coming from. It can"t give me their ident.i.ties..." Kaze explained his safety measures put in place after coming back from the meeting with Lord Tasar and Joanos.

"How many?"

"Eight."

"Are you sure they are coming to us? Where did they come from?"

"Yes, and we are the only house this way. They have already past the neighbors without stopping..."

Mika nodded her head, "Whether it"s friend or foe, Let"s prepare to welcome our guests..."
