Ruven had teleported himself back into the hallway after receiving the message. He had hoped that he would be able to get a few days of rest after completing the initial mission, but his bosses seem to be in a rush.

He had stayed on the rooftop a while longer after receiving the message to clear his head and get back into character before coming back to meet with Prince Ailwin.

Making sure no one else was around, Ruven lean against the door once more. This time he was using an earworm. The earworm when placed in a person"s ear will allow that to here conversations from thirty meters away, let alone from behind a door.

Fortunately, unlike last time where he was interrupted at the beginning, this time no one interrupted him. However, he still couldn"t hear any noise coming from inside.

What the h.e.l.l? Did they all go to sleep?

Contemplating for a minute on whether to go inside or not, he decided to take the risk and transport himself into the room. With any luck they"ll all actually be asleep to notice him popping up inside.

Making sure once more that no one was in the hallway, Ruven attempted to teleport himself inside.

Yet, every time he tried he ended up in the same spot he began.

What the f.u.c.k is going on!?

This was the first time he has ever come across something something wrong with his powers.

Thinking of the rooftop, Ruven teleported himself there, then thinking about the cafeteria, he teleported himself there. He didn"t care that someone might see him teleporting himself all over the building, he was more worried that his powers weren"t working.

After transporting himself to over a dozen places with no problem, he brought himself back to the hallway he originally start from.

Looking at the door like it was his enemy, Ruven tried again to enter the room.

However like before, he couldn"t get in.

Mika, who was putting away the blood samples her took from Ailwin, felt a slight b.u.t.ting force of pressure coming from the barrier surrounding the room.

"Someone is trying to break in."

Ailwin paused in rubbing away the b.o.o.boo he seem to think he has on his arm.

"Do you know who it is?" He asked as he started putting back on his s.h.i.+rt.

"If I were to guess...I would have to say it"s our little delivery boy…" Ailwin didn"t get to see, but she watched from room"s door cam as Ruven had vanished from sight after she closed the door in his face.

"What do you want to do?" Ailwin could see the wheels in Mika"s head was turning with a plan.

"Well, since we are infested with rats, lets go set up some traps…"

There were things that they wanted and needed to know. The only way they were going to get answers, was to either ask the King or interrogate his spies. Mika like the later option as she wasn"t ready to face the King just yet.

"Okay." Ailwin felt a boost of confidence go through him.Am I actually depending on this little one?Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.

Ailwin didn"t want to answer that question himself, but for some reason he felt she"ll be able to solve the infection problem which will free up his mind to focus on other things, like catching the King"s schemes.

Walking out of the bathroom, Mika filled the group on what was happening.

"Shouldn"t we just kill him?" Celaena asked, making everyone look twice at the little butcher.

The guys in the group were going to say "no", but Mika spoke before they could.

"Let"s torture him for information first...then kill him." Mika responded, which made Celaena nod and give a thumbs up.

The three men in the group suddenly felt like they had lost things to these two pet.i.te girls but didn"t know what.

"I"ll leave handling the "Advisors" to you guys while Kaze and I will try to come up a cure." Mika looked at the box in her hand containing Ailwin"s blood.

She could almost safely a.s.sume that Ailwin"s body was immune to whatever this virus was, which would make sense for the King to send him into the city.

If the king knows his son is immune to this virus, how did he find out?...Or is he making guesses like we are?Mika threw these questions to the side. She didn"t want to dive into the King"s thinking just yet.

She didn"t want to tell Ailwin or the group her thoughts, though she was pretty sure Ailwin has already figured out why he wasn"t sick like Braeden.

"You sure you won"t need more help?" Ailwin asked, he concerned that she was giving herself too much responsibility.

"Yea, with Kaze and the healers here, I think that should be enough. Besides how will we explain why everyone is inside the healer"s center?"

"Okay, but what should we do about him?" Ailwin pointed at the room"s front door.

"Mmm…"

As Mika and Ailwin were discussing Ruven"s faith, Kaze was facing a headache of his own.

In the deceased Governor"s office, Kaze was being stared at by twenty "agronomist" who had snuck out from the Shadow Wolves" camp.

"Where is Prince Ailwin?" Adamar asked as he looked at Kaze with contempt written all over his face and in his voice.

"Why are you here? No one has given you permission to enter this city…"

"I don"t answer to you nor Prince Ailwin, who I answer to stands way above everyone here." Straightening his back, Adamar confronted Kaze"s questioning remarks.
