I looked at Sara and put my hands together as if I was praying. But I was pleading with her to forgive me. I really did not want to have another lecture this morning especially after what had happened with my mother. "I know Sara I"m so sorry, but you wouldn"t believe what happened!" I said in a whimpering voice, hoping she would take pity on me. I explained what had happened and she started laughing so hard, that everyone on the bus was now looking our way.

"That is too funny! Ahahaha!" Sara said with tears in her eyes as she continued to laugh. "That is what you get for not getting up by yourself. You are seventeen now you know and you will be turning eighteen tomorrow. With this being your last year of high school you really need to act your age..." She said in a lecturing tone.

"And you are supposed to be my friend!!! How can you laugh at the horrible treatment I received!!! People are staring at us you know cut it out!!!! So embarra.s.sing... Grrr... She is lucky she is so cute! Otherwise... I... Well, actually I wouldn"t do anything just because she is a girl..."

My inner dialogue was running wild on me. But I didn"t say anything out loud but instead just let her continue to lecture me while I dazed off into the distance as I looked out through the window on the other side of her.

It took about ten minutes to get to the school. My school day was the same as always, teachers went to the front of the room, lectured us on stuff that we will probably never use in our entire lives, and expected us not to fall asleep in the process. I spent most of my time looking out the window wondering if I would be able to find any good books today at the library. During lunch, I chatted with my friends doing all the normal stuff any high school girl would do and then once again it was nothing but more lectures which meant nap time for me.

"Yes, Yes... I know... I shouldn"t sleep in cla.s.s sue me....!"

On the way home, I said bye to Sara who usually went to a part-time job after school. I, on the other hand, went straight to the library hoping to find a good book to dive into. On my way to the library, I noticed a small new shop that looked to be a bookstore. My curiosity got the better of me and I headed in hoping to find a treasure. The inside of the book store seemed rather odd. Even though it was a new store, the shelves were covered in dust and cobwebs hung from the ceiling. There was an old lady in a black one-piece dress behind the counter. Her face was half-hidden under her mop-top head hairstyle. She reminded me of a witch from fairy tale stories like Hansel and Gretel. The old lady smiled at me as I entered and went back to doing what she was doing. But what surprised me the most about this shop was even though it seemed creepy I felt rather comfortable here. The smell of old dusty books filled the air. It really soothed my senses. There were other knickknacks besides books as well but I think they were more for decoration then selling.

I wandered around a bit just browsing the shelves. Sliding my finger across the spines of the books as I headed to the back of the store. The shelves were filled with all types of books not in any particular order, from war stories to romance and more. As I got to the back of the store one book really stuck out to me. It was not fully on the shelf but sticking out a bit. It was almost as if it was calling my name. I reached up and pulled it off the shelf and turned to the cover to read the t.i.tle. "Magical Transference..." I said out loud. I opened it up and started reading the first page. "Magical transference is a spell to transport the caster anywhere they wish to go." Muttering to myself as I read the first line. I couldn"t believe it. Was this actually a book on magic. I closed the book and smiled brightly. I was trying hard to hide my excitement. I walked back up to the counter where the old lady was and placed the book on the counter.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.

"Excuse me how much is this?" I asked giving her a small smile. The old lady looked up at me from the book she was reading. She looked at the book and then looked back at me.

"You sure you want this book young lady?" The old lady said in a hoa.r.s.e tone. I looked at her for a second and just nodded my head. She kind of freaked me out with how she talked. Her voice was rough and was kind of creepy in a sense. "The books here choose their owners so just take it. But be warned all things are not as they seem." The old lady let out a cackle of a laugh as she pushed the book to me and went back to doing what she was doing. I stood there confused for a second."Ya deaf girl? Go on and take it." She had turned back to me and made a shooing motion with her hands. Still confused I picked the book up and walked out of the store. Stopping in front of the store I realized I had never said thank you. So I turned around but was met with a surprise. The store that I had just came out of was gone and in its place was a big sign that said office s.p.a.ce available.

"What the h.e.l.l where did it go!?!" Clutching the book in my hands I stood there completely dumbfounded. I gazed at the book and decided it was best to just head home for the day.

I got home a lot earlier than normal. No one was home yet so I just headed upstairs to my bedroom and threw my stuff on the floor and fell on my bed face first. I was still in shock at what just happened but it also excited me mainly because it seemed magical. I got up to get the book that I had received from the mystery shop and sat on my bed and started reading it.

"Magical transference is a spell to transport the caster anywhere they wish to go. The spell needs a large magic circle in order to be used. The caster"s thoughts must perceive the place in which they want to be transferred to. Any error on this part and the caster will be transferred to another destination."

I continued reading until I came to a page with some diagrams of magic circles. There were two magic circles in total. I couldn"t understand the writing underneath the drawings but from what I gathered from the book was one was a transfer circle and the other was a destination circle. Meaning you needed one circle to transfer you, but you also needed a circle to act as the destination. It went on to say that the magic circle had to be a minimum of thirty two centimeters in diameter. The whole concept of what I was reading really excited me. I turned back to the page with the magic circles and scanned it into my computer so that I could blow the image up a bit since it was a bit too small to make out the fine details. I printed out both magic circles and decided I would try drawing one of them on my own. Taking some chalk from my desk I went down to the bas.e.m.e.nt of my house and cleared a s.p.a.ce out so that I could practice drawing the magic circle. I taped the copy of the magic circle to a box so I could look at it while I was drawing it out. I only brought the transfer circle to start with since I knew I wouldn"t be able to do this for long before someone came home and I would get in a lot of trouble for drawing on the bas.e.m.e.nt floor.

It took about thirty minutes for me to finish drawing the circle after making quite a few mistakes in the process. After it was done I stood back for a second to admire what I had accomplished. "Yes! My first magic circle!" I shouted in excitement.

Without a second thought, I walked to the middle of the circle and started pretending like I was chanting a spell. "Oh, holy one of the lost ages. Please bestow upon me your gracious blessing and send me to a place I have always dreamed of." I yelled as I reached my hands into the sky. Standing there I admired what I had just created one more time. Then decided that I should clean up my mess before someone came home. As I was about to walk outside of the magic circle, a bright white transparent light surrounded me and rose into the air and blocked me from being able to move outside the magic circle.

"Hey what"s going on here!!" I said in surprise. I pushed hard on the wall of light trying to get out. The light got brighter and brighter and was freaking me out. The light got so bright that it was blinding me and I was forced to shut my eyes. I started smashing my fist off the wall of light. But to no avail was I able to move outside the magic circle. There was a huge flash of light that I could see even with my eyes closed.

When the light finally grew dim enough for me to open my eyes. My surroundings had completely changed. So here I was on this platform in this hot, dry desert plateau. Not knowing where the h.e.l.l i was. And here I am back to where I started. I will say it again. "Where the h.e.l.l am I !?"
