To make sure it was safe to enter the building I already had caught a Bol"cul earlier. Bol"culs were small animals that had recently surfaced on Cora. This was one of the main sources of meat for the people of Cora. The one I had in my hand was going to be used to test the air within the building. I quickly formed a small hole in the window just big enough to stick the head of the Bol"cul into and then quickly closed the hole so that the Bol"culs head was stuck on the other side of the window. After I did that, Rio and I sat by the window and watched. We did nothing else but observe the Bol"cul to see if there were any changes. The Bol"Cul was flopping around trying to free itself from its current situation. I felt bad for treating an animal in such a way but it was necessary to make sure the building was safe for them to enter. An hour pa.s.sed and still no changes in the Bol"cul. I turned to Rio and asked: "What do you think? Should be safe?"
"Should be... If for some reason there is some kind of poison in the air well. At least we will die together..." Rio gave me a wry smile. She was right though, to be honest, I would rather die with someone then die alone.
"Okay, then I will open it fully." As I said that I placed my hand on the window and used my destruction magic on it making it vanish into thin air.
The caught Bol"cul quickly ran away after it was once again free. Luckily it ran into the building meaning it should be safe. Rio and I walked into the building slowly as we tested the floors to make sure they were st.u.r.dy. But it seemed the whole building was made out of one block of the same material. Knowing this I let out a sigh of relief. Because it meant that the floors would naturally be solid as a rock since the building itself was made of rock.
Stale air filled our noses as we slowly walked in pulling the sled behind us. The floors were covered in dust and pieces of paper. In front of us was a stairwell where the stairs leading to the next floor were filled with sand all the way to the ceiling. This was somewhat of a good thing for Rio and me since it would mean that there most likely were no demonic beasts in this building.
We were using a type of glowing rock that had a really long and hard to p.r.o.nounce name to it. Rio told me to just call them glow rocks. Because well, that was what they did. They were really bright and lit up the immediate surroundings really well. They were not as good as the good old fashioned flashlight that people on earth have. But at least they did not need any power.
It seemed that everything was made from the rock that the building was carved out of. The floor, the walls, the doors, even the furniture was made from it within this hallway. There was not much in the hall we were in so we started off with one of the rooms to the side. To my surprise, the door easily opened. What filled my view was a small office. There was a desk and chair with papers strewn all over the place. It did not seem like these papers were spread out like this by a person but more by the wind. During the time these section of the building was above the sands, a burst of wind must have scattered the papers all over.
Rio reached down and picked up one of the papers from the floor but a frown quickly appeared on her face. "Sora, I can"t read this can you?"
"Umm let me see." I could tell right away the language was Dumacan. I slowly read through the paper. "Seems to be a paper giving a report on a project. It has data giving a report on a project called Sola… I can"t make much sense of it the only thing I can understand is that it might be some kind of artificial life form." I let out a long sigh. I couldn"t help but think that the Dumacans really liked to play G.o.d a little too much.
"Artificial life form?" Rio"s eyes lit up. Her obsession with knowing about the ancients was starting to take over.
"Un… How about we collect all the papers here and bundled them up. We can go through them later slowly. We might find some useful information within." To be honest for a race that was able to play G.o.d I was surprised that they still used paper.
After gathering all the papers on the floor and stacking them, we had two huge stacks going that reached Rio"s waist. We carefully stored them on the sled before we continued to look around the room. We did not want to miss anything. Everything here was useful to us. Even the paper. If what was written on it was useless I could take the paper and use it for material to make new paper with my creation magic. So there was not one thing that was worthless in this place. To me, this place was a gold mine.
The only thing that was different from outside this room was that the desk in this room was not made of the same thing as the building was. It was made out of some other kind of material. I really couldn"t tell what the material was. It was like a kind of rubber or metal mixed together with a gla.s.s top. The seat behind the desk looked just like any other office chair you would find on earth. I sat down in it and then placed my hands on the desk of which when I did the top of the desk lit up!

"Sora..." Rio was scared by the sudden light. She had no idea if I had triggered some kind of defense mechanism or not.
"It"s fine… I think… I think this might be a computer." I said as I furrowed my brow as I studied all the little icons that were being displayed on the desk"s gla.s.s top.
"A com… pu… ter… " Rio was lost. She had no idea what a computer was.
"Ah... Sorry! Yeah, a computer. It was like that storage device that you handed to me back at our home. Except it can do a lot more than just store a bit of information. " I explained as I continued to try to figure out how to use this so called computer in front of me.
As I was scanning the desktop I spotted what looked to be a folder icon that had the name Sola under it. I pressed the icon with my finger and a light screen shot up in front of me with file upon file on it.
