Chapter 746: Overzealous Upgrading
Ye Lingchen’s att.i.tude toward it improved a lot in an instant. From Fish Language to other animals’ language, he has Animal Taming which he could use in tandem to make those animals his own legions of spies or pioneers!
It was especially so in an unknown area like Miracle Island. Having the magical ability to speak beast practically put him on the same level as a G.o.d.
Anything produced by the system was surely of unquestionable quality.
Ye Lingchen felt comfortable. Most of the pressure in his heart has disappeared, so…it was another round of lucky draws!
A hundred thousand popularity points were used up again.
The yellow glow once again flickered quickly across all basic knowledge at a rapid speed.
Come on! What will it be?
The glow slowed gradually and Ye Lingchen took a deep breath.
Ding!
The soft sound was followed by the glow freezing on Soaring Wind Kick!
Kungfu! It was the Soaring Wing Kick!
Ye Lingchen’s heart burst into cheers.
Based on his guesses, Soaring Wind Kick was above the same level as Parkour. Once the Soaring Kick was upgraded, a qualitative leap would immediately take place and his strength would also improve tremendously, especially his confidence in making an escape.
After the light flashed—
Soaring Wind Kick was replaced by a new skill.
Windwalk (Basic): This leg technique can exceed the speed of the wind and enable you to catch G.o.ds!
‘Exceed the speed of wind’ referred to his speed, while ‘catch G.o.ds’ referred to his attacks. The Soaring Wind Kick was a technique that combined both light strength with attack, and the same was true after advancement.
Windwalk. The name alone showed just how awesome the skill was.
The next moment, a bunch of information poured into Ye Lingchen’s mind, as if there was a figure swaying there. His body shape was unpredictable and moved constantly, leaving a trail of afterimages wherever he pa.s.sed.
A quarter of an hour later, Ye Lingchen opened his eyes and felt overwhelmed. There was one more Kungfu he could practice in the future.
He had mastered all the theoretical skills Windwalk, and the next step was to train his legs and control the power of spiritual energy in his legs.
Ye Lingchen smiled and no longer hesitated to continue upgrading!
On the third draw, Russian evolved into Bear Language (Basic).
Fourth, Excavation became Earth Spirit Const.i.tution (Basic). That truly came as a surprise to Ye LIngchen, as he had no idea when that Excavation skill upgraded to 100%. Could it be like digging tunnels, moving mountains and that sort of thing? It unexpectedly evolved into Earth Spirit Const.i.tution.
For the fifth skill, Indonesian evolved into a Cow Language (Basic).
The sixth, Thai had evolved into Pig Language (Basic).
Ye Lingchen was powerless to ridicule those two successive language upgrades, with pig and cow coming at almost the same time. Although the proportion of skills that were related to a country’s language was higher compared to other skills, the system just had to play him out like that.
For the seventh skill, Vietnamese evolved into Elephant Language (Basic).
F*CKKKKKK!
Ye Lingchen was somewhat in disarray. ‘Please don’t mess with me like that even though I’m starting to find language useful.’
For the eighth time, the system might have heard Ye Lingchen’s complaints because it finally stopped giving him language.
It was Technology!
Technology had evolved into High-Level Intelligence.
A burst of explosive information subsequently flooded into Ye Lingchen’s mind in what could only be described as a ma.s.sive influx of data.
The number of language-based information had also poured into his brain earlier, but it was all easily accepted by his brain capacity. For High-Level Intelligence however, Ye Lingchen had to stop for a moment before waking up half an hour later.
It was far too high-level and cryptic to understand. Such technology exceeded the limits of humankind, even going beyond the scope of the current scientific and technological knowledge.
There were still many areas of knowledge where Ye Lingchen was unable to conquer. Many smart products were still only in the preliminary stages, but his mind was very clear, and the problems that plague him were solved immediately. Breakthroughs were even possible!
For example, a smart home robot could be made to resemble a person, sans the rigidity and impersonal qualities. Once skin was put on, its similarities to a human would be even more striking.
There was also a slight foreshadowing of Iron Man, whom he Ye LIngchen had always been obsessed with. Although it could not be manufactured just yet, it was possible to build simple machine equipment. Such equipment could further enhance the defensive qualities of Miracle Island, and Miracle Island could be transformed into a technological island in the future.
The lucky draw continued for the ninth time!
It was yet another surprise.
Equipment Manufacturing had evolved into Refining: Offense (Basic). With that, his skills for refining equipment would be complete.
Moreover, Refining could be combined with High-Level Intelligence, to create machines that might have better defenses and stronger attacks.
Ye Lingchen felt that as Refining and High-Level Intelligence continued to evolve, he could definitely master a way of using spiritual energy instead of electricity. Then, he could finally take a group of Iron Men into the Void Realm.
Many of the basic knowledge were just upgrades, but the gains were huge and he did not need to use too much of his popularity value. The cost performance ratio was extremely high.
Unfortunately… Chinese Medicine remained elusive.
Time to grit his teeth and continue!
For the tenth time, Camouflage upgraded to a Breath Control (Basic).
Camouflage was one of the training subjects in the Warrior’s Department. It enabled one to hide oneself in various environments and avoid ambushes better, making it difficult for the enemy to find them. For example, they could hide in a tree in the forest, or they could just put on a green hat and lie flat on the gra.s.s.
The upgrade seemed rather unspectacular for laymen because it was not the so-called Invisibility, but the concept was an entirely different one compared to martial artists.
In addition to using their vision, martial artists rely more on perception. A person who hid in a tree could easily be discovered by martial artists. With Breath Control, Ye Lingchen could restrain his Qi to the point that it would be difficult for martial artists to detect him.
If Ye Lingchen had that skill earlier, he would not have been discovered by Sung-Yoon Lee when he hid in the ocean earlier.
That skill was impressive, but it was a pity…that he had yet to get Chinese Medicine.
‘Doesn’t matter! Let’s do this for the eleventh time!’
Ye Lingchen took a deep breath and pressed go again. He would not stop unless he upgraded Chinese Medicine!
The yellow glow danced around. It slowly slowed down under Ye Lingchen’s gaze until it finally came to a halt!
At that moment, Ye Lingchen’s pupils shrank suddenly and his breathing became hurried.
Chinese Medicine!
Ye LIngchen felt as though everything he did had paid off. He never expected that he would actually end up getting it.
With a glow of the light, Chinese Medicine was finally replaced by Alchemy.
Alchemy (Basic): mastery of basic alchemy’s folk remedies and refining methods.
Alchemy! It was Alchemy! Nothing else could complement his Elixir Pavilion better.
Ye Lingchen felt ecstatic in his heart as he received a ma.s.sive influx of information about alchemy.
Detoxification Pills, Bone Tempering Pills, Vitality Pills and various other pills were imprinted in Ye Lingchen’s mind one after another. After some time, Ye Lingchen reluctantly opened his eyes.
The gains…were huge!
The herbs needed for those elixir prescriptions were not those that were exclusively available in the Void Realm, and the reason for that was likely because his Alchemy was still only at the basic level. Therefore, Chinese herbs such as century-old ginseng, knotweed, millennium-old ginseng, and saffron were among the main ingredients. Once refined into elixirs, the efficacy of those herbs would reach their peak and their properties would also undergo a qualitative change!
