No one brought up Liwei at all during dinner. They talked a lot about the past and their university day. About what happened after they graduated and what they did for work, and many other things.
But somehow, all of them tacitly avoided the name "Liwei" in their conversation.
Zhong Yu was looking intently at her. His eyebrows were slightly furrowed, his eyes sunken instantly. Lu Qian could only stayed silent for a long while, before he finally replied with a plain "Oh" and Feifei just stayed unusually quiet, not saying anything at all.
Shao Yan felt awkward, but she did not have any other choice. Because sooner or later, she had to say it out anyway. This was her new life now. She would not take anything for granted anymore. And she would definitely not hide Li Xiqing away from her friends.
She was happy with this new relations.h.i.+p and she wanted her friends to know about them.
She was about to say something when she saw the gla.s.s door opened and a familiar figure walked in.
He saw her right away. Shao Yan had already opened her mouth to say something to the people on the table about her new relations.h.i.+p, but she quickly closed it when she spotted him.
She let out a very gentle smile, and the three of them who saw her smile, swiftly turned their head to the direction she was smiling at.
Li Xiqing had been restless ever since he finished his conference call with Martin and Karl. Once his focus was back to the present, he looked around his living room and remembered Yan Yan. He remembered that she was meeting her university friends for dinner now. He glanced at the time. 10 o"clock. Perhaps it was still too early to pick her up.
He softly sighed and leaned back on the couch for a while. He stared at the ceiling, and felt bored, he did not know what to do now. He stretched his neck from side to side, and slowly stood up. He decided to take a shower to calm himself down.
After shower, he walked to the kitchen to grab some water, and he saw her cup from this morning was still laying there on the kitchen counter with its lid still uncovered. He had nagged her this morning to cover it up. He softly sighed again, and walked over to place the lid back on top of the cup.
But even after cold drinks and cold shower, he was still feeling anxious. He walked around his apartment, while looking for things to keep him distracted. He turned on the TV and kept switching the channels around, but he could not find anything interesting to watch.
He threw the remote on the side and leaned back lazily on the sofa. He looked up to the ceiling and softly sighed. Unconsciously, his eyesight drifted to the candle figurines that Yan Yan had ordered for them. She had placed it neatly on the bookshelf next to the TV. He stared at the little lady who was sitting on the lap of the guy, she was leaning on him with full of trust.
Suddenly, he got up from the sofa and walked to the kitchen counter. He took his car keys and decided to drive to where Yan Yan was.
When he arrived, he parked his car right outside the restaurant, and turned to look inside the restaurant from the gla.s.s windows, searching for her.
He saw her right away.
His Yan Yan was smiling and chatting happily with her friends. She was laughing while showing that gesture again. Whenever his Yan Yan laughed, she would slightly lift her hand to cover her mouth, and her head would tilt to the side a little.
He saw his Yan Yan"s eyes curved and sometimes, she would chuckle or grin at whatever the girl next to her say to the table.
He could not see who else were sitting with her; and he was feeling so anxious.
He kept telling himself to trust her. He kept reminding himself of her commitment to their relations.h.i.+p; her promise to him. And then, his agitated heart gradually calmed down.
He put both hands on top of the steering wheel and slowly leaned his forehead on them and breathed in and out slowly.
He tried to distract himself; he started to think about the issues with j.a.pan office, to think about what to do with her this weekend, where to bring her to hunt pictures next week, or many other things.
He took out his phone and tried to read his work emails. But in the end, his gaze would keep returning back to Yan Yan. He kept missing her, wanting to see more of her.
"Her smile was so different tonight. She looked younger. Perhaps...more youthful?" he silently thought.
Probably because she was talking to her university friends, she was unconsciously brought back to those years, and her demeanor was also changed.
Should he be worried that her heart would change as well?
He was f-ing restless!
Was that guy also with her tonight?
What did they talk about?
How did she feel about it?
Did they reminisce about the past?
Will her feelings changed?
Li Xiqing was reminded of her past, and his anger slowly surged again. He squinted his eyes while scanning the people around Yan Yan. If Liwei was really there, what should he do, how should he protect her? How much hurt he should inflict on the b.a.s.t.a.r.d?
How nice it would have been if they have met earlier. She was so pretty in that picture he saw at Eternity Frame. With her short hair, she looked so cute. Would they end up together, if they have met earlier? How would their relations.h.i.+p be?
He softly sighed again, and decided to watched some TV dramas by streaming online from his phone. He didn"t know how long had it been, when he finally able to concentrate on doing something else to distract himself. When suddenly her text message came in, and he opened it right away.
"Are you asleep? I am almost done here."
