Chapter 62 - Go-ahead
Davi was dumbfounded for a moment as her eyes were glued to the man standing at the doorway but as soon as she heard the dial tone, signaling that the call had ended, she finally snapped awake.
She slowly put her cellphone down and she felt her ears suddenly heating up as the man started to walk closer to her.
That moment, Davi"s emotions were getting ahead of herself. Sei"s appearance was like magic, a "now you see me, now you don"t" kind of trick, making her temporarily lose her brain"s ability to process things. While Sei was getting closer, time just seemed to slowed down for Davi and she could only watch him come closer and closer, her mind completely blank.
Somehow, the peaceful yet melancholic atmosphere a moment ago became somewhat dramatic. The masked man in black was gazing at the girl on the couch as he slowly walked towards her, while the girl wearing a large white t-s.h.i.+rt just sat there, waiting for his approach. It was a scene that was perfect for a movie, as if they were two people secretly longing for each other.
However, the movie-like scenario didn"t last long. Out of nowhere, the large face of a shameless someone suddenly popped out in front of Davi, instantly destroying the emotional atmosphere. Zaki was like the uncooperative third wheel who was more excited to witness a couple"s brawl than a romantic play.
He stood just in front of her before Sei could even get near her.
"h.e.l.lo, young miss. I heard you said you wanted to beat the young master. Is that true?"
The first statement she heard from this soldier looking third wheel immediately stunned her. What the h.e.l.l was he talking about?
That moment, Davi suddenly felt like he wanted to beat this man instead. However, when she finally remembered the words she said that night, she gasped and her eyes reflexively roamed around as if she was looking for someone.
At that time, the young man YiJin had just stepped through the entrance when Davi"s glare immediately caught him, causing him to feel a sudden chill.
YiJin instantly went pale and putting his palms together, he mouthed the word sorry while his pretty face turned terribly apologetic before he retreated like a trembling little puppy.
After seeing the boy"s regretful face, Davi could only sigh before she looked at the man looking like an expectant gossiping auntie in front of her.
"T-that was…" Davi couldn"t continue talking because Sei casually pulled the guy away from her, as if he was some unnecessary baggage blocking his way.
After that, he stood very close to her as he gazed at her, intently.
"Did I upset you?" he asked, sounding as though he was trying to confirm it.
As soon as she heard him, Davi felt like her face was on fire. She suddenly felt embarra.s.sed, but she still nodded honestly.
Looking at her red face, Sei sat beside her and continued, "I will let you beat me so go ahead."
Hearing his statement, Davi"s eyes slowly widened in disbelief.
"H-huh?" What did he just say?
