Chapter 276 - The One Who Fixed Me
Port Queen.
Davi, who just arrived at the camp was welcomed by both soldiers and scientists. She was wondering why, but the moment she saw the commander with her mother beside him, she finally understood what was going on.
They congratulated her because the research and inventions she created a year ago were huge breakthroughs that gained both national and international awards. She was even told that the office of the president invited her to attend the upcoming national honorary awards.
After the congratulatory event, she was summoned by Commander Yun along with her mother. This military commander was actually her father"s half-brother and the man who hid Davi"s mother 15 years ago. After the accident, Miura Sanae sought his help and the man paved the path to enable her to enter the secret special forces and holed up her under the ocean for ten years. Then Davi followed suit.
"You were away for a year so you may not have heard the news yet." He said as her mother smiled ever so happily.
"Is this about father? I already heard it." She replied and the two were shocked.
"Ohh… We thought we could surprise you. But yes, you are free now. Both of you are finally free." Commander Yun said and Miura Sanae embraced her daughter.
"Sweetie, after so many years we are finally free. And your father is now seen as a hero." She cried and Davi embraced her back quietly.
"Your research is an amazing breakthrough. Even the general and the president were in awe. They couldn"t believe that a talented a.s.set was hiding beneath my wings all these years. We can now finally introduce you, the genius and national treasure to the world." Commander Yun professed, looking like a super proud father before someone summoned him.
The two then went back to their respective quarters. Davi went straight to bed after showering. She raised her hand and clenched her fist, she stared at the ceiling for a long time. Her thoughts were filled with Sei"s face and her son"s. Her heart was aching and she wanted to go back to that house right away.
Being a special forces medic, Davi studied psychology as well. She constantly monitored herself to know herself better so she could understand what was happening to her. She had become used to dodging and concealing her emotions for too long that she ended up being incapable of expressing them anymore.
Inwardly, she wished for Sei to never know that she had become like this, that was why she left without a word. She had no idea how to face him now that she couldn"t even smile anymore. Everything was finally over, and for her, everything seemed like a dream. She didn"t even know how she managed to just leave that house without saying anything. She felt like she had lost herself. She wasn"t the girl she used to be and she didn"t want Sei to realize that.
She knew that healing this type of psychological illness would take time but she desperately wanted herself to be fixed right now so she can properly face them and be with them. She didn"t want to show herself as something similar to a robot, incapable of expressing any emotion in front of her dearest son and husband. She didn"t want her son to see her in this sorry state.
…
Meanwhile at a Military Headquarter.
"General, I want to ask you to make an order to ensure this person quits the special forces," Sei said. His voice was unconditional and chilling as though he actually came not to ask but to order. Of course, the general was completely aware who this person was, sitting in front of him. He couldn"t even believe that this man actually personally asked to meet him, knowing that even the powerful leaders around the world weren"t able to have this man show up at any of their events.
"Mr. Chen, it is my honor to grant your request." The general immediately replied. He didn"t dare to ask any more details even though he was itching to find the reason why he had been asked to do this.
"But don"t make it too obvious. Try having her transferred into a less dangerous department. Also, restrict her from leaving the country." The man said and the general could only agree.
"This sergeant happens to be an exceptional scientist. She has just received numerous awards for her research and the office of the president chose her to be one of the recipients in the upcoming honorary awards. I just called commander Yun and I was surprised to know that she was a member of the special forces. I inquired about why she wasn"t a full time scientist but he said that she chose to be a part of the special forces herself." The general explained but the man remained silent.
"I will release an order to transfer her to the science department," he continued and Sei just nodded before he left, leaving the general wondering what the relations.h.i.+p of this lady was to that terrifying and powerful young tyc.o.o.n, for him to go out of his way to request this of him.
"Zaki, let"s go find a flower shop," Sei said as they walked and Zaki immediately began grinning widely.
"Oho… are you going to be the one who will court her this time?" He asked with insatiable interest as he continued grinning.
"I can"t force her to come back right now when she"s like this. She is fighting a war within herself. I want to slowly bring her back to me. She was the one who fixed me, so I will definitely cure her and take her back," Sei replied. Seriousness and unwavering determination flooded his eyes and Zaki could only smile.
"Sei, did you know that those five years didn"t change just your wife? You actually changed too, but for the better and the most amazing thing that changed was your EQ. You"ve matured quite a lot." Zaki said and Sei just glanced at him.
"Zaki, when Kir comes back, I will send you back to Country H to pursue your own life. It"s been five years but you and your fiancée are still not married yet." Sei retorted and Zaki almost stumbled on his own feet.
