Chapter 200 - I"m Setting You Free
Unknown to the world, a month ago, Sei already managed to track the existence of a certain ballistic missile that was in some underground silos somewhere in the State of A. The missile was kept on a hair trigger alert and was actually 24 hours online ready to be launch anytime once war breaks out. It was a weapon that can be ignited under mere few minutes, making it the perfect one for Sei to target.
That moment, Sei, whose mind was seeking revenge, started launching an all out attack to take control of the said missile. And within few hours he had succeeded. Just as what he always predicted, there"s no system that are unhackable in this interconnected world, no matter how secured it may be.
Thus, without wasting a single second, he continued tapping the computer keyboard nonstop as he viciously prepared for the launching of the bomb to be detonated towards his target. Towards the city where his very own father lives.
Seeing what Sei was about to do, Zaki behind him just clenched his fist tight. He couldn"t help feel chilling s.h.i.+vers enveloping him. He knew that the moment he manages to launch the bomb, there"s no way to turn back. Zaki knew that the world will never forgive him. And even if they could manage to escape, Zaki was fully aware that there"s no more future for them. It was because he could see that Sei does not even care anymore. He was completely blinded with rage and his conscience was calloused as a human being. And Zaki knew he could not do anything to stop him. It was because ever since they met, Zaki never once go against Sei"s will. He can never defy orders coming from him.
That day, Sei"s heart had died and hope were nowhere to be found within him. He was a child merely breathing and he thought that the only thing that keeps him moving until now was his desire for vengeance. For those years he spent living in h.e.l.l, he endured it all for the sake of his mother. But now that she"s gone, he couldn"t see any more reason for him to keep fighting and lost the will to live. He finally reached his limit. He was exhausted, he thought that everything was futile and the world was nothing but h.e.l.l. That prod him to come to a decision to end it once and for all.
Time pa.s.sed and every single move of the clock"s hand were like launch procedure towards apocalypse. Until it reaches the final countdown. Sei finally succeeded and with just a single tap to the keyboard, was all it takes to end it all.
That moment, Sei callously raised his hand and before he could press the key, he halted. He turned towards Zaki and he spoke.
"Zakiā¦ I"m setting you free." He said and Zaki began to tremble as he began to force himself to talk.
"I will never leave you. As long as I live, I will protect you, that"s my promise to myself and to our mother." The young Zaki said, and a cold smile just carved on Sei"s face before he returned his gaze back to the computer screen again.
The next instant, like an unaffected heartless monster, Sei just moved his hand again and Zaki just held his breath.
However, before his finger was about to activate the fated key, as though someone invisible just came to stop him, Sei suddenly stood still.
It was because, out of nowhere, someone started playing a piano not far from where they were. And the moment the soft sound reached his ears, his hand just seemed to froze in place.
