Chapter 1413: The Most Powerful Holy Disciple, Emperor An Mang
“Haha, I feel pretty awesome making the Blood Patriarch my weapon.” An Lin was feeling quite pleased with himself.
The skeleton monster chuckled. “Master, I am only the skeleton of the Blood Patriarch. Strictly speaking, I don’t have much to do with the Blood Patriarch at all as the real Blood Patriarch has already fallen a long time ago… I am me, not the Blood Patriarch.”
An Lin was not disappointed upon hearing this. Instead, he posed a question.
“So who are you, and what should I call you?”
“I don’t have a name yet, Master.” The skeleton monster scratched its head.
“I see…” A thoughtful expression appeared on An Lin’s face. “Then let me give you a name.”
“Yes, please!” The skeleton monster was full of antic.i.p.ation.
An Lin looked at the pristine white skeleton clothed in the red robe. “You are the skeleton of the Blood Patriarch, the most precious skeleton in the world. You cultivated in the Great Dao of blood, you observed life and death, yin and yang, and you’re going to rock the heavens one day…”
The skeleton monster’s breathing accelerated with excitement and nodded incessantly.
“I’ll call you Xue Mengmeng[1]!” An Lin clapped his hands together.
The skeleton monster: “???”
Xue Mengmeng? What the h.e.l.l kind of name is that?
The skeleton monster was unable to react for a moment, and its mouth gaped open slightly as it stared at An Lin with a blank expression.
“Is there a problem?” An Lin asked.
Xue Zhantian’s brother was named Xue Mengmeng, and he was quite fond of that name at the time.
Now that he had a Blood Tribe skeleton as a weapon, he could name it Xue Mengmeng as well.
“I just don’t really understand how I have anything to do with being adorable…” The skeleton monster c.o.c.ked its head to the side.
An Lin stroked the skeleton monster’s skull with a smile. “You’re actually very adorable. It’s just that you have never noticed this about yourself.”
“I see.” The skeleton monster nodded as if it had come to a sudden realization, upon which it placed its hands on its head to create a heart shape. “Master, my name will be Xue Mengmeng from now on!”
An Lin’s lips twitched at the horrifying sight of the skeleton trying to act adorable. “You sure adjust quickly.”
“Am I adorable?”
“You sure are!”
An Lin continued his search for Ca.s.sidy and the others after taking care of Xue Mengmeng.
The only thing convenient about Xue Mengmeng was that he could be placed into his storage ring as a weapon with a sentient will, just like the Vermilion Bird Mirror.
Xue Mengmeng was curious about every aspect of An Lin, and it asked questions incessantly. It asked about how An Lin cultivated in the dao of blood, how he was able to cultivate his blood to such outrageous perfection, then asked him about what he was doing now as well as his future plans…
An Lin was getting annoyed by the relentless barrage of questions and asked Xue Mengmeng if it could fight, and if so, how powerful it was. Xue Mengmeng told him that its body was currently not stable and that it could not fight, upon which An Lin immediately put it away into his storage ring.
His top priority was to save Ca.s.sidy, Tobias, and Merlin, so he didn’t have time or patience to chat with Xue Mengmeng!
An Lin traced the leads discovered using his Divine Simulation Technique and quickly continued onward.
After about fifteen minutes, a ma.s.sive divine mountain appeared before him.
The divine mountain was over a hundred thousand feet tall, and its top part seemed to have been sliced open by some sort of extremely sharp power. Not only that, but there were also a series of ghastly gashes on the body of the mountain, from which crimson energy was still surging.
An Lin’s heart jolted upon seeing this. The energy here seemed familiar.
“The Divine Simulation Technique can only be used once per month, so I can’t use it again. This battle looks like it happened not long ago, so there should be some obvious leads to follow…” He hesitated momentarily before flying into the sky, upon which countless divine symbols flashed through his eyes. “Omniscient Eye!”
The Omniscient Eye was one of the Celestial Thearch’s signature techniques that could be used to observe heaven and earth and glean the reason behind all things!
He was unable to use the Divine Simulation Technique, but the Omniscient Eye would suffice here.
“There!”
An Lin immediately turned and flew toward another direction.
Hopefully, he would be able to get there in time…
Elsewhere on this vast expanse of yellow sand.
There was a slightly thin man with long, black hair, dragging three black coffins with ghostly faces on them through the use of a chain.
Even though he appeared to only be walking slowly, his speed was actually quite astonis.h.i.+ng. It was as if he was able to shrink the distance before him and travel great distances with a single step.
“Stop!” a loud yell erupted from the distance.
An inky-black sword projection fell from the sky like a divine blade parting heaven and earth, hurtling toward the man’s head at an extremely fast speed!
The man raised a hand to the sword projection.
The devastating sword projection was then locked firmly in his grasp.
Bam!
The sword projection was crushed by the man through brute strength, shattering it into countless energy fragments.
“You’re the one who entered our tribe’s holy land?” The man raised his head, and his pupils contracted slightly at the sight of who it was. “An Lin?”
An Lin descended upon the ground, and he stared at the three coffins behind the man with gritted teeth and killing intent surging violently from his body. “What did you do to Ca.s.sidy and the others?”
The man did not reply. His inky-black eyes remained firmly fixed on An Lin as he murmured to himself, “The sect leader of the Four Nine Immortal Sect was acknowledged by the Blood Patriarch and entered the holy land… So you’re the Holy Leader they speak of? How interesting. What an extraordinary turn of events…”
Boom!
Heaven and earth suddenly transformed into a vast expanse of darkness devoid of all things, including s.p.a.ce itself.
Divine tool domain!
An Lin abruptly charged toward the man, and his sword fell like lightning!
The man’s expression remained unchanged, and he raised his hand to grab An Lin’s sword blade again with unerring accuracy. He pinched the sword blade between two of his fingers, locking it in place with his terrifying power.
“I’m asking you, what did you do to Ca.s.sidy and the others?!” An Lin roared through gritted teeth.
“They’re already dead,” the man replied with a smile.
An Lin took a deep breath, and his expression became extremely cold. “Then you can go die with them. Vanquish the Heavens and Slay All Evil, Annihilation!”
Bam!!!
Blood splattered into the air.
The man’s head exploded into its most minuscule const.i.tuent particles.
An Lin’s rage was irrepressible, and he didn’t mind using a finis.h.i.+ng technique straightaway to eliminate this man!
He was just about to withdraw his sword when he discovered that his Evil-Slaying Sword was still being pinched firmly between a pair of fingers with no sign of coming loose…
An Lin looked with astonishment at the decapitated man, whose blood was quickly squirming and multiplying to form a new head.
The man smiled. “As expected of the Holy Leader, you really are very powerful. However, you don’t seem to know who I am. Otherwise, you would not have the courage to attack me…”
Boom!
The s.p.a.ce around the man began to crumble and collapse as darkness reigned supreme.
An Lin looked at the man, and he felt as if he were looking at an impossibly dark abyss filled with depravity and death.
“I, Emperor An Mang, am the most powerful among all of the Holy Disciples, and I control the power of absolute life and death. How are you going to stand against me?”
Emperor An Mang stepped forward as a black divine light erupted into the sky. He violently shattered Little Xie’s divine tool domain before launching a palm toward An Lin!
[1] Xue Mengmeng literally means “blood adorable adorable”, so it’s a lot like a pet name, and it also happens to have the exact same p.r.o.nunciation as Xue Zhantian’s brother.
