Chapter 1330: Explosion of the Spatial Gate
No one had expected An Lin to be able to break through the Heavenly Wind G.o.d’s defenses so easily even after it had unleashed its full power.
However, this was reality.
The Heavenly Wind G.o.d was astonished, confused, and a little dazed.
It was unable to understand why a representative of the Heavenly Dao’s will such as itself was unable to defeat this human!
Where had this human come from?!
Bursts of divine light erupted from An Lin’s Evil-Slaying Sword as black veined patterns spread all over the Heavenly Wind G.o.d’s body from the wound on its chest.
Only now did the Heavenly Wind G.o.d abruptly discover that its power had been restricted. Even the divine halo on its head was quickly losing its l.u.s.ter, as if it was being engulfed by some sort of power.
“This… this is impossible… My power represents the heavens! What kind of power could overwhelm and restrict mine? This doesn’t make any sense…” The Heavenly Wind G.o.d raised its arms, which were completely feeble and trembling slightly. It was unable to even muster up any power, let alone retaliate.
All of a sudden, it seemed to have realized something, and it looked up at An Lin with astonishment etched on its face. “The power of the Heavenly Dao cannot be restricted unless it’s by someone of a higher…”
Before it had a chance to finish, An Lin slashed his sword in a downward motion and sliced its body in half. A black crescent moon sword projection expanded and engulfed the Heavenly Wind G.o.d’s body, leaving not even a single trace of it behind.
He had slain the Heavenly Wind G.o.d with one sword strike!
Heaven and earth returned to normal.
An Lin stood alone in the air above the bleak and desolate ground below.
“Is it over?” the Celestial Thearch muttered to himself as he looked up at the man clothed in a bloodstained white robe.
The other four emperors looked around at their surroundings with tense expressions, in fear of the Heavenly Wind G.o.d materializing again.
The Celestial Thearch had literally slapped its body into nothingness last time, but it was still able to resurrect itself, so all of the emperors had to be extra cautious this time.
Crack…
A crisp crack suddenly sounded in mid-air.
All of the immortals’ hearts jolted in shock, but all of them instantly shed tears of relief and elation upon seeing the source of the cracking sound.
The blue rhomboid enchantment barrier had cracked open!
This showed that the nightmarishly powerful Heavenly Wind G.o.d had indeed been slain as only its death would result in the crumbling of the enchantment barrier!
“He did it…”
“The Heavenly Wind G.o.d is dead!”
“We won! We finally won…”
“The Heavenly Court has finally survived this ordeal. Mr. An Lin truly is worthy of his t.i.tle as the Heavenly Court’s War G.o.d!”
The blue enchantment barrier shattered and slowly disappeared.
An Lin raised his head to look up at the elated immortals flying toward him, and his body relaxed as the power within quickly receded. He felt completely depleted of strength and fell back before plummeting toward the ground below.
He was then caught by a warm, soft body.
An Lin smiled as he inhaled the scent that he was so familiar with. “Xiaolan, was I cool or what?”
Xu Xiaolan hugged An Lin tightly in her arms and tears welled up in her eyes. She wanted to scold him, but she couldn’t bear to do so, so she nodded and spoke in a soft voice, “You were really cool! But never do that again, understand?”
“I know. Don’t worry, there won’t be a next time.” An Lin sidled up closer to Xu Xiaolan, trying to take advantage of the situation.
A faint blush appeared on Xu Xiaolan’s face, but she allowed An Lin to sink into her arms seeing as he was so feeble.
“Xiaolan, I’m very tired, and I want to sleep for a bit.”
“Alright… Do you want to sleep in the coffin?”
“… Ok.”
In comparison, An Lin would actually much rather sleep in Xu Xiaolan’s arms.
Thus, An Lin was slowly placed into the Blood Soul Jade Coffin right before everyone’s eyes, where he lay with his eyes closed and a serene expression on his face.
Many of the immortals burst into tears upon seeing this.
“Waah… Mr. An Lin was the most valiant man I knew.”
“He had become the immortal I revered the most since the moment he stood up for the sake of the Heavenly Court!”
“He was the true War G.o.d of the Heavenly Court!”
“I’ll never forget you, An Lin, waah…”
…
All of the immortals shed tears of grief.
The Celestial Thearch’s expression darkened upon seeing this. “Oi! Can you guys watch your words? You sound a lot like you’re delivering eulogies to An Lin!”
All of the immortals only came to their senses then.
That’s right, An Lin hadn’t died, so why were they talking as if he had?
None of them said anything else, but none of them left either. All of them were staring at the man within the coffin with grat.i.tude and reverence etched on their faces.
Lin Junjun carefully helped the Celestial Thearch to his feet, and she too made her way toward the coffin before looking at the man inside with a pair of eyes that were rippling with emotion.
The Celestial Thearch was feeling a little depressed. He had been heavily injured, but his daughter was too busy looking at the man inside that coffin to attend to him!
However, it was understandable.
Even the exquisitely beautiful Celestial Maiden Chang’e didn’t attract as much attention as An Lin did.
She stood beside the coffin, looking down at An Lin, and she suddenly understood why Daolord Lu Ya would be so interested in him.
It had to be said that An Lin was simply full of surprises.
“Looks like I have to hurry up and finish that divine pill. I’m really interested to see just how powerful you’ll become after taking the divine pill.” An eager smile appeared on Chang’e’s face.
True G.o.d Er Lang was also sighing with emotion as he looked down at An Lin. “Ever since that day when you pummeled Ziwei and was given the t.i.tle of the small War G.o.d of the Heavenly Court, I knew that the day would come when you would take my place as the Heavenly Court War G.o.d. I just didn’t think that this day would come so soon.”
Yang Jian was not a petty man. He was very glad to see An Lin’s meteoric rise, and he was happy to endorse An Lin.
It was extremely fortunate for the Heavenly Court that they had a War G.o.d like An Lin!
Meanwhile, within the Wind Demon spatial gate.
Another two Wind Demons jumped out.
“Hahaha… Foolish humans, have you experienced the horror of our Wind Emperors?”
“Let’s kill them all!”
The two Wind Demons emerged from the spatial gate but were not greeted by the sight of human blood flowing like a river as expected. Instead, a vast expanse of bleak and barren land stood before them.
Tens of thousands of Wind Demons had completely disappeared.
Oh wait, there were some remains left of them littered on the ground.
A Dao Integration Stage four-legged whale, as well as tens of thousands of students and teachers, turned to look at the two Wind Demons.
“Gulp…”
The Wind Demons swallowed and their legs trembled as they turned to flee back into their world again.
Crack…
A crisp crack sounded.
The spatial gate suddenly shattered!
The power supporting it had already disappeared, and they now had no way back!
“Wha…” The two Wind Demons’ eyes widened, and they felt like they were about to go insane!
What the h.e.l.l were they supposed to do now?!
Standing behind them were tens of thousands of powerful humans. They had annihilated the entire Wind Demon army… How were two Soul Formation Stage Wind Demons supposed to stand up to them?
This was an impossibly dire situation in which they had no chance of survival.
“Let’s commit suicide. Otherwise, the fate awaiting us will be worse than death!” one of the Wind Demons suggested.
“Alright!” The other Wind Demon pulled out a knife.
Right at this moment, a man with bushy brows and large eyes appeared between the two Wind Demons with a buoyant smile on his face. “You want to die? It’s not going to be that easy!”
