Chapter 16 The Queen’s thoughts Sighing as the Queen left Liana’s room, she sorted the order of the future official business in her head.
(Tonight might be another sleepless night.)
She sighed once more.
The Queen became the King’s fiancée at the age of 10, and was married when the King was 23 and she was 16.
The King was 7 years older than the Queen, but because he had always been weak and indecisive, the Queen had been more reliable than the King since their engagement.
They have been married for nearly 20 years, and in that time, various official and personal events have occurred such as her bearing four children, and having disputes with scheming n.o.bles and neighbouring countries in place of the unreliable King.
Difficult matters were aplenty but, with the support of their children and va.s.sals, they were somehow able to overcome them.
Like an old fox, she had overcome many challenges so as far as the Queen was concerned, Liana’s matter is just another one to endure.
King and Queen; Husband and Wife; Father and Mother; Rather than love and affection, her feelings for the King were now closer to one of companionship.
Even without feelings of pa.s.sionate love, their compatibility was good with her strong will and the King’s timidness, it was the perfect political marriage. She believed that it was a relationship where she and the King understood various things about each other.
However, right now the Queen could not comprehend what the King was thinking of.
