The ceremony commenced. There wasn"t much going on in Ha Eun"s head. She was s.p.a.cing throughout the priest"s monologue. Then came the exchanging of rings. Ha Eun snapped out of it. They never got rings! She looked over at Chang Wook, he took out from his pocket a small box that held two rings. Both of them were silver, except that one was thiker and the other one was thin with a small diamond on it.
Chang Wook smiled at her, took her hand and placed the ring on her ring finger. Ha Eun took the other ring and placed it on Chang Wook"s ring finger.
Then, the priest said the words the couple had completely forgotten that happen right as the ceremony concludes "…You may now kiss the bride"
Ha Eun and Chang Wook looked at the priest shocked, then looked at each other. Ha Eun glances at the audience. Making eye contact with Chang Wook"s family. Every second they take in not kissing, is another second closer to people thinking that the couple doesn"t want to get married.
Ha Eun knows she has to kiss him. Chang Wook feels like he"s been put in an awkward position.
"Ha Eun" Chang Wook whispers to her. She turns to look at him. Chang Wook gently places his hands on her cheeks "Don"t slap me" he said. Before Ha Eun can comprehend what Chang Wook is about to do. She suddenly felt a softness on her lips and Chang Wook was too close for comfort.
"Is this…Is this a kiss?" Ha Eun asked herself. The softness of his lips and his closed eyes gave her a comforting feeling as she closed her eyes as well. Both of them got closer together. He lowered one of his arms to her waist as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
Suddenly there was a loud sound of confetti canons and applause, coming from all of the boats surrounding them, as well as the one they were in.
Chang Wook and Ha Eun quickly separated. They looked at each other awkwardly. Neither knew what to say at that moment.
"Foods in the back!" Han Soo said loudly and there was even more cheering. The other boats got closer and everyone exchanged plates of food and beverages. Staff on the boat quickly moved the chairs and made s.p.a.ce for a dance floor. A band was setting up their equipment. All the while Ha Eun and Chang Wook stood next to each other, not knowing what to do or what to say.
"What are you two doing?" Soo Ryun asked the couple. She grabbed them both by the wrist "I know you two want to be lovey-dovey, but you need to eat"
While eating people came towards the couple congratulating them.
"Mr. and Mrs. Kim" some would say.
"You"re Kim Ha Eun now!" others said.
"Or maybe I"m Lee Chang Wook" Chang Wook said jokingly, which got laughter from the people around. Ha Eun chuckled but she was still in a bit of a daze. Her brain was still in the scene of the kiss.
"Ha Eun, are you okay?" Do Mi asked her. Ha Eun nodded saying that she was still hungry, knowing full well that she couldn"t eat anymore.
The music started playing which informed everyone that it was time for the couple"s first dance. Ha Eun wished they had prepared more for this. She has no idea how to dance. She will definitely embarra.s.s herself and she is going to drag Chang Wook with her. Chang Wook had a grin on his face. He knew how to dance but he worried that Ha Eun would step on his feet. He knew she wasn"t the best dancer, after all, he knew mostly everything about her.
Do Mi pushed them forward to go dance, while people cheered for them. Chang Wook took Ha Eun"s hand "Don"t look at your feet and just follow me" he told her. As the music went on the couple danced in surprising synchronization. Ha Eun couldn"t help but smile when Chang Wook raised her arm and spun her around.
The guests smiled as they saw the happy couple dancing. Some remembering their own weddings, other"s remembering the first time they ever danced with their partner.
Han Soo looked down at his wife. After all these years of marriage, she was still the most beautiful woman he had ever met. He showed her his hand, but he looked away, not saying anything. Do Mi smiled.
"As bashful as ever" Do Mi said. Han Soo looked at her to respond to her comment but the smile on her face made him decide not to.
Once they joined the dance floor, more couples joined in to dance. Soo Ryun felt she was being left out, so she got the man closest to her and pulled him into the dance. He was younger than her by maybe 2 decades, and he also came with a date, but she was Chang Wook"s grandmother. He looked at his date. She was laughing.
As Ha Eun and Chang Wook danced, they started to relax around each other. Then the song ended, and the music was more upbeat. Everyone suddenly started dancing erratically. Ha Eun didn"t know what to do.
"Let go" Chang Wook said as he took her hands and moved her from side to side. He let her go and he started to wiggle right in front of her, then he went around her in circles. She started to laugh. He took her hand, spun her around, then spun her right towards him.
Ha Eun laughed and decided to try letting go. It was surprisingly fun
The sun was finally setting, and the wedding would soon come to a close. Suddenly the thought of what would happen at night came across Ha Eun"s mind. Chang Wook noticed Ha Eun"s face had grow red, he wondered if it was because he made her dance too much.
He pulled her to the side and got her a drink. Quickly some guy friends came up to them and asked Ha Eun if they could borrow him. She smiled at them and nodded. She needed time to calm down.
