Instead of the King of Shin, the man’s accompanying attendant answered him in a detached voice.

“With the exception of those in the company of royalty, ordinary people are not permitted to enter this place. I beg you not to be concerned. Please continue forward, King of Dahlia.”

“Even a stonemason is not permitted?”

“Correct.”

As Toushuu stood rooted to the spot, the splendidly dressed royal and that ordinary person drifted off. The place they were discussing was the room down beyond the stone staircase shrouded in shadow. That room was a place reserved for spiritual rituals. In that place the Oracle would be given. It is expected to be a decision on which princess from the royal families of Shin would become Toushuu’s bride.

Shin was a special country.

It is said that Rai, the G.o.d who controls thunder, is it’s founder. It would also seem that the existing descendants of that line in Shin’s royals possessed some special power. But in actuality all records of anyone having wielded divine powers is horribly old, and to what extent their authenticity holds true is unknown.

It is a story that reeks of in-authenticity, but in any case the royalty of Shin has been worshiped and extolled by various countries as living G.o.ds. It is said that a country that accepts a bride from Shin’s royal line is granted G.o.d’s divine protection.

In order to obtain a bride, Toushuu has been staying in this country for a month now.

Although he holds no interest in a foreign countries superst.i.tious beliefs, as his kingdom of Dahlia has it’s own G.o.d, many countries show respect for Shin royalty.
