Chapter 269 Tang Jing: Can You Take Me Away?
When the call came through, the owner of Longteng Jiayuan said in a deep voice, “I’m having some trouble in Shanghai and it might be connected to the capital city.”
The voice on the other end replied, “What do you need me to do?”
The owner of Longteng Jiayuan said, “Help me check out this person, thoroughly. The information will be sent to you later.”
“Okay.”
The owner of Longteng Jiayuan repeated once again, “I want all the details! Including his background.”
“Hmm.”
Meanwhile, Su Yang, Janet, and Pool had already returned home.
Once Su Yang returned to normal, he went downstairs, picked a few blades of gra.s.s, went home, and wrote a few words on them with a pen.’Shark Fin Rice’, ‘Furong Steamed Scallops’, ‘Stewed Prawns’, ‘Steamed Crabs’, and ‘Spicy Fried Clams’. Everything was seafood.
If you were wondering what was up with all the seafood, it was to reward the largest contributor for the night, Janet!
Janet had been at the frontline today and had made a great contribution in taking out the head of security so Su Yang wanted to thank her.
Putting the blades of gra.s.s into several plates before putting them into the (Gra.s.s-Eating Iron Pot], plates of colorful and fragrant seafood soon appeared from the pot.
Bringing the seafood to the table, Su Yang greeted Little Deeny, Pool, and Janet, asking them to come together for a late-night snack.
Little Deeny refused, giving the excuse that she didn’t have time. Recently, she had been obsessed with the research and development of her AI. Her ability to come up with a core processor to help Su Yang with today’s event was already rare enough so Su Yang relented and didn’t force her.
Pool and Janet, however, did not refuse and attended the supper.
Pouring a gla.s.s of milk for each of them, all three of them, Su Yang included, sat down at the table.
Looking at the dishes on the table, Su Yang felt like he was rather similar to an ancient swordsman. After killing a few, he feasted on food while feeling grateful.
Being human was a good thing. That is, to be able to be in a good mood and go where your heart desires.
While Su Yang was deep in thought, Pool looked silently at the food on the table.
After some time, his gaze landed on the shark fin, then at Janet. Then, he whispered to Su Yang, “Master Su Yang, is eating shark fin in front of a shark something decent to do?
‘Uhh..’
Su Yang was confused and didn’t understand at the time. “What’s wrong with it?”
Pool continued whispering, “Shark fin is made from… A shark’s fin. It’s made by drying the fins from a shark’s belly and tail.
Su Yang was speechless. ‘Please forgive the ignorance of a rural child who has never eaten shark’s fin before.’
Although the atmosphere was slightly awkward at that moment, Janet didn’t mind at all as he reached out with his hand for a crab. After shattering the crab’s claw with his hand, he sucked on it with his mouth and the flesh went straight in. Since he had already begun feasting, Su Yang no longer burdened himself with the matter and began eating as well.
However, he didn’t forget to put the bowl of shark fin rice on the chair while eating. Referring to a monk as a bald donkey was never right.
As they ate, Su Yang found that the atmosphere grew more awkward because there were three of them at the table but only Janet was eating with him while Pool kept to himself.
Pool looked at Janet with envy in his eyes, making it obvious that he was also hungry but couldn’t eat at all.
From all the little monsters in the house, only Janet and Bubbles could eat because their bodies were ‘complete’.
After adding points to so many little monsters, Su Yang discovered that they actually had several forms. They were the primitive form, the half-human form, the human form, and the full human form.
Those who were still in the primitive form were Little Ha. The original form of Gollum, Sanque, and Dagger Girl were primitive as well. In the past, they still looked like objects with no changes to how they looked. It was just that they had been awakened.
Those in their half-human forms now were Gollum, Sanque, Dagger Girl, and the little monster beans. They had bodies that were similar to humans with arms and legs but still retained their original form.
The ones who were now in human form were Pool and Little Deeny. They were now completely indistinguishable from humans in their appearance. n.o.body would even bat an eyelid if they were to take a walk outside. However, they didn’t have the ability to eat and drink like humans. Although they were now separated from their original forms, they were still influenced by their original bodies.
The only two who had full-human forms were Janet and Bubbles. They could eat and drink to their heart’s content. Their bodies were now completely transformed to human form. They were now no different than other humans except for some special abilities.
Looking at Pool’s envious gaze, Su Yang patted him on the shoulder.
Pool replied with a smile.
After their late-night snack, Su Yang sent the little monster beans to pack his things while he retired to his room for a shower before preparing for bed.
However, the sound of a WeChat notification suddenly sounded in his bedroom just as he came out of the shower.
Su Yang looked at the time, and it was already 1:30 a.m. ‘Who could be looking for me at this time?’
Then, his WeChat beeped another two times.
Su Yang felt like the frequency of the notifications made it seem like Lin Jiali.
“This actress couldn’t be an insomniac right? Looking for some relief in the middle of the night.
‘This person is too free.’ Su Yang wondered. He decided to take a look at the message, only wanting to reply if it was an emergency. Otherwise, he’d leave her hanging and head off to bed by himself.
With that in mind, Su Yang called out an interface and opened WeChat. In the process of opening WeChat, Su Yang suddenly realized that it was like he was playing in a real-life idol development game.
The WeChat interface opened. Then, just as Su Yang took a look at the icon at the top of the WeChat, he found out that he had been thinking too much.
The notifications weren’t from Carrie Lin. Instead, they were from… Tang Jing.
Tang Jing’s message read, [Are you asleep?]
After that message was two voice messages.
Su Yang tapped on the voice message, and Tang Jing’s drunken voice was heard from the message, “I’m in a bad mood today. I went to the bar by myself to drink but the more I drink, the more I want to cry. I don’t know who to call, so I’m really sorry if I’m bothering you…”
“I didn’t want to, but I really can’t help it. It’s so hard to cry. Can you come and stay with
me?”
Toward the end, Tang Jing sounded a little choked up.
Su Yang was speechless.
‘What did she do tonight?
‘Did she go to the bar again?
“The last time this happened was when she went out for a drink at night as well. This time around, it’s already one in the morning, and yet, she’s still out for a drink. Is this woman an alcoholic?
‘She sounds rather sad though… Could something have happened?’
The more Su Yang thought about it, the more unsettled he felt. In the end, he sent Tang Jing a reply on Wechat. (Send me your location, I’ll come to you). A moment later, Tang Jing replied, [Are you awake? I’m sorry. Am I disturbing you?]
Su Yang didn’t reply to her question but sent her one word. (Location).
After a moment, she shared her location with Su Yang
Su Yang saw that it was still the same quiet bar where the two of them drank together last time. He put on his clothes and went out of the virtual s.p.a.ce to take a taxi outside the neighborhood.
There were still quite a few taxis in Shanghai at night so Su Yang quickly got a taxi and went to that bar.
Pus.h.i.+ng the door of the bar open, he was a.s.saulted with the aroma of wine, the sultry sounds of a piano, mesmerizing yet beautiful lights, and clinking wine gla.s.ses. All these things made up the atmosphere people sought when they came to this bar.
Su Yang glanced around and easily found Tang Jing on a sofa in the bar.
She was dressed in a slim-fit professional outfit. Her white s.h.i.+rt had two unb.u.t.toned b.u.t.tons with her long black hair spread across her shoulders. She wore the intoxicating color of peach on her face from her drunkenness.
Propped up on the table with one hand, her gla.s.s was raised to her lips while her eyes seemed a little lost.
Su Yang walked over and s.n.a.t.c.hed her cup away. “Stop drinking.”
Tang Jing looked over and upon seeing that it was Su Yang, a gentle smile suffused her face. Her voice was now even more intoxicating due to the wine she drank. “Su Yang, you’re here…”
The drunken voice of a mature woman was like a cat scratching his chest. Crisp, and ticklish.
Su Yang couldn’t help from feeling a little dryness on his throat as he immediately put the wine gla.s.s on the table before asking, “How many gla.s.ses have you had?’
Although he had only had one drink with Tang Jing, Su Yang still had some idea of how much liquor Tang Jing could hold. A few gla.s.ses of wine wouldn’t make her as drunk as she currently was.
The drunken Tang Jing blinked mischievously toward Su Yang, looking like a young girl in a trance. “Take a wild guess.”
Su Yang was speechless.
He put his wine gla.s.s to the side and sat next to her. “I’m not going to.” “Hehehe.” The drunken Tang Jing looked exceptionally beautiful as she leaned toward him, leaning her head on Su Yang shoulders as she continued, “I didn’t really expect you to come.”
Taking a whiff of Tang Jing’s feminine fragrance, Su Yang replied indifferently, “I didn’t expect to either.”
They were both silent for a while, and just as Su Yang thought she had fallen asleep, he suddenly felt tears streaming down her face, dripping onto his shoulders as the warm tears wet his clothes.
Su Yang was a little overwhelmed. “Sister Tang, I won’t be moved like this.”
Tang Jing didn’t hear a single word. Instead, she covered her mouth and continued sobbing.
Su Yang looked at her from the side as he reached out to straighten her body. However, her soft body was like a boneless body. Su Yang had to hold it up to keep her from falling down.
She weakly covered her mouth with both hands as tears continued streaming down her face. As she silently sobbed, her makeup began to fade from her tears.
Su Yang was now truly and thoroughly confused. He didn’t know what was going on.
If someone were to pa.s.s by at this moment, and he told them he had just arrived, would anyone believe him if he said this was none of his business?
Tang Jing cried for a moment more. As her tears slowly stopped, she sobbed a couple more times and smiled apologetically toward Su Yang. “Sorry, Little Yang… I must look like a joke to you.”
Su Yang released his grip on her hand, looked down on her, and asked, “Sister Tang, are you okay? Tang Jing shook her head, wearing a bitter smile on her face. “It’s okay. I’m sorry. I lost my temper.”
Su Yang replied, “It’s fine.”
Tang Jing was silent for a moment before speaking, “Today is the anniversary of my mother’s death.”
Su Yang… Understood.
Tang Jing tilted her head up 45 degrees, with tears in her slightly reddened eyes that couldn’t flow because she was looking up at Su Yang. “I met my father in the evening. He was having dinner in a restaurant with his new wife and child. They were happy.”
Su Yang was silent.
Tang Jing tried her best to dry her lips as she held back her tears. Her pursed lips seemed a little pale but after some time, she looked at Su Yang and a smile blossomed on her face. However, it was one that looked heartbreaking. “I don’t want to go home tonight, can you take me someplace else?”
Su Yang’s heart trembled. “Where to?”
Tang Jing pursed her lips. Her smile in an attempt to hold back her tears seemed exceptionally heartbreaking. “I’ll go anywhere I just don’t want to stay here in this city anymore.”
