We searched for more Moonstones in the city but we found nothing after the first one. I concluded that this might be the reason why the inhabitants left the moon. They couldn"t find any Moonstone anymore so they abandoned the place. I said that to Karla and she reluctantly gave up.
Before we go home though, I created a hundred stone golems and stationed them in the moon. They would work nonstop in the mines just outside of the blue city. I made sure that they would have enough energy to work for at least 10 years. Thus, we can only hope that they would find Moonstones in the future.
However...
In the middle of creating the golems, I was suddenly interrupted.
[Go back to Earth, now.]
A deep voice of a male echoed out. I looked around but saw nothing. Karla, on the other hand, doesn"t seem to have heard it. Lastly, I checked the [Perfect Barrier of Interference] that I casted ever since Chapter 7.1.
It is perfectly working, so I know that the voice isn"t the same voice from back then. I was bewildered even more.
[Earth is in danger. Hurry or else.] The deep voice was transmitted to my mind again.
"Who are you?"
[It is not necessary to hear my name, but know that I, the Watcher, am the overseer of this star system and the billions of others more. The only reason why I haven"t chased you out of here is that you, a mortal man, are quite loved.]
Loved?
"You mean by Death? Is that what love means to her? Surely you jest."
[Without a doubt. That woman placed a mark on you, warning other cosmic beings, such as myself, from making a move on you. In short, you are protected, by Death itself. I pity you, mortal, for being blessed by her attention, and cursed by her love at the same time.]
"...."
[Now, go back to Earth. I believe you"ll find the things that you want the most there.]
At the same time the voice faded, I finished creating the golems. I instantly teleported with Karla a few times until we got back to Earth. I don"t know how he read my mind, but if what he said is true, this matter should be prioritized at all cost.
The moment I entered the house, Morgana immediately greeted me.
"My lord. Something is happening." After saying so, Morgana used [Clairvoyance] and [Mirror Projection] to share what she saw.
Currently, on the skies of New York, a ma.s.sive portal appeared. There was something on top of Stark"s tower that was keeping the portal opened. It was a perfect cube, placed in the middle of a machine. Most importantly, a portal of that caliber can only be opened with an unimaginable source of s.p.a.ce element.
Then from that portal, an unknown alien race is in the process of invading New York. The aliens came out of the portal in hordes, all of them atop a flying vehicle. Furthermore, a flying colossal serpent with its whole body covered in armor continuously wreaked havoc to the buildings. The city of New York was instantly plunged into chaos.
"What should we do, My lord?"
"Finn, we should help the people!"
Morgana, Lynn, and Karla all stared at me as I contemplated my next actions. Actually, it"s already been decided from the moment I saw that cube.
"What is her training progress?" I asked Morgana as I stared at Lynn.
"Right now, she can use a few basic dark elemental and undead spells."
"Mm-hmm, alright. Time to put that training out on the field. Morgana, you watch her. I"ll keep a watch on this girl while I get that cube." I said as I pointed at Karla.
Lynn obviously objected at the pairings but I can"t have her on the frontlines. Instead, I"m gonna have her kill some aliens at the sidelines with Morgana supervising her. I"m sure nothing would go wrong with that. Right?
As for Karla, I"m gonna order her to be the main fighting force while I monitor her and possibly get that cube at the same time.
I"m not gonna help her if she got into trouble. This battle should be the deciding factor of whether she"s qualified or not to be under me. Strength is not only my deciding factor, you see. I am considering too if they can follow orders to the utmost or not. If she cannot pa.s.s this test...
I watched as Morgana and Lynn teleported out.
Watching the portal once more, I realized that the best place for Karla to let loose was near the portal itself.
"Are you ready?" I asked her.
"Mm-hmm!"
"Kill "only" the aliens. Target the bigger ones. Is that clear?"
"Got it!" Karla answered vigorously.
Before we teleport, I looked for a flying colossal and decided to go near it. I wanna see her maximum capacity before leaving her to her own.
When we teleported near it, we were just in time to witness a marvelous scene. A hulking green monster stopped the advances of the flying colossal. Then, Stark in his Iron Man suit blasted it with a missile. Not only that; there"s also Thor, Agent Romanoff, a guy with a shield, and one with a bow and arrow. Together, they formed a circle of six.
Ahh, so this is Nick Fury"s Avengers. It doesn"t take a genius to realize this after knowing his plans.
"We"re late..."
Just as Karla was regretting not arriving a little earlier to face the flying colossal, more of them came out of the portal. Karla"s eyes then shone.
"Wait a minute. I wanna see what they"ll do first." I was referring to the Avengers, of course.
I observed them as the guy with a shield acted as their Captain. He gave orders to them, distributing them to various places.
In the end, Hulk, Thor, and Iron Man became their main attacking group. That"s exactly the right choice; because in my opinion, they are the only one who can fight with the flying colossal.
The other group consists of Agent Romanoff, Agent Barton (the guy with the bow), and their Captain. They, on the other hand, would engage in small fights with the alien soldiers.
After all of them dispersed, I also gave my go signal to Karla.
She grinned widely, and then she flew off.
What she targeted first was naturally the flying colossal.
