"The Show" music show of SBS MTV channel was completed by 9 P.M. and Hyesun and the boys too quickly began to return to Seoul as they have another music show on the following day. At first, Minsu suggested staying in Hotel since almost all the television studios are in Seoul but Hyesun rejected the idea because not only Incheon is only a 20-minute drive from Seoul but also the idols might need those 30 minutes to clear the drowsiness.After all, if they went directly went to the studio from the Hotel, with all the non-stop work daily, people might see their condition and that is something unaccepted to big companies, who can never let the public or reporters show that their trainees can"t take it. It"s also the reason, Minho"s incident of collapsing on the set during the shoot has been covered up.
After reaching Incheon, the six of them had their dinner on their way and Hyesun dropped at them at their dorm before driving away to her place. As soon as they entered the dorm, Jun spoke, "guys, we have to go MBC tomorrow at the same time, so, just go and take rest. No television, games, or YouTube. Good night."
Since they are also tired, the rest of the four nodded and just went to their rooms and slept. Actually, looking at their schedule, one might think, they only prerecorded like for an hour and took rest in the remaining time at the waiting hall. How can these idols even get tired? It isn"t even a problem for either the idols from small agencies or unpopular idols or the most popular idols too since the first two can just sleep on the chairs if they get tired, the latter can just leave the place and rest in their crew-vans but the ones in middles have it the most. Neither they can leave nor they can rest there.
Anyways; while the members of Unlimited are sleeping in their dorm, elsewhere, all over Seoul and Incheon, this time, the height of the wave, which was just steadily rising suddenly increased overnight. The netizens kept on watching the video and especially the downloads began to increase tremendously and they are all over the news.
The Chairman was also very happy with himself making the right decision, and every day seems like an occasion to him, although, he doesn"t know the fact that the two popular songs "Energetic" and "Boomerang" landed in Unlimited"s hands because of Sungjun"s 8 points of luck.
The next day, they again traveled to Seoul and this time, they went to one of the MBC television studios, where they will be promoting themselves on "Show Champion." This time, Jun saw a lot of familiar faces from the previous day, although only around 60% of them, the remaining idols are different.
Just when they were to take their seats, to Jun"s surprise, Dohyun was called by someone and he went off to talk. After a while, he returned with an unfamiliar 17-year-old boy and introduced him to the group with a huge smile on his face, "this is Lee Chang-Woo. We were in the same cla.s.s. He actually debuted a few weeks before us from Era Entertainment." Jun and others bowed lightly and greeted him, "h.e.l.lo." ChangWoo bowed in return and introduced himself, "h.e.l.lo, I"m Lee Chang-Woo of Q Dream."
Looking at Dohyun and Changwoo, conversing with each other, and then, at Minsu and Minho, Jun kinda felt jealous a bit as he too wanted a friend of the same age group, who can converse with him equally with no reservations. But since it wasn"t possible, Jun just stayed silent like HaeSeong and listened to the songs like the previous day, although that feeling of getting stared by other idols in all sides, still troubled him a bit.
Now, coming on to the program, "Show Champion," it"s a music show just like the previous one, a one hour 15 minutes show featuring 10 male idol groups and 10 female idol groups but the difference is that it will be broadcasted all over South Korea. So, Jun was pretty much looking forward to it as it is the first performance he"ll be showing to his mom as she doesn"t have the habit of browsing the internet or YouTube.
Coming back to the show, in the present year of 2020, they introduced a new Chart. Unlike "The Show," the "Show Champion" program doesn"t have a scoring system but instead, they were just calculated in percentages
So, to explain it clearly, the calculations were divided into 4 simple categories.
The first one is digital and physical sales which have 50%; One physical sale is considered as 10 digital sales;
The second one is Idol-Champ Pre-Voting, which has 20%; Idol-Champ is an app, which is used by many people for several variety programs of the channel. The pre-votings like the other music show has been opened a week earlier, i.e. 23rd Sep, 4 P.M. to 30th Sep, 4 P.M. Good thing is that the app isn"t just restricted to Korea. It was available worldwide and the international fans can also vote them.
The third one is a Broadcast score, which has 20%; The increase of Broadcast score has brought criticism from the media since it"s actually has nothing to do with the song itself. It depends on the song, how many times the song was played on MBC music programs, which kinda partial to the ones who pay more for promoting or should we say big companies. But since it isn"t a reality show program and was just a promotion program, it"s in the channel rights to do that.
The last one is SNS, which has 10%; How much popular the song is on SNS like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc...
So, just based on categories, it"s already pretty much decided that Unlimited"s win was decided from the start. Every idol, sitting in the waiting hall knows of it but still, they also have to promote their songs. Winning isn"t necessary for most of them. As long as they have high exposure and well known all over Korea, it"s enough for most of the idols from small agencies. Only the idol groups of big companies compete for the top spot.
