She ignored her AI which started spouting nonsense again and nervously led the kid away.
Minutes pa.s.sed which they spent on walking. Thankfully, the boy did not complain along the way and even looked carefree and happy as ever as he hummed a familiar tune. The devil in her head was also too free as it kept criticizing the AI of the other.
But she was not. The pain from her head already vanished but due to the situation being quite nerve-wracking, she failed to notice it.
"Hehe, it"s already deserted here!" Suddenly, his youthful voice resounded from behind.
Sofony stopped walking and turned around. It was hard to not feel nervous since she saw his innocent face again.
"Hey, all this while, you keep acting wary of me! Have we met before?" the teenager casually asked after sitting down on the lowest step of the cement stair nearby.
Sofony looked away from the immoral host younger but way stronger than her.
"You"re a host, if I won"t be wary of you, I"d be too much of an idiot."
"Oooh! I see!" His eyes widened, "Ah, what did you say again? I was asking my companion so I didn"t hear from you. Anyway, I know now that we indeed met before this. You"re actually in that bus that I bombed a month ago! Wow! Nice! That"s the best encounter I ever envisioned in my head and I"m glad it somehow came true! It means when we first met, there are many beautiful fireworks!"
The boy looked so pleased with himself. Obviously, he never thought how that "best meeting" left Sofony and her sister"s lives hanging by a thread.
When Sofony was gulping and wondering if he was so higher-leveled that he could inquire hidden information about her, the system replied with a boisterous laugh.
Feeling helpless, she asked, "What do you want? I didn"t have any more contact with you after that. I didn"t mess with you!"
"I didn"t even want to see you again... I"m already going crazy here because Clarissa drove me to the point I had to separate with those two... Although I know you"re a madman, can"t you just focus on that woman? I"m a small fry compared to her and you."
Her eyes hinted these.
"Oooh! I almost forgot! Actually, I don"t have much to say. Just reminding you we don"t owe each other anymore. Hahaha! Remember that fake sister of yours? Oooh, before I forgot, I already asked about you from 37, so don"t be surprised that I know almost everything. Of course, actually, it"s impossible to know that much since even if I have the authority, I"m not that patient. Hahaha."
"So back to what I"m saying, remember when I bombed Clarissa yesterday? Though not intentional, I still saved that nympho girl. It"s enough payback for your cancellation of the warrant, right? Hehehe."
Sofony was at first relieved, but not long after, her jaw dropped. While thankful that this boy probably had no malicious intent against her for the meantime, she couldn"t erase the numbers he said in her mind. "T-thirty-seven?"
The boy gave her a wide grin, "What? Suprised? Thinking why I look like someone who talks to it in my head and not through some phone or any electronic device? Hehehe... Didn"t your companion tell you that at Level 5, if they"re first gen, they can transfer to our brain?"
"..."
That time, Sofony badly wanted to tell him that her system AI was an unhelpful horrible b.a.s.t.a.r.d.
"Whatever, I"m done telling you what I want to say! I accidentally saved your sister so that makes us even! By the way, I"m Leo Jones. It"s nice meeting you, Miss Silver. But I have to go now and stalk my dearest! Buh-bye!!! Oh, wait, but if you don"t want to part ways with me, how about you come with me?>
The boy blinked at her for a couple of moments, seemingly waiting for her response. Sofony recovered from her stupor and though confused and bewildered by this immoral host"s att.i.tude, she didn"t forget to shake her head.
Who would want to go with a lunatic like him?
"Oh, a pity. But fine, buh-bye again!"
"..."
Things happened so fast. Just a while she was being scared of this bomber host who was actually Level 5 or above. Now, he was gone. It was ridiculous how he made her feel so conflicted and terrified even though his intention was merely to tell her he doesn"t want to owe a favor.
"How did he do it? Wait, I seem to remember Steffy saying she teleported before..."
"...."
Now she"s seeing how dangerous the kid really was. If he could appear and disappear anywhere he wants, it was hard not to speculate why Clarissa was still alive.
Sofony calmed herself for a while, erasing the bad and idiotic questions from her mind.
A few seconds later, the effect of her first command finally took root. Extreme grief welled up from her heart which also showed on her face as tears started streaming down.
The grief was replaced with disbelief, then back to sadness, then mixed with extreme hatred.
...
Although he said he"d be stalking his current target, when Leo reappeared, it was not somewhere near Clarissa Guzman.
Anyway, who said hosts couldn"t change their minds or lie? If they said they could not, then they"d be a disgrace as hosts!
So the bomber kid did not really teleport far away. But precisely because of this, somehow he saw Sofony crying from the distance and became quite puzzled. Frowning, he asked, "Hey, 37, this Host 137 is very weak-hearted. How did she even become a host?"
He was now at the rooftop of a nearby building, looking at the plane that just landed. The teenager was talking with his companion busy debating whether they should plant explosives in one of the planes that were about to take off.
That was when he noticed the girl.
He frowned and didn"t reply. He was perplexed because even if she was low-leveled, as a host, she should at least not be this weak. Or was she the crazy type who cries for every little d.a.m.n thing?
He thought for a while then concluded this should be likely because last Sat.u.r.day, he saw her madly fighting with his stalking target. Maybe this was her immoral path. To give people the illusion that she was a naive weakling even though behind their back, she was scheming their downfall. Welp, every host was really immoral. The difference was how each of them shows it.
Leo was the type to blast his way to the top. Though he could also scheme, as a man, why would he bother doing that when a bomb could easily do the trick?
Thus he chuckled and looked back to the unmoving plane at the distance.
"Whatever. I shouldn"t waste time concerning myself with that opportunist crybaby, hahaha! Come, system, give me my next mission! I can"t let this day pa.s.s without blowing something!"
The system AI laughed along with him and said, "Oh! A death game! Sounds fun! Sure! Why not? Hahaha!"
