"Hahaha, you came, you actually came. Just as I thought, It seems everything is falling into place."

Lowen and Bren had their backs against the iron door. Hearing this goblin leader saying everything was falling into place, Lowen knew they had truly messed up. Seeing the goblin leader, Lowen automatically circulated his ki energy and was prepared to fight. Looking at the hundreds of goblins, each one had metal armor, chest plates, leggings, and even helmets. Almost there entire bodies were covered. Even though Lowen and Bren were strong, with all this metal armor there would be some difficulties. Rize pointed at Bren and said.

"You actually dare to come back after knowing what I can do. Good, very good, what a wise decision, hahaha. I command you, kill the boy next to you and then…."

Before Rize finished his sentence, he could already tell at a glance that his magic had no effect. Rubbing his chin in curiosity he asked.

" Hmm, so it seems you two have figured a few things out. How much of it, I wonder? In this situation though, it matters little. It seems this will be a battle of attrition, unfortunately for you though I will win."

Rize waved his hand and commanded his troops.

"No more words are needed, goblins, attack."

Like a hornet"s nest defending their hive, the hundreds of goblins swarmed over en ma.s.s. Lowen and Bren gave each other a nod and the two flashed, disappearing into the horde of goblins. Both were headed for one spot and one spot only. At the exact same time Lowen and Bren appeared right in front of Rize and launched an attack. The glowing sword slashed out and Bren "s metallic claws swiped at Rize"s neck. Just as the two attacks were about to land the goblin earth mage had already made his move. A large thick wall of stone rose up in front of the two"s oncoming attacks, intercepting them perfectly.

*Clank* * Bang*

To loud banging noises rang out when Lowen and Bren"s attacks connected. The two knew this would happen but had to try anyway. With the goblin leader right in front of them, if they ended him, then maybe the battle wouldn"t be completely won but they could take out a big portion of power from the goblins. Lowen and Bren didn"t stop there, once more their bodies flashed and they came around the sides of the wall, once more they attacked.

*Bang* *Bang*

Again their blows were intercepted, this time though, right after their blows, dozens of sharp earth spears shot out from the ground aiming right for their chest. Lowen sidestepped these sharp earth spears and jumped back, Bren as well dodged and the two retreated to the center of the chamber and became guarded. They lost their most valuable opportunity to take out Rize. Giving each other a knowing nod, the two separated. They knew that if they fought back to back, then the earth mage would concentrate his spells on both of them at once but with them separated by a distance, the earth mage could only attack one at a time. This was the only way the two had any chance of fighting and making it out of here. The only good thing about being in an enclosed s.p.a.ce was the fact that arrows wouldn"t come. As a matter of fact, it"s more dangerous for the goblins then it would be for Lowen and Bren. With all these goblins so cl.u.s.tered, they"re all but guaranteed to hit an ally in this s.p.a.ce. What the goblins had instead, were swords, spears, and shields, that on top of their armor would be a lot to deal with, especially since both Lowen and Bren were close combat specialist and held no long-range weapons whatsoever. With the goblins bodies being mostly protected, although Lowen and Bren could cut through their armor with there claws and sword, it required a lot of strength. In this situation, they had to conserve that. Instead, they would go for any and all openings in the armor. Eyes, armpits, groin, back of the knee, the forearms and hands, these were the only places they could attack.

Bren"s body flashed around swiftly as he swiped at his enemy"s eyes. If his enemies couldn"t see then they were basically useless and no longer a threat. In fact, they would even be more of a threat to their surrounding allies, swinging their swords and spears blindly. Lowen as well shadow stepped around his opponents, quite easily stabbing goblins through the eyes, piercing their brains, he killed his enemies in an instant.

Rize saw this and already become annoyed. He knew this would happen but it didn"t mean he could just accept it. With a wave of his hand, the earth mage acknowledged his command and jumped in.

As soon as the goblin mage jumped in, his body flashed forward faster than an arrow and he appeared in front of Bren almost immediately. Equipped with a shield and a heavy mace, this earth mage did not hold back whatsoever. With his shield raised, he rammed into Bren like a boulder down a mountain.

*Bang*

Bren had completely not expected this and his body went flying, and like a heavy crash of thunder, his body slammed into the side of this dome, cracking the wall behind him. Bren had messed up, his focus was on those in his immediate facility that he hadn"t noticed the mages approach. But that doesn"t mean he couldn"t handle it. Stepping out of the wall, a bit of blood spilled down the side of his mouth. Wiping it away, Bren rolled his head around and cracked his neck left and right, he spit the remainder of the blood in his mouth onto the ground and with a terrible grin he said.

"That was a good hit, now try mine."

Bren flashed forward and with an open palm, he swiped at the mage. Raising his shield, the mage blocked Bren perfectly but with Bren"s strength, he was still pushed back several feet. As his feet slid, the goblin turned his heels slightly and anchor himself, stopping Bren"s forward momentum. Raising his mace up high, a small bracelet on the mage"s wrist began to glow a dim green. With a powerful swing, Bren knew immediately that he couldn"t defend against this blow. As the blow came down, Bren quickly jumped back and dodged it but this only made the mage smile with excitement. As the mace struck the ground, the glow coming from the bracelet grew brighter and with it, the ground began to shift. From the tip of the mace all the way out to under Bren"s feet, the ground shifted around, robing Bren of his balance. As Bren fell to the ground, the goblin soldiers stabbed several spears and swords towards him with intent to kill. Bren quickly rolled out of the way, nearly having his body pierced several times. Swinging his arms around in a complete circle, Bren clawed at the back of several goblins knees. Immediately, many goblins collapsed to the ground and screamed in pain but Bren had no time to take joy in his opponent"s downfall. Jumping up, he turned and once again the mace was coming down upon him. Bren immediately dived to the side and the goblin that stood behind them was instantly crushed into a meat pulp, this goblin had unfortunately been too slow. The mage turned and again rushed at Bren but before Bren could defend himself, once more he was bashed by the mage"s shield. Bren was sent flying this time even harder into the dome wall.

*Boom*

This time Bren struggled to step out of the wall. Walking forward he coughed up a mouth full of blood and his body trembled. The mage saw this weakness and rushed forward, bashing his shield at Bren. Bren sidestepped and the mage crashed into the wall. Turning around, it didn"t even seem to faze him, raising his mace the goblin mage attacked again and again.

Lowen thrust out his sword as fast as the wind and with great precision, he stabbed through another goblins eye, piercing his brain killing him instantly. There was no time to celebrate, however, as a spear came stabbing at his back, sidestepping the spear, Lowen"s body seem to blur as he stabbed this attacker in the eye as well. Lowen was handling these goblins perfectly and he had already killed at least 30 but looking around, Lowen noticed something and it made him quite bitter. After Lowen killed a few goblins the pathway in the dome wall would reopen and several more goblins would come out before the pathway once more was sealed shut. It didn"t matter how many he killed, just as quickly another goblin would take its place. It not only completely frustrated Lowen but it also confused him. Right now the goblin mage was currently fighting Bren but everytime the wall would open up and a goblin would come out, right after it came out, the wall would then close again, as Lowen could see no switch or mechanism to open the wall, he a.s.sumed it was being manipulated with magic but if the earth mage was busy fighting, then who was using magic.

Lowen pulled his gaze away from the wall and concentrated on the forces around him. Meanwhile, Rize simply sat on his stone throne looking bored at this life-and-death struggle.

10 minutes, 20, 30, although only 30 minutes have pa.s.sed, Lowen had managed to kill at least a hundred and fifty if not more, at this point he had stopped counting, for there was no reason to. Right now he was more concerned with Bren. Bren had been fighting all this time at a great disadvantage, blood continuously leaped from his mouth as sweat poured down from his skin. His body continuously trembled as he was growing weaker and weaker and if something didn"t change soon he would fall.

With another Bash from the mage, Bren "s body slammed into the wall, this time he fell out of it onto his hands and knees. With an exhausted and injured body, Bren struggled to stand up. This was the perfect opportunity for the mage. Swinging his mace down, he struck the ground and the land shifted once more. Bren who had just made it to his feet immediately fell down again and with that, the mage rushed forward swinging his mace down with tyrannical force, aiming to crush Bren"s skull into nothing more than a b.l.o.o.d.y puddle.

*Bang*

With such a powerful strike and being so close, the goblins mace had hit, only it wasn"t Bren"s head that it struck. Looking down at the young boy in front of him, the mage wasn"t surprised. it was only a matter of time before Lowen had to intervene, the mage just wished he could have gotten the finishing blow in. The two used more strength and the mace and Lowen"s battle hammer, ground against each other making metallic cries echo out repeatedly. With more strength, Lowen pushed his hammer forward and forced the mage back several feet. Picking up Bren"s body, Lowen raced to the wall. Placing Bren"s unconscious body against the wall, Lowen stood in front of him and again took up his stance. This was all he could do, otherwise, Bren would be struck dead. With the wall and Bren behind him, Lowen could not move around as he wished to but because of where he stood, no attacks would come from behind, and with a body as tough as his, the damage from these regular goblin soldiers would not affect him as much. The Mage, however, would make things quite difficult. Rushing forward, the mage raised his shield and bashed it at Lowen and Lowen countered, swinging his hammer with Incredible force.

*BANG*

The hammer and shield connected and the mage was forced back far away, Lowen as well almost lost his balance but with his tyrannical strength and his low center of gravity as well as his shadow step technique, he managed to stand strong and upright. The other goblins seeing this all attacked at once. Sword"s and spears all slashed and stabbed towards Lowen"s body from every angle. Using his snake fist, Lowen smacked away several of these weapons, with focused eyes and his great precision, Lowen had hit away many of these weapons on their flat side, just barely avoiding injury but he couldn"t get them all. With Bren down and out behind him, Lowen could not move out of the way, otherwise, Bren would die. Circulating his ki to his utmost with everything he had, he took swords and spears head on.
