Tammy was shocked for a moment. He didn"t understand why Shiloh was asking this. He originally thought… He thought that Shiloh would scold him.
Tammy nodded his head very honestly.
Shiloh took out a whole, golden roasted chicken from his backpack and handed it to Tammy.
"Go and lie on the straw." Shiloh said.
Although he didn"t know why Shiloh was telling him to do so, Tammy was still very obedient. He slowly made his way to the straw bedding, holding tightly to the roast chicken in his hands as he lay down.
He could see the princess lying on the ground at the entrance of the cave from the corner of his eye; the dust and dirt from the ground had dirtied her pink gown somewhat. A very ridiculous idea suddenly sprang up in Tammy"s mind.
It was as though Shiloh had deliberately brought the princess to the ground so that he could take the only spot available on the straw.
"Eat the meat if it hurts."
Huh? What? Tammy blinked his eyes and looked at Shiloh.
Shiloh touched Tammy"s head. His voice was light and calm, and very pleasant.
"Be obedient." He said.
Tammy blinked again, and this time he felt that his ears were a little hot.
Shiloh took out a small bottle of wine from his backpack and poured it over Tammy"s ear.
There was a sudden burst of pain from his ear. Tammy"s wings unconsciously tensed up, and he bit down fiercely on the roast chicken in his mouth.
He finally remembered that his ear had been scratched by an arrow.
And Shiloh was helping him clean his wound.
How nice.
It hurt a bit, but Shiloh"s movements were slow and careful. Tammy felt his heart beat a little faster, a warm current flowing from where Shiloh"s fingers touched his skin all the way to his heart before rushing from his heart to his limbs. This kind of extremely warm and gentle temperature almost made him unable to hold back his trembling.
Tammy"s eyes turned a little damp. He didn"t know if it was due to the pain, or if it was because of something else.
Before Shiloh left, he helped Tammy roast a lot of food.
While eating a roast chicken, Tammy asked, "Why did you come to save the princess? Is it for a reward? Or is it because you like her?"
Tammy silently thought to himself: If Shiloh wanted a reward, he would give Shiloh all the jewelry and treasures in the dragon cave. But if… If Shiloh… If Shiloh liked the princess, then he would go and capture this princess every day from now on! And… And--He wouldn"t let her sleep on the straw, and only give her the worst parts of the meat! Really!
But Shiloh just glanced at him calmly and said, "If I don"t come, then someone else will come."
"Others will come?" Tammy was dazed for a moment. He couldn"t quite understand how Shiloh"s answer had anything to do with the question he"d asked.
Shiloh handed Tammy a roasted pig"s trotter. "Because, other knights will… come and bully you."
Tammy blinked slowly.
“Then… Why didn"t you just stop me from going and s.n.a.t.c.hing a princess?"
Shiloh stood up. “Because you said you were bored."
Shiloh"s dark brown eyes flashed with a series of complex emotions. Sparks from the leaping flames reflected on his face and his expression became extremely deep and distant.
This person had already become a dragon.
So, what else could he do?
He could do nothing but… but let this child, who should have lived a carefree life, be a little less sad.
Let him do whatever he wanted to do.
He was here, and he wouldn"t let things get too bad.
After Shiloh left, Tammy lay on the stone, gnawing at the meat while he looked at the grey mouse. He hesitated for a long time before finally mumbling:
“Say… Does Shiloh like me?"
