Dirty bowls were discarded on the coffee table after finis.h.i.+ng the delicious soup Nanny Ying brought. Wasting no time, the two jumped on the bean bags and turn on the game console to play Nightingale in two player mode.

A Celestial leveled Sorceress and a Supreme Grandmaster leveled a.s.sa.s.sin entered the game.

"Supreme Grandmaster already?" Lillie squinted her eyes in suspicion.

"Don"t look at me like that, I didn"t cheat...Yifei helped me rank up." He mumbled the last part but it"s audible enough for Lillie to hear.

A few hours pa.s.sed already. The clock struck noon and by that time, the two had entered a goblin"s lair in the upper realm to loot some treasures.

"Are you planning on telling them soon?" Lillie did not remove her eyes from the game as she dropped an abrupt question.

Ethan"s a.s.sa.s.sin stopped moving as his thumbs stopped controlling him.

"Not yet."

"Remember that they deserve to know what happened to you too. Doctor Song and his uncle would also have to apologize for lying." Lillie was not sure if Song Mo Kun know about his father"s secret operation on Ethan.

But if he did not told her anything, Lillie a.s.sumed he"s not aware.

[You have found 3 Rank 7 healing elixir and a Grade A dagger!] The game announced when Lillie defeated the goblin king and dug up a secret cave. Lillie took the treasures and gifted one elixir and the dagger to Ethan.

"I"m just worried that they would blame Zihao and the others for it even if it"s my decision not to tell them." He accepted the gifts.

Lillie eyes flickered at him. Noting his rather downcast expression soiling his devilishly handsome face, she let down her controller and locked her fingers with his.

"They"ll understand. Knowing the kind of person you are, they"ll understand that you just don"t want to worry them." She rubbed his calloused hands in rea.s.surance.

"However, you also can"t blame them for being upset. You"re their child, they would think that it"s their fault you got hurt."

"But it"s not—"

"I know." She cuts him off. "Trust me, I know. But that"s just how they are." Lillie was speaking from experience.

She will never forget that day when her parents weeped for her and blamed themselves for not protecting her hard enough. Lillie knew, that even today, they have not recovered from the trauma of almost losing their daughter.

Being a parent demands a great amount of effort. Lillie"s mind wondered what kind of mother she will be to her future children, and what kind of father will Ethan be?

"Oh, by the way," Lillie remembered something, "mom called me yesterday. Remember when dad asked us to go visit them?"

Ethan nodded.

"She told me that my paternal uncle and his family will go back to Country K in two days. My grandparents plan to welcome them back with a party at the old estate, plus a baby shower for my cousin sister. Mom thought it"ll be the perfect time to visit." Lillie paused for a bit before adding, "they also invited your family."

"I believe mom had already informed my mom about this?" Ethan stated the obvious.

"Definitely." Those two are inseparable.

"So what is your uncle and his family are like?" Ethan inquired curiously.

"Uncle Arthur is the third child and the youngest son. He has three children, one girl and two boys. I"m closest to the eldest, my cousin sister, since we"re the same age. She"s already married and has a son. I heard they"ll be expecting twins this time."

She haven"t seen her G.o.dson since he was three. He"s probably seven years old by now.

"Does having twins run in your family?"

"No, her husband does."

"Ahh..." He drawled, his mind flying towards a new thought.

Lillie raised her eyebrow. "What"s on your mind?"

"I"m just thinking the what ifs."

"Care to share?"

"What if...things work out for us since high school?" Ethan did not know what came to his mind to blurt this out loud.

Silence prevailed for a few moments. "...we would already have a child running around the house." Lillie answered for him.

It"s not only Ethan who was thinking of the "what ifs".

Sensing the grip holding his hands tightening, Ethan leaned them to his lips. "Hey, what"s wrong?"

"I"m jealous." She admitted without batting an eyelash.

"Of what?" Ethan was stunned.

Lillie? Jealous?

"If I recall correctly, my cousin sister married the love of her life at 18, had a handsome seven year old son, and is now pregnant with twins..." She said. "I quite envy that."

"I"m sorry, I shouldn"t have told you that." Ethan blamed himself for upsetting his wife once again.

"No, no, it"s not your fault." She placed her index finger on his lips to shush him. "It"s never been your fault."

It"s mine. You should blame me for being ignorant of your feelings.

Ethan frowned. "It"s not your fault either. Don"t blame yourself." He could tell when Lillie is making herself feel bad.

"That nurse was right. We"re still young and we have a long future ahead of us." Ethan wrapped his arms around her waist, caging her into his warm embrace. "I admit that it"s frustrating that we didn"t marry at that age too, but that doesn"t mean it"s too late."

He scoop her body on his lap, letting her head rest on his chest as he shuffled at a much comfortable position on the huge bean bag.

"We"re in no rush, Lillie." His chin rested on top of her head, the sweet aroma of her shampoo entering his nostrils.

Unbeknownst to him, his lovely wife hid yet another cute expression from him as she pressed her face with flushed cheeks on his chest.

Thank you, Ethan...
