Ping Xiao Yue had never been grateful to Lillie Bai and her cousin brother that they went easy on her back then. If she"ve went too far like Di Li Rong.......heaven knows if she"ll still be alive to tell the tale.
"Ah...she fainted." Lillie muttered in disappointment. On the wall behind Di Li Rong, just a few inches from her left ear, was a noticeable bullet hole. Small particles of the wall dropped on the floor with steam oozing out from the hole because of the intense projectile.
The restaurant"s personnels came rus.h.i.+ng towards the scene anxiously. The authorities had been contacted secretly and quietly. Di Li Rong was arrested for caring an unauthorized weapon and for attempting murder.
Di Li Rong"s family went with the police for interrogations likewise for her companions, whom were deemed suspects with the affiliation in attempting harm towards Lillie Bai and committing countless violations and crimes like thievery, a.s.sault and destroying private properties.
"I expect this occurrence to be dealt with quietly." Ethan gave the police a look.
"Of course, Mr. Li."
"Not a word will be spread of this matter." Lillie ordered the restaurant"s manager.
"Certainly, Miss Bai."
As the saying goes, great minds think alike.
Ping Xiao Yue was unusually quiet, simply too awestruck as she observed the two. Their unintentional linked thoughts and actions are creepily amazing. Ping Xiao Yue now wanted to slap her past self silly for being delusional.
Who was she kidding? These two were clearly a precious gem cut in half.
After talking to the restaurant"s staffs, Lillie turned her attention back at the former actress. "Why?" She asked curtly.
"Huh?" Ping Xiao Yue was pulled from her reverie by Lillie"s question. "Why what?"
"Why help?" Lillie patiently repeated.
"Oh..." Ping Xiao Yue muttered, her eyes downcast, not knowing what to answer. Maybe it was because of guilt? Or she wanted to prove that she can change.
"I"ve experience these kinds of scenes in the past. The funny thing is that I was the bully." Letting out a half-hearted laugh, Ping Xiao Yue awkwardly scratched her cheek with a finger. "...I..I just don"t like seeing my family being bullied."
"Family?" Lillie"s eyebrow arched.
Ping Xiao Yue huffed, pouting in slight annoyance. "You"re cousin brother"s betrothed, aren"t you? Humph! If you dare be bullied by a bunch of n.o.bodies again, I"ll s.n.a.t.c.h him away from you!"
Lillie hummed causing Ping Xiao Yue"s heart to jump. Why did she have to tell her that? G.o.d, she"s so stupid sometimes.
Ethan tried to discern his cousin for any ulterior motive. Seeing non, he nodded in contentment. "Thank for standing up for Lillie, Xiao Yue."
Ping Xiao Yue was rendered speechless. This was the first time her cousin brother ever thanked her. It was about Lillie but she"s not complaining.
"N-no problem." She muttered sheepishly before turning her heels around, finally leaving.
Lillie and Ethan watched until Ping Xiao Yue"s frantic figure disappeared through the corner. Giving each other a look of silent agreement, they walked away from the scene, hand-in-hand and came back to their table. Fortunately, the food was still warm.
The restaurant"s guests had no idea on what happened as they cluelessly continue with their meal. Lillie and Ethan made sure that they are unaware of what happened.
Ethan"s eyebrows furrowed, upset that their first dinner as an official couple was ruined. He really wished he could just grabbed that b*tch and throw her on White Bird Organization"s Blazing Purgatory. He would enjoy hearing her scream for mercy, he maniacally thought.
Oh wait, he can, actually. The authorities wouldn"t even dare oppose him.
"Forget what happened." Ethan was snapped out of his trance by Lillie"s voice. "Let"s enjoy our dinner." She said, raising her gla.s.s filled with red wine.
"En." Ethan nodded, clanking his gla.s.s with hers and took a sip. Oh he"ll forget this incident alright. Right after he made sure that b*tch got what she deserved.
