Leanna By Miu

Chapter 69

"I guess you also own this place, huh?"

"Mm...."

I somewhat shook my head before I swiped my card to enter my unit at Azure Sky in New Haven.

The smell of fresh, clean air immediately greeted us when we entered.

Good, they already cleaned the place.

The interior was exactly like my unit in New York. Pastel colored aquamarine and white. Simple and cozy, just the way I like it.

"Make yourself comfortable. Do you want water?"

Again, what"s with always offering him water?

Not my fault! I don"t have anything at the moment.

Cain remained standing and stared at the fidgeting girl.

"No need to worry about me." Then he sat and leaned on the sofa, crossing his legs as he continued to stare at the still anxious girl.

I quickly went to my room, tossed my bag on the bed and grabbed my memo pad and custom-made fountain pen.

I was about to go to the bathroom when my bedroom door opened, and Cain leisurely entered like he owned the place (well, he does kinda" owns the whole place).

Instantly, I felt nervous.

It"s very dangerous for us to be alone in a room with a bed in it.

"D-do you need something?"

"I want to see OUR room."

"..."

.....right.

I ignored him and went to the bathroom. I listed the things that I needed, then went to my walk-in closet to do the same.

After my bedroom, I checked the other rooms and areas that needed additional things. All along, Cain kept on following behind me without uttering a word, his eyes not leaving me for a second.

Feeling uncomfortable, I finally turned to look at him.

"Aren"t you going to return to New York?"

"Are you going shopping?" He asked me instead of answering.

"Yes. That"s what I"ll be doing the whole day."

"Let me accompany you."

I raised an eyebrow.

"You have a meeting."

"I"ll postpone it."

"No."

I grabbed the handle of my door and opened it, motioning for him to leave.

"Message me when you arrive in New York."

....

....

We stared at each other, neither one backing down. Then he sighed and slightly shook his head as he slowly strode towards the exit. He stopped in front of me, and then he flashed out a black platinum card in his hand.

I looked questioningly at him.

"What"s this?"

"For your use."

I frowned.

"Cain, I can pay for my expenses, you don"t have to--"

"Leanna… please let me have my pride as the head of the family."

"..."

"..."

What head of the family?!!

We"re not even married yet!

We don"t even have kids yet!

It was my turn to sigh. Knowing that he wouldn"t budge on this, I reluctantly accepted the card.

"Use it as you see fit."

"Mm...."

I stared at him with longing and sadness in my eyes. Just the thought of parting and not seeing him for who knew how long made my heart shuddered and empty.

...

...

We gazed at each other in stillness, trying to memorize each other"s faces. Then he slowly leaned closer until our faces were just inches apart.

He stopped, seemingly waiting for my approval.

I closed my eyes.

The kiss was gentle, soft and slow, savoring each second. I didn"t know how long we remained like that. Then he raised my chin and tilted his head to deepen the kiss. His tongue gently intertwined with mine. Slowly sucking and biting.

I felt his actions became more intense. He grabbed my bottom and was about to carry and pin me on the wall when I pulled away from his kiss and gently shoved him towards the exit – surprisingly, he didn"t resist.

"I"ll call and message you every now and then. When we have the time, let"s try to meet up."

Then I slammed the door, not waiting for him to respond. I was afraid any moments longer with him, my resolve would crumble to dust, and I would just forget about the whole University thing and go with him to New York instead.

I sighed and took deep breathes, trying to shake off that feeling of sadness and yearning.
