The five were slowly making their way through the vents. They eventually reached the laboratory. If Gendor was not here too that would mean he was not inside the facility or he was already dead. He could not have been killed in these 2 days as otherwise, Linri believed that Sarah had enough a conscience to warn them of the danger. Still thinking about it another way if he was not dead and out of this facility that would mean Sarah had already broken him out and this was a trap set to get rid of Linri. Both situations would be bad.Just like before Selim phased a part of his face to see what was down there and thankfully they found 2 scientists working on something. This was both good news and bad news. The good news was Gendor was most likely here. The bad news was if they could not knock the two scientists simultaneously, one of them had the chance to sound the alarm.
This was all on Selim"s shoulders. He was the only one that could attack the scientist without making any sounds. The others would have to open the hatch and jump down making too much noise. Selim however could just phase through the vent and jump or rather fall on them.
"What"s the situation?" Linri asked through the comm.
"There are 2 nerds down there working on something. There is a high chance that our target is in here." Selim explained the situation he saw.
"Don"t call them nerds!" Leslie berated Selim.
"Nerds are nerds! What"s wrong with calling them what they are?" Selim was going to keep talking when another voice shut him up.
"Keep the comms clean. If you screw this up there won"t be any payment." Hayato"s words were very effective as both Leslie and Selim immediately stopped talking.
"What"s the plan?" Luke asked.
That was what Linri thinking about too but he could not come up with any answers. He was good at planning but he was no professional thief or a mercenary how was he supposed to come up with something on the spot?
"Selim, can you take both of them out simultaneously?" Linri asked the most obvious question.
"It would be hard if I am not allowed to kill. I can kill both of them but knocking both out without sounding the alarms is impossible." Selim"s words were reasonable and even surprised Linri. He was actually able to kill both of them but the question is should they really kill them? This was supposed to be an easy mission. Break-in, grab the data, rescue Gendor and get out the same way they came in. If murder is in the equation everything would blow out of portions.
"Hayato how much would the situation escalate if we were to kill the scientist?" Since he did not know the answer himself it was the best to ask someone who does so Linri did not hesitate to ask Hayato for his opinion.
"Actually not by much. As long as we delete any footage of ourselves they won"t know who did it. And even if they know, they can"t give an international warrant for us without explaining what we did here. Albion wants to keep this project a secret so without telling about what we did they can only craft a story. When they do, it would make other countries suspicious and that would give us a wiggle room for negotiations with them. If we ever get caught that is." Hayato calmly a.n.a.lysed their situation and gave them an answer.
Linri was not sure if it would be as easy as Hayato made it out to be but right now he did not have any other option so he gave the Selim the go for killing.
Selim excitedly waited for the perfect moment and when one of the scientists was directly below him he immediately phased through and knocked him down. Without even waiting for a scream he quickly cut his throat with a knife and threw it to the other scientist who was about to scream. The knife hit him in the throat and he spewed blood. He couldn"t even make a sound before he was embraced by death.
Now that Selim killed the pair the others climbed out of the vent except Leslie.
"Hayato start deleting all the experimentation data and delete any footage of us once you are done. Luke, Selim guard the doors and warn us if anyone gets close." Linri gave a command to Hayato and the others. This was the usual commands so they did not have any kind of problem with following them but Selim started to think that Linri did not know c.r.a.p about actually leading a heist. He even wondered why Hayato let him lead and why even allowed Linri to be here in the first place.
Selim knew that the target was "supposedly" Linri"s friends but he did not really have to be here did he? He did not deny that the guy was genius to find different ways to utilise their abilities for a break-in but that was about it. If he were to give a metaphor that would be that Linri was more of a tactician than a general. Both could crafts plans but their expertise was obviously different.
Linri was oblivious to Selim"s thoughts and even if he knew, he would probably agree with Selim. He himself knew that he did not need to be here but he was afraid that Gendor would create a scene. If he was here there was a chance that he could calm him down with his ident.i.ty as Max. There was also the fact that he did not trust these guys fully but it would not be enough to put his own life into danger. He just wanted to make sure that the knowledge about their true ident.i.ties would be kept secret.
The laboratory they were in was one just like in the sci-fi movies. There were computers, vials with chemicals in and them and lastly giant gla.s.s tubes that had things inside. They looked like monsters from the movies. When he was inspecting the room Linri finally found Gendor he was inside the giant tubey thingy. His eyes were closed and there was a respiratory tube in his mouth. He had black hair and toned muscles. The most obvious thing about him was the fact that he did not possess a belly b.u.t.ton.
"Hayato can you open this?" Linri asked through the comm.
"Is that the target?" Hayato asked to confirm
"Yes."
"Give me a second." Hayato immediately started to work on it but then suddenly alarms started to go off and red lights started to flicker throughout the facility.
