Linri"s back was covered in a cold sweat. He was so close to dying just now. This time, he had no grand back up plan or a sure way to escape death. His only trump card turned out to be useless and he almost paid the price for that with his own life! He was currently angry beyond measure. His fists were clenched so tight that his nails were stabbing his own palm. He was careless and arrogant. I guess his own words were true with great power comes an even greater arrogance... How could he forget such a simple thing!?"Who are you?" Zero"s voice was calm but his sword was pointing towards James who was picking his own ear. He could feel that Old man James was much more of a threat to him than all the people in this place combined. How could some like him even be here? Most importantly why didn"t he notice his presence before?
Unbeknown to Zero Linri was wondering the same question. Old man James was the reason he decided to attend the ceremony in the first place. He was the school janitor and he was an admin only character. After a fight, he would appear and immediately fix everything in a second almost as if nothing ever happened. Also when there was a +18 content going on in the club he would magically appear there and make the said students wear thick winter clothes. Once James was done with them they wouldn"t even be able to move and another RP character would have to come there to take their clothes off. Of course, not in a dirty way otherwise, James would appear once more.
"I am James. The Janitor" said James while flicking the filth he picked up from his ear. Then something unimaginable happened and Zero suddenly crashed into the wall. It happened way too fast for Linri to see anything! Even weirder part was that James was still standing on the same spot without moving. Did that mean Zero was. .h.i.t by that piece of filth?
"Now that"s interesting. I didn"t know he would be here" Solas" melodic voice was heard once again.
Linri had guesses about who James was. You see, canonically, nothing about James was ever revealed. He was just your every day overpowered Janitor, nothing out of ordinary. But there was one instance where his ident.i.ty was revealed, unfortunately, it was in a non-cannon side event so it couldn"t really be called trustworthy. As some of you might have guessed it was a Christmas side event and in there James was revealed to be the Saint Nicholas or better known as Santa Claus! He appeared and granted everyone a wish. If you desired you could even wish to spend time with someone who already died. I mean they would disappear after that day but still!
Linri wanted to confirm if the things in the side events were cannon or not. So what better way was there aside from making him fight Zero? If James was defeated he could still let Solas incarnate and kick Zero"s a.s.s. Of course, that was a.s.suming his own life was in danger. Thank G.o.d James was stronger than he thought otherwise he would be dead meat just now.
"Who is he?" Linri could not help but ask. He was too shocked to see James" prowess.
*Crash*
Before Solas could answer Zero darted out of the debris and attacked James. They started a furious battle in the sky that was too fast for his eyes to follow. They became two blurs and if you weren"t paying attention you wouldn"t even see they were there. Then they suddenly stopped.
"You! I know who you are! You are the abominable son of Gurgos. The one who refused the grace of G.o.ds"
Zero seemed out of breath while James still seemed relaxed. It seemed like he was the one who came out on top from their "little" scuffle.
"I don"t know what you are talking about" James denied vehemently.

"You can"t trick me! I know all about your past doings and how you are still on the run from them. I didn"t think you would dare show your face in here of all places." James suddenly stopped being relaxed and there was an air of danger surrounding him.
"Kid, If I were you I would choose my words carefully. Otherwise, let alone accomplis.h.i.+ng your mission you might even lose your head" Zero burst out into a laugh.
"You might be right. If I fight you now, in this weakened state, I would definitely lose but that doesn"t mean you can keep me in here" and Zero suddenly vanished from their sight.
The opening ceremony carnage had ended just like that. Linri felt that his situation was too surreal. Just two minutes ago he was about to die and now everything suddenly returned back to normal like nothing ever happened. Anyone would feel weird in that situation.
Now that Zero had left Old man James flew down next to Zave.
"I guess this is the end of our agreement. Since my ident.i.ty is exposed I can"t stay here any longer. Don"t worry about him, he knows that I was here so he wouldn"t dare to attack again" After leaving behind those words Old man James also vanished from their sight.
"It"s a shame he left like that" boomed Lozna"s ancient and haggard voice in Linri"s head.
"Who is he?" He asked one more time. He needed to know. James was just a minor character in the RP club so he was a variable. That was why he had tried to figure out more about him. If he knew he was this strong he wouldn"t have done this in the first place. With a powerhouse like James protecting here, they would have been safer and his own actions had destroyed that possibility.
"He is Nicholas, son of Gurgos the G.o.d of Messengers. I think you mortals also called him Santa Claus" Solas answered with her melodic voice.
"Gurgos? Is he also from the Togk pantheon?"
"No, he is from the Mt Olympus." Now that name was familiar but there wasn"t a G.o.d named Gurgos in the Greek pantheon as long as Linri could remember. Did that mean he was just the son of a minor G.o.d? If the son of a minor G.o.d was already this strong how strong was the real major G.o.ds?
"Why are the G.o.ds of Olympus chasing him?"
"You are not strong enough to know of such matters yet!" Lozna berated Linri. The worst part was, he was right. Today he found out that he was becoming too big for his britches and he needed to peg it down a notch. He swore that he wouldn"t make a mistake like that.
"Your body is finally strong enough to accept the power we couldn"t bestow upon you back then. Now that we did, we are hoping you won"t disappoint us Linri. Don"t forget your promise" That was at least some good news. He finally had access to his [Thermal Vision].
