While they finally arrived at the guest room. Jaime was going to say something but she was stopped by Linri. He signalled her to be quiet. Jaime was taken back. Honestly at this point if Linri said there was a sound sensitive monster in the room she would just say "f*ck it" and go out in the woods to sleep.Linri typed something in his phone and handed it to Jaime.
"Werewolf=Acute hearing. Don"t talk. We just met today. No Autumnfall"
Reading that Jaime understood why he stopped her. Still she could not help but feel that living in this house was like a ticking time bomb. Just yesterday she was having a normal life. Now she was under the same roof with a werewolf. Wait. Didn"t Kasaix said they had bloodl.u.s.t?
This time it was Jaime"s turn to type in the phone and handed it back to Linri.
"Werewolf bloodl.u.s.t danger?"
Linri seemed like he was thinking before typing.
"No?" before waiting for her reply he immediately turned back and left the room.
"Anyway you can see where everything is. Goodnight!" so Linri left like that leaving behind a dazed Jaime.
What did he mean by No. Why was there a question mark. You are a G.o.d d.a.m.n question mark. Your whole family is a question mark you weirdo. She was very angry and scared at the same time. Arkady wouldn"t do anything to her right. Right?
Jaime was not able to get a good sleep that night because of the question mark Linri put. When she closed her eyes she could see a savage werewolf looking at her.
So the morning arrived.
When Linri got up and took his shower he could already here voices downstairs. It seemed like they had already started the breakfast. After putting on Linri"s iconic black s.h.i.+rt and pants he also made his way downstairs and saw his parents and Jaime having a hefty breakfast. Jaime had black black circles around her eyes. It seemed like she was still disturbed over what happened last night which was reasonable.
"Good morning." said Linri while yawning and pulled a chair to sit down. He was sitting opposite to his father and right next to Jaime.
"Oh yeah Jaime now that I think about it. I dont think I got your number last night." said Linri casually.
"Linri, dont tell me you are trying to pick me up?" said Jaime playfully and with a smug look on her face. She wanted to get back at Linri for the joke last night and embarra.s.s him in front of his parents. At least she thought it was a joke. Yep definitely a joke.
"What"s wrong with me trying to pick up my future girlfriend?" Linri said sarcastically. The thing was it didn"t sound sarcastic at all. Immediately the kitchen turned quiet. It sounded like his mother dropped something but Linri couldn"t see it clearly since she was was.h.i.+ng the dishes in front of the sink.
Arkady"s jaw was dropped and thinking "d.a.m.n that was smooth"
At the same time Lyra was thinking "I guess we have to discipline him a little. If he is like this with every girl in the city its not gonna take long before half the girls start living together with us"
Being the one in question Jaime was as red as a beet. This whole thing had blew up at her face and she remembered that in the game Jaime and Linri was a couple. So she was thinking that they also had to be one in the future too. Thinking how Linri comported her last night and got beaten up for her Jaime thought it wouldn"t be a bad idea to date him if she had to.
" I wo-wouldnt mind dating you I- I guess" said Jaime. She was so embara.s.sed that she wanted the ground the swallow her up.
At that moment Linri was spreading some jelly to his toast so he did not see neither his father"s nor Jaime"s reaction. He had honestly thought they were joking around. He did not have a low EQ but how could he expect a girl she only once IRL would say that seriously. He had seriously underestimated the effects of the "suspension bridge effect".
"Nah, I"ll pa.s.s. I wouldn"t date you." instantly the temperature in the room dropped. What he meant to say was they didn"t have to date just because Jaime and Linri dated in the game. He also had a girl friend back home so yeah.
"What do you mean?" Jaime voice colder than the North pole. Finally Linri noticed something was going on but he did not understand what it was. He personally thought he was pretty clear.
"Exactly what it sounds like" Linri said. Since they can not talk about Autumnfall he thought Jaime should get the cue by now.
At that moment Jaime was having an unspeakable urge to hit the insensitive guy sitting next to her. If he wanted to reject her he could have done it in a more gentlemanly way. Why did he have to be so blunt? Just when she was thinking whether she should hit him or not she felt a tingling sensation from her hand. When she looked she saw that her hand was already clenched to a hit and Linri was already hit from the back of his head.
Jaime was shocked she did not know what happened. She was only thinking about hitting him and she had already done that unconsciously. Jaime was a body pract.i.tioner. She had 3x superior agility and 2x exceptional speed. So it did not even take a second for her to hit Linri.
"I-I"m sorry. I did not mean to. I- I .. Let me get the first aid kit" and Jaime stormed off from the kitchen.
Linri was as shocked as Jaime. Before he could react she had already left the room and Linri was left with a bleeding nose. He could not understand why she would hit him suddenly. It was only a joke. Was there any need to take it so seriously?
"Dad? Something tells me that if it goes on like this I won"t survive for long." Linri looked at his father pitifully.
"Yeah. I can see that" Despite what he said Arkady did not have any intention to get involved in this matter. This little rascal deserved it. Just now he was complimenting him for his flirting skills but he screwed up big time the moment after.
"You served in the military right? Is there anything and I mean ANYTHING you can teach me? If not I think I am gonna enrol in a Self-Defence course. Just in this 2 days I was beaten up more than I was in my whole life. I am honestly scared for my life" Linri literally begged his father.
Seeing his son Arkady thought it would be a good time to teach his some martial arts. They had some powerful enemies and it wouldn"t hurt for Linri to know some basic Self-Defence. Also the population of female monsters had doubled. He could barely contend with one himself so how could he expect any help from this weak little kid to survive on his own.
"Fine I can teach you some basic stuff everyday after breakfast" said Arkady.
