Legend Of Bumi

Chapter 2

Two people seem to be fighting. One of them sitting on the chest of the others who was lying helpless.

The one who wins was Lie. He has black hair with sides on his forehead, wearing a black T-shirt and knee-length shorts. An appearance commonly used by metropolitan younglings on earth in the 21st century.

Meanwhile, the mounted young man looks like an archer from fantasy stories of the medieval era.

Lie took the fallen bow, then he stood up and give his hand to help the young man.

"As I said, I have no evil intention, please do not shoot me with your weapon. My name is Ardyan Lie, call me Lie."

The young man in front of him did not accept defeat. He pulled Lie hand, then hit his face.

"Nero," snapped the young man as he struggled to his feet.

"d.a.m.n, this guy does not know when to stop," said Lie while holding his painful face.

"Come on here, attack me like before!" Said Nero who put the horse stance like a boxer.

Lie threw his spit then advanced to attack.

Welcoming him, Nero unleashes the fist of boxing strike.

While breathing, Lie fended off Nero"s attack with his hand. It"s not a common defense but a circular of hand movements that are flowing the opponent power, so it becomes unbalanced.

"I"m sure you also do not know the concept of Qi," Lie snarled as he hit his opponent"s chest.

Although the blow is only hit Nero"s hard protective armor, but the Qi energy able to penetrate into his chest. Make him knelt down in pain.

"Please stop this. You will not be able to defeat me in the fight."

"Do not act arrogant, Leazha!" Nero throws a pouch that glows brightly because of his chanting spell.

"d.a.m.n, what"s this? Flashbang?"

Can"t see anything, Lie resigned to receive a blow repeatedly.

"What are you doing? Why is your body so hard without using any magic?!" Nero shouted while continuing to hit.

"It"s a technique of hardening the muscles with breathing! Argh, it still hurts, okay, I give up, stop!"

Nero stopped his attack so they could take their breath. Both of them sat panting.

"Huh, though it"s just a small fight it feels tired. I think I have to improve my stamina," Lie murmured while taking a breath. "Hey, the flashbang ... I mean the light you put out was ... magic?"

"Yes. And I will not be able to defeat you? Nonsense. You have given up, "Nero replied with a mocking smile.

"No, it doesn"t count, you cheat," Lie refused to admit defeat.

Suddenly, Nero looks panic. Then, he tried to grab the bow that Lie held.

Avoiding the strikes, Lie lifted the bow so that Nero"s effort failed, "Hey, wait a minute, I can"t give you the bow. What if you attack me with this? Dangerous," he sighed heavily.

"Give me the bow!" Nero ignores complaints directed at him.

Then he grabbed Lie"s neck as he tried to grab the bow that was raised high.

While keeping the weapons in his grasp, Lie started babbling, "Nah! Oi, what"s up with you? Can you invite me to communicate at first? You act like idiots."

"You"re the one who is an idiot, Jardng! Eirschfat! Look at your back!"

Though Lie did not believe Nero"s words completely, he remained tempted to look at his back while strengthening the grip on the bow.

There is a creature that resembles a bear standing behind his back. The height of the beast is not less than five feet tall. Its fur color is brown. The head looks like a tiger.

It was ready to smash its claws at both of them.

"Duck!" Nero shouted.

"Where is the duck?!" Lie asked.

Lucky for him. Nero took Lie"s body to bend over to the ground.

"Idiot!"

They almost lost both heads. Not only managed to save two-lives, Nero immediately threw another pouch.

"Leatha," a rendering of a spell chanted by Nero.

The pouch began to shine brightly.

"Aaaaargghhh, happened again! My eyes!"

"Stupid, why not take your eyes off? Ah, come on. Follow me, try to keep running in my direction." Nero took Lie"s hand and ran for it.

In the white blurred vision, Lie tried not to panic. He knew very well that at this moment he could die at any time. The only choices he has is to trust his life to the young man who just fought with him.

It was miraculous; he can run smoothly just relying on Nero guidance. Lie seemed aware whether the path they were pa.s.sing was full of gravel, holes, and obstacles that need clear eyes to pa.s.s through. Even so, maybe this is the first time for him to give his full safety to a stranger.

"Stop here," Nero said while picking some gra.s.s. Then he rubbed it into his body.

"Scrub this into your body," he continued as he handed it to Lie.

"What"s this? The gra.s.s bath?"

"Do it, and bow your face. Agrya is the name of that creature. Besides relying on sight, it detects its prey with the sense of smell."

Lie rubbed his eyes with both hands, his vision slowly improving.

"Can we fight him with your magic powers? Or with your arrows? You insist on taking your bow before. That means you tend to fight that beast."

"Yes, we could have killed it with magic and arrows, maybe even with the Qi you"re proud of, but we still have to run away after that."

"The reason?"

"Look," Nero answered the question by pointing his finger at the crowd of Agrya.

"They do not hunt alone. Usually, the Agrya scatter to search for their prey, then collect it in front of their leader. We are lucky not to meet more than one a while ago," he continued.

Some Agrya came with their prey that looked like ruminant dying creatures flanked by the jaws of the beast. Their number now reaches 5 Agrya.

"H ... hey, isn"t that?" Lie pointed to one of Agrya who was carrying a human.

That man looks dying. Arya"s fangs clung to the man"s body. The beast takes the man proudly to their leader, who seems a little bigger than the others.

Another Agrya comes bringing other humans. This time the victims were women and even the children. They collected people just like a pile of meat.

The humans are still alive despite being severely injured by bites on their body. Some screamed hysterically, and the children cried in terror.

Lie"s face turned pale with the horrific sight.

"H ... hey, can we do something to help them?"

He knew that they would not be able to face the beasts, but as a human being, he could not see humankind being made for a meal either.

"Shut up," Nero said as he gritted his teeth. His hands were clenched in trembling. He also seems unable to accept this, "If only... my Mana still intact."

"What?" Lie asked because he couldn"t understand what Nero muttered is.

"Forget it," Nero answer.

There is nothing they can do at all. The two young men could only see the tragedy where fellow humans were torn apart by the beast.

They also can not close their eyes to stay alert. This is mental torture they cannot avoid.

Lie, and Nero was waiting until the Agrya satisfied by human flesh, then leave the place. However, one of Agrya attention seems focused on their hiding place.

"Why their attention aimed to here?"

"I-i am sorry, I forgot to r-rub the gra.s.s into my body," Lie replied shakily.

The crowd of Agrya enthusiastically approached them. It seems like the beast still has a place for human meats in their stomach.
