Life As A Servant

Chapter 70

After he saw the brief demonstration of the Teacher Julia, Bin left the practice field. He was slightly impressed but didn"t want to linger too long in a place dense with Mana. Basically, the further the better.

The pumping objects planted by Ann were marvelously doing their job so he didn"t need to worry. Very quickly, he found a comfortable spot under a tree, its shadow blocking the sun and providing him with a beautiful view of the empty campus.

It didn"t take long for his sleepiness to kick-off and his eyes to slowly close. He was woken up by his intensely vibrating phone which only stopped when he answered the call.

Though he very much wanted not to hear the voice of the caller, he still had to bear through it. While rubbing his drowsy eyes, Bin let out a grunt.

"Cla.s.s is finished, come over."

Jasmine"s clarion voice resounded in his ears.

"I"m coming."

He said those two words and hang up, leaving no time for Jasmine to annoy him or complain about something as usual.

"Hmm maybe I was wrong… she won"t risk ruining her public image just to anger me."

He shrugged his shoulders, stood up and left after patting off the leaves off his tuxedo. Though he slept on the ground, it was cleaner than his apartment so the tuxedo still looked brand new.

Anyway, as the campus was ma.s.sive, it wasn"t that easy to locate Jasmine or even remember the cla.s.s she studied in. The servant wandered around, try to recognize bits and pieces but the dense amount of students leaving the buildings made it extremely difficult.

To not get lost, Bin chose a remote area behind one of the main buildings and patiently waited for the students to disperse. Unsurprisingly, he saw many dandy teenagers walking to a "hidden" area and smoke. Just like any other school, smoking is prohibited and it"s more reinforced in this academy because it hinders the flow of Mana inside the body.

So, if they"re caught in the act, there"s even the risk of being expelled. However, the students Bin seemed to be accustomed to doing this every day, they seemed very natural and unafraid of being caught, or perhaps uncaring.

"Yeah… of course, if they"re caught then they"ll threaten the snitch. Cla.s.sic."

It wasn"t Bin business so he didn"t interfere or even try to stop them. He"s not some righteous guy who stops the wrongdoings of the teenagers who steered off the right path. Whatever they do is up to them, after all, it"s their life and not his.

As he was leaning against a wall and peaking at the open field at the front of the buildings, waiting for the students to go about their business and free the s.p.a.ce, three students appeared from out of nowhere.

They were about seven to eight meters away from Bin but two of them had their back facing him. All three were guys and, upon a closer look, it seemed to be the cla.s.sic type of bullying.

The two were taller than the victim and were behaving quite aggressively and arrogantly. As for the bullied, he was a boy with brownish hair, round gla.s.ses, and soft pale skin.

Reflexively, he raised both of his hands, thinking that they were about to hit him. One of the two, a tall youngster with a blond hair flashy earrings, pushed the short guy and said

"Four-eyes, don"t worry. We just want a bit of pocket money, like usual."

The gla.s.s-wearing young man appeared hesitant, his arms still raised, he slowly shook his head while speaking with a shaky voice:

"I still haven"t received my father"s money. W-wait till noon."

Hearing this, the two guys became happy. They nodded their head and, before leaving, the blond one lightly slapped the victim while reminding him:

"And don"t forget. This matter is between up, capito?"

Through this exchange, Bin"s eyes happened to meet with the bullied youngster. He saw the guy"s plea for help but he didn"t do anything, not because he couldn"t but because he didn"t want to.

Why should he interfere in a matter like this? Do you think that if he lends a hand, the bullying will stop? No. It will become worse for the victim. The only solution to fight back on your own, break it once and for all.

If you fall for their tricks and are afraid of pain, you"ll end up like him, oppressed and treated poorly.

This type of bullying isn"t uncommon and, in most cases, the victims tend to accept it without retaliation, which is definitely the wrong move. At least that was Bin"s opinion about this matter.

After the two guys left, the gla.s.s-wearing boy remained standing there, his eyes slightly red.

It was at this time that Bin happened to see Jasmine exiting the building, accompanied by Rika and Melissa. Cara was missing. Knowing how she"ll react if he"s late, he marched towards her, and, when he pa.s.sed by the boy, he said:

"Have you ever tried to fight back?"

It was the only thing he said before he disappeared from the youngster"s eyes, leaving the latter alone in that corner, rubbing his red eyes and silently pondering about the stranger"s words. After a while, he shook his head and picked his phone, messaging his father and urging him to send the pocket money sooner.

Fighting back may be a solution but it can also backlash. He did try to refuse their "requests" but he ended up getting beaten and it"s not like he can physically fight back. They were two and their bodies much larger than his, thinking about pushing them away is absurd and foolish.
