Chapter 276

I went back to the severs, and returned to Crow"s location. No one followed me, the Shades who witnessed the scene, were to scared to do that. When I returned, Crow asked "Nex? You are alive?". I smiled, and replied "Of course I"m. I also have new eyes for you. The problem is, I don"t know how to transplant eyes. I will have to experiment with that, before I can do it on you". Crow was shocked, he said "You killed Teron? You actually killed him?". I replied "Yes. Overseers are no more. He is gone, and with him, goes his rule. You are now free to do whatever you like. No one knows, that I was helping you… except one guy".

I was about to go and take care of that, but Crow stopped me. He said "Wait! He can be trusted. He didn"t sell me out, they found me by themselves. He won"t tell anyone, that you helped me. He hated Teron as well, so he will be happy that he is gone". I nodded my head, and said "Then that is fine. You are free, but we need to get you out of here. I also need to figure out how to replace your eyes. This may take a while, but I should be able to do it".

Crow said "You did so much for me… you even became an enemy of Shades. They will chase you now. Teron was highly positioned, and others with his skill level, will go after you, if they find you of course". I laughed, and said "This is not the first time, someone is after me". Crow though for a while, and said "I can"t really live in the city now. I can"t see, and my arm although attached back, will not function for a long time… Can… can I go with you?". I replied "Sure. We will go to Obsidian Mountains, and I will leave you there. You will be able to get back to health, while I try to find a way to return your sight".

Crow nodded his head, then asked "How do we escape? The problem is, the city may be blocked now. They will search for you, that is certain". I thought about it, and asked "Where do these pipes go?". Crow seemed confused, so I explained "I want to know, where all this murky water is going. Is it flowing straight into the Sludge Factory, or someplace else?".

Crow realized what I meant, and replied "The pipes go straight to the Sludge Factory. At least, that is what the map says. I never checked, besides no Shade knows, what is below the surface of the Sludge Factory. Maybe those who built the severs knew, but it was very, very long time ago". I took out a map, and checked the possible exits. I soon found something, that we could use.

"I found a place, but it"s a bit tight. It"s right next to the eastern wall. As far as I remember the map of the city, this place is rather deserted. We can go through there". Crow nodded his head, and stood up. I walked over, and grabbed him. Crow smiled, and said "Thanks". I walked with Crow, towards the new exit that I found. It didn"t take that long, as I pretty much carried Crow with me.

When we arrived, I could see a small grate above me. "We are here. Wait a minute, I will remove the grate, and have a look". Crow nodded, and sat down. I jumped up, and grabbed the grate. I then placed my legs onto the ceiling, and pulled down. The grate broke off rather easily, while I landed below. I jumped up again, and looked around.

There was no one currently there. I jumped down, and said "Wait here, I will check out the surroundings, and our way out. I will be back soon". I then jumped up again, and exited the severs. The exit was a bit tight though. I didn"t have to squeeze past, but didn"t have much s.p.a.ce either.

I quickly used the shadows, and hid from view. The place was deserted, and no one was there. I checked the whole area, and although there were a few houses, no Shades walked around. "Good, now I just have to figure out how to exit" I thought. Scaling the wall, was not possible. It was too tall, and even if I could do it myself, Crow couldn"t.

"I can just force my way out though" I thought, but then I noticed something. "Hmmm?". There was a way to escape unnoticed, but we would land straight into the Sludge Factory. "I don"t think that the Sludge Factory, will be able to do something to me at this stage. I"m very fast now, and much stronger" I thought.

The possible way out, was to use a specific route. The route involved jumping from one roof to the other that was taller, and building my speed. When I would reach the tallest building next to the wall, I would have to jump. It was possible for me to achieve that, although I didn"t know if I could do it with Crow as well. "Let"s see then" I thought, and returned to the severs. Crow sat on the ground silently. I said "I have a way out. We should be able to leave, without anyone noticing us". Crow nodded his head, and said "Alright, let"s go then".

I helped Crow out of the severs, and then said "I will carry you, as the route I chose, will be quite b.u.mpy". Crow nodded his head, and said "Sure". I grabbed him, and jumped onto the first roof. I travelled using the roofs, at my max speed, and then with all my strength, I jumped up "BOOOM!". The building"s roof collapsed, as I flew upwards.

I was barely able to make that jump. I had to jump about 40 metres, while carrying all my stuff and Crow. I said "Now the hard part. Jumping down to the Sludge Factory". Crow exclaimed "Are you serious?! This cannot be your plan!". I smiled, and replied "It is indeed!", and jumped down. The distance between me, and the Sludge Factory, was around 60 metres. I hoped that Sludge Factory was soft.

It was soft indeed. When I landed, I sunk a couple of metres below the surface, and could see the eyes of Sludge Factory, looking at me. For some reason though, the Factory did nothing. I sprung back to the surface, and ran atop the Sludge Factory, towards the Obsidian Mountains. Crow asked "We are alive?". I laughed loudly, and said "Yea, and the Sludge Factory doesn"t even attack us, or at least me. You wouldn"t be attacked anyway".

Crow said "That is weird. Is it perhaps because you are helping me?" I replied "Maybe, I don"t know. Whatever the reason, we are out, and on our way to Obsidian Mountains". Crow nodded his head, and stayed quiet. With my speed and strength, we would get there in a few days, not weeks. I soon left the Sludge Factory, and the Wilderness greeted me again. "I wonder how Lazar and Harlin are doing?" I thought, as I ran towards my destination.
