Little Creation

Chapter 1

How strange.

How utterly peculiar.

I have had what could accurately be called the strangest event of my existence.

As I went to sleep, I felt a strange sensation. I knew I was warm beyond a shadow of a doubt, however I felt a chilling cold from deep inside of me. The cold spread from my chest towards the extremities of my body before I finally fell into a deep slumber. One I know knew that my body would never awake from.

Yet my soul, fragile as it may seem lives on. I had been dragged away without rhyme or reason to this… location, if a concept of s.p.a.ce is even applicable here. I saw, or more accurately "felt" a terrifying presence during this out-of-body experience. An enormous power, likely the one responsible for spiriting me away.

Away to where?

I tried to "feel" the area around me and felt nothing. Just a growing expanse of emptiness, but I couldn"t even tell if it was far or near.

I felt strangled despite the lack of anything to strangle me with. The vast emptiness somehow threatened to swallow me. I was alone against the entirety of nothing and I feared it.

I needed something to comfort me. A person I knew, my pet – oh how is he doing without me? I hope he lives on to be a wise old cat and to live on by his code of laziness. He always enjoys sleeping in the sunlight on the wooden floor.

I came to a stop. I had to get my thoughts in order. No thinking of pets. Or friends. No. I had to find something here. To escape, find a way to leave and return home.

I felt around me, even further than before. Anything I could use. I hoped I could find a light so I could see- even if it was only a candle.

And there it appeared. In a waxy brilliance it appeared in my range of feeling. Somehow it must have been near me, but I had not sensed it in my panic. No- it wasn"t possible to miss something in the Expanse, as I deem to call it.

The candle illuminated nothing. I was still stuck in utter darkness, but I noticed that I was now glowing. My new self refracted the light all around me. This wouldn"t do. What was I? A ghost? Humans can"t do that!

As the last thought appeared, I stopped glowing. As did my previous train of thought. I had noticed something. As I thought of details, I would conjure them in the expanse. How about... a notebook?

It appeared! I had created something from nothing. This notebook I had conjured is to be a diary. A diary of grand old me escaping the confines of the Expanse and returning home. With my little book to keep me company, I"m bound to do great things along the way.

Now, should I carve out a little creation to begin with?
