Chang Yifeng stood up from his seat with wide eyes. What the h.e.l.l was happening?
SY Holdings had now taken over his family business? His face was blanched in white as his color faded in realization.
Top Tier Entertainment owned the online game Hunt: For the Legion. His family started this game three years ago, and it was their pride that it kept the popularity for years. For SY Holdings to take over his family business, did this mean that he somehow offended President Shen?
Now that SY Holdings owned Top Tier Entertainment, it could control that company’s policies and oversee its management decisions. Where would his family end up to?
That woman…
So she wasn’t joking when she said he should f.u.c.k off if he couldn’t dare to offend the Shen family.
He clenched his fists tighter and left the stage without a word. He ignored the words of his friends calling his name. There was really something wrong going on if Shen Yi showed himself.
Chang Yifeng stopped in his tracks when that thought crossed his mind. TheLordofh.e.l.l was President Shen? A cold s.h.i.+ver ran through his body. He took his phone and called his parents, but no one answered.
He called his a.s.sistant, only to find out that there was an issue within the company.
“Boss! Our investors are threatening to pull out if we don’t give the management to President Shen! Madam was rushed to the hospital. We still don’t know what her condition is.”
‘Where’s my father?” Chang Yifeng loosened his dress s.h.i.+rt before unlocking the door of his car.
“He’s still in a meeting with the representatives of SY Holdings. Sir, we will lose Top Tier at this rate.”
He knew that already, but that didn’t mean he could stay silent on what was happening. He had a vague idea that he messed up big time but to what extent? He didn’t know.

Back in the inn…
“Why did you change your IGN?” Shen Yi took bottled water from the fridge and opened it with a loud twist.
Lu Xinyi rolled in the bed with a lollipop in her mouth. She lay on her back and watched her husband drink the water in one go. She looked away when she realized she’d been staring for too long.
“No reason. Why?”
“Who are LTX and NX?” Shen Yi threw the empty bottle in a bin and sat down beside her. “Shouldn’t you be preparing for your next activities than lazing around?”
“Hey! I was really tired, ah. Spare me this once. As for your previous question, they are my favorite characters from the novel I was reading. Don’t worry, dear. I still s.h.i.+p the two of us.” She winked back.
Shen Yi rose a brow but kept silent. He then pushed her to make a s.p.a.ce for him. Lu Xinyi rolled on her side and let him lay beside her. Propping her head with one arm, she admired Shen Yi’s handsome features.
Such a devilish beauty he got. He had the kind of face that stopped one in their tracks. Lu Xinyi guessed he must get used to that—the sudden pause in a person’s natural expression when they looked his way, followed by overcompensating with a nonchalant gaze and a weak smile.
Of course, the blush that accompanied it was a dead give-away. It didn’t help that he was so modest with it; it made women fall for him all the more. Despite all the attention that came his way, he was a one-woman man who prized her trust and love above lipstick and high-heels. He was handsome—alright, but inside, he was truly beautiful.
“What’s with that look?” His question brought her back to reality. “You aren’t planning to do something evil, are you?”
“What made you think that I’m always up to something?” She laughed.
“You aren’t? That’s a relief, but can you also avoid making trouble? Why is it whenever I’m not around, you attract problems left and right? Have I known you are getting bullied after going to Silver Leaf, I should have let Qiao He released a press statement about our marriage.” Shen Yi said dejectedly. He covered his eyes with one arm.
Lu Xinyi sat up and bit her lower lip. She wasn’t planning to give him problems, but she couldn’t help if those idiots keep on trying to mess with her.
“I’ll try to behave, but I cannot promise that I’ll not reiterate on their stupidity,” she complied.
Shen Yi had long prepared the path she walked on, eliminating possible threats and issues that may arise. Lu Xinyi knew that their current predicament put a lot of strain on their relations.h.i.+p so if in the future she would find trouble against a bigger person, wouldn’t it affect her husband’s reputation?
“In the future, can you promise not to do this again?” she requested.
Shen Yi moved his arm from his face to take a good look at her. Her shoulders sagged, eyes lowered as she thought about what to do.
“If you don’t mind, I have two requests. I hope you will consider abiding.”
“Speak. Whatever you wish for me to do, I’ll grant it.” Shen Yi responded reluctantly. If she’d known the influence she had on him, would she think of him as a pathetic man?
“First, unless there would be no other choice, please do not reveal our relations.h.i.+p. People might think that my confidence and arrogance aren’t backed by my own capabilities but your name.” Lu Xinyi sighed, “The Shen family has protected me. Least I can do is give them troubles.”
“And the second one?”
“I know this is unfair on your part, but do not interfere with such matters in the future.”
Shen Yi stared at her like she had grown another head. He was hearing her clearly, right?
“You know that wouldn’t be possible…” he said after a long silence between them.
“I trust you,” Lu Xinyi said decisively. More than anyone else, she knew she could only rely on him.
After listening to Lu Xinyi’s requests, Shen Yi gave a slight smirk. He knew he couldn’t deny her.
“Then consider it done.”
Just when they were about to leave their suite to have dinner together, someone knocked on their door in a hurry. Shen Yi opened it only to see one of the staff of the inn looking for his wife.
“President Shen, someone is looking for Miss Lu.” She explained. “Should we drive him away?”
“Who is it?” Shen Yi asked with a hint of impatience in his voice.
The young woman s.h.i.+vered under his gaze.
“The man only identified himself with a surname Chang.”
Shen Yi gave her a nod and watched as the woman retreated. Oh, so Chang Yifeng still had some head on his shoulders. He deduced that his problems stemmed out from offending Lu Xinyi, and now he was looking for her.
Chang Yifeng sat with his head lowered, eyes fixated on his hands. He refused to believe that it was but a coincidence. His encounter with Lu Xinyi had led to his defeat against the anonymous player. His body trembled as he realized how stupid he was for offending a woman like her.
Who knew how deep was her connection with the Shen family? He should have known when Lu Xinyi warned him.
The door slid open, taking his attention back on reality. Lifting his head, he saw Lu Xinyi wearing a simple white dress with floral patterns printed on her skirt. Behind her stood the demon king, staring back at him with his pitch-black eyes.
Chang Yifeng gulped and felt sweat forming on his palms. He stood up and lowered his head as he greeted the couple. “President Shen. Miss Lu.”
The couple sat across them with Shen Yi starting to put the dishes one at a time on Lu Xinyi’s plate.
“Here. Finished this crispy fish. I know you don’t like to eat fish, but you can’t be too picky with what to eat,” Shen Yi whispered to his wife while Chang Yifeng was forced to watch the interaction between the two.
Lu Xinyi let out a giggle and started eating.
“If I don’t know much, you’re probably trying to turn me into a pig.”
Shen Yi shook his head, but his eyes were filled with amus.e.m.e.nt.
“You all come up with weird conclusions.”
Chang Yifeng felt out of place as the couple continued to ignore his presence. Wouldn’t they even spare him and give him a face?
“President Shen.” He decided to break the awkward silence.
