Ay, how could Lu Xinyi not use this to her advantage? Not when she needed money more than ever. With Lei Peng standing as a willing prey, she couldn’t wait to reap the benefits later. Her brother would make this easy for her.
“What? Did your b.a.l.l.s seize you up? Don’t wanna compete anymore?” Lu Xinyi taunted him, making Lei Peng speechless from her vulgar words.
“You still have time to back out, Mr. Lei. I truly understand the cost of losing such a huge amount of money would be hard if you lose, but Mr. Lei shouldn’t have stepped inside my property and messed with Oriental Bliss.”
“Such big words, Miss, but you really don’t mind wasting money on Oriental Bliss?” Lei Peng laughed, but his irritation was apparent on his face.
“Mr. Lei shouldn’t worry about such trivial things. This miss has a ma.s.sive shoe collection and got a pair to use on every occasion. Wouldn’t this be the easier way for you to seize Oriental Bliss? I hate beating around the bush, but I do love getting easy money.”
Lei Peng’s face turned to gloom. He hated this woman, but she was right. This would end his chase.
“The compet.i.tion will be held in three days. Our three chefs will compete with you.” Lei Pei glanced at Old Man Ji and Ji Mingqian.” But I don’t think Oriental Bliss has their own chefs to represent them.”
“Oh, don’t worry about that. My brother and I are going to compete for them,” the little devil a.s.sured him. She could see the intensity in her brother’s eyes. With him and Huang Shenghao beside her, how could she lose?
“Why are you persisting to protect this place anyway? Miss, this restaurant is already a lost cause. You cannot save it from closing its doors.”
“Then watch me.” Lu Xinyi wasn’t giving him any face anymore. Did he dare to start a ruckus in front of her? Oh, she would love to end this game he started. “Since I’m the newest owner of Oriental Bliss, how can I allow you to show disrespect to us?”
The bald fat man was once again shocked by her words. The newest owner of Oriental Bliss?!
Old Man Ji finally sold his property, but it wasn’t to him?! No wonder he didn’t want to enter a deal with him because he already sold it to this woman.
“The deal is on, Miss…”
“Lu.” Lu Xinyi cut him off, the end of her lips curling up. “The surname is Lu. Please don’t forget it the next time we meet.”
“You better not regret this, Miss Lu.” He sneered before turning around to leave but not before his men thrashed the dining hall of the restaurant.
When one of them tried to touch Lu Xinyi, an elite guard Shen Xue left made a move and broke the man’s arm. His piercing scream made Lei Peng’s steps falter.
Turning around, the scene that greeted him back was horrifying. The three of his men were down on their knees, screaming bloodily. At the center of that, the same woman he made a deal with was looking back at him with a sinister smile.
He broke into a cold sweat. Did he just seal his fate with this devil?
“Oh, Mr. Lei, did you forget something to tell? I’m all ears.” Lu Xinyi called out.
Lei Peng stumbled back before running away at full speed, abandoning his men.
f.u.c.k. f.u.c.k. What did just happen?
Just who the h.e.l.l she was to instill fear on him?
Seeing that they were abandoned by their boss, Lei Peng’s three men scrammed to their feet and ran away. They suddenly felt they just provoke an unknown enemy.
Once they were out of sight, the staff of Oriental Bliss slightly closed the doors of the restaurant and started cleaning the mess Lei Peng’s men left on their wake.
“Ah, he ran away.” Lu Xinyi pouted. “Was he afraid of me? I was just asking what else he wanted.”
“He probably saw your small horns peeking up from your head and ran in fear,” Tian Lingyu said, helping Ji Mingqian to place the tables and chairs to their previous positions.
Ji Mingqian heaved a sigh, relieved that Lei Peng would stop hara.s.sing them for a while; but…
“Madam Shen, I have to apologize to you. Our restaurant troubled you this time,” Old Man Ji apologized to Lu Xinyi.
“You don’t have to apologize. Since my husband has considered your restaurant, I know he was also aware of your predicament,” Lu Xinyi told him. There was no way in h.e.l.l Shen Yi didn’t know about Lei Peng.
When Shen Yi and Shen Xue came back with the twins, the scene they walked in on wasn’t far from what they’d seen before they left. Shen Xue was sure that they hadn’t been gone for fifteen minutes so why did the restaurant look like a storm pa.s.sed by and thrashed everything on its wake?
“What the heck happened while we’re gone?” he asked.
“Lei Peng paid a visit, didn’t he?” Shen Yi asked Old Man Ji.
Old Man Ji nodded and narrated to the Shen siblings how Lei Peng appeared after they left and how Tian Lingyu stood up for them, forcing Lu Xinyi to make a drastic decision and a bet with Lei Peng.
“Xinxin, when I ask for your help, I didn’t say you should make a bet with Lei Peng. Lei Peng is just a small fry. Even if I took the management of Oriental Bliss, he wouldn’t be able to bully the Ji family in the future,” Shen Yi told his wife.
For f.u.c.k’s sake, he just left her alone for a while; she’d already made a deal without asking for his opinion.
“Sorry, darling.” Lu Xinyi wrapped her arms around his waist and pressed her face on his chest. “You were gone, and I couldn’t stand his arrogance. What do you expect me to do then? A person like him is what I detest the most.”
